Run by a mixed-race family of Scottish and Malaysian descent, and their 3 caucasian shepherd dogs.

Oysterber Farm CL is situated near Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales set in open countryside midway between the villages of Low Bentham and Burton-in-Lonsdale. There are three pubs all within walking distance. At High Bentham 2 miles away, there are a good range of shops including 2 small supermarkets, full banking facilities and a post office.

Close to the three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent, this part of England offers some of the very best walking, climbing, cycling and caving. From the CL you are on the doorstep of The Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District, and the west coast seaside resorts of Morecambe Bay and the beautiful Lancashire countryside only a few miles away in the Forest of Bowland.

Ingleton and Clapham, both famous for waterfalls and caves, are very close and it is only 6 miles from the attractive Cumbrian Market town of Kirkby Lonsdale whilst the wildlife reserve at Leighton Moss is only a further 5 miles away.

Recreational facilities around Bentham are many and varied, including fishing in the river Wenning for trout and sea trout and Stocks Reservoir and the charming village of Slaidburn are only 15 miles away. There is an 18-hole golf course with a modern clubhouse 2 miles away at High Bentham and a very active footpath group organizes guided walks around the area every week; there are 28 well sign posted walks in all. Both on and off road cycling is very popular and there are many green roads free of traffic to ride, including a cycle way that runs the length of the Lune Valley all the way to Morecambe on the Coast with branches off to various other destinations. Close to the CL is the owners Studio Pottery where you can book a pottery course. Ranging from half a day to a full week, or simply just to come and watch. The area was once famous for its small potteries and the nearby village of Burton-in-Lonsdale was the centre of this rural industry. The pottery is produced in the traditional manner, mainly on the wheel and fired in a gas kiln to stoneware temperatures and sold from the showroom which is on site.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times due to livestock in the adjacent fields. There are many walks direct from the CL for exercising them, two of our favourites are on the banks of the Rivers Wenning and Greta, just ask us for details when you arrive.

It is a very quiet site and has electric hook up points, a shower, WC and washbasin.

Located in Three Peaks country on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales close to the village of Ingleton but within easy reach of the market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, the Lake District, Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales & the Morecambe Bay Towns & Villages.

The Three Peaks challenge of walking Pen Y Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough is very popular and very close to the accomodation. It can be done in one day or individually, to suit the fitness of the party.

The holiday cottages are set in 6 acres of beautiful open countryside with superb panoramic views.

The local area has excellent walking, cycling, fishing and caving opportunities including the famous Ingleton Waterfalls walk. The hosts are pleased to share their extensive local knowledge of these activities.

The holiday cottages are stocked with handmade pots crafted at the adjacent Bentham Pottery. Pottery courses can be arranged, though guests are quite welcome to simply watch the potters at work. Self catering holiday cottages are available throughout the year.

Ample parking, barbeque area, picnic area and a max of 2 pets pets by arrangement.

Three pubs are within walking distance of the cottages, in the two adjacent villages. Outdoor shops and cafes/pubs are available in the close-by village of High Bentham & Ingleton.

Non Electric Grass Pitch

Moss Rose Campsite is a peaceful, isolated site in the Lancashire countryside, about 10 minutes’ drive from the M6 and half an hour north of Preston.

This is a splendid spot for those who’d like a bit of peace and quiet – pitches are on a simple grass field well away from any neighbours. You’ll have to travel down a long farm track to get here (it’s rather rough and bumpy, so take it slowly) but the reward is a spacious and secluded stay on a small traditional family-run working farm with views out over fields of farm animals. (The owners describe it as ‘somewhat alike to The Darling Buds of May’, for those who remember such telly treats.)

Lakeland Miniature Village features over 100 structures made from regional Coniston slate, all of which have been carefully handcrafted with hand tools only, no equipment! This provides an understanding that is fascinating the historic buildings of Lakeland, all created by one man.This is a lovely small place to spend 30 minutes roughly, marvelling at these lovely little structures, which depict farms and Cumbrian houses, including classics for instance the house of Beatrix Potter, Hill Top. There's also a replica of Slater's Bridge, because of the Clapper that is adjoining Bridge over 50ft (15.24m)! While you go round.The miniature village happens to be growing for over 22 years, generally there can be one thing a new comer to see, plus you will find water features throughout the village to savor once you learn the Lake District, you can expect to recognise lots of places. The village even offers an Oriental Building, which is their display area, and overlooks an attractiveOriental Garden.There is a quiz to complete about each building and their history as you explore all of the marvellous miniatures, plus you can find informative indications that inform you.

Ford Park has nine acres of open area and it is loaded with activities for children of all of the ages. The playground that is natural surround by grassy mounds, has an exciting 30m Zip Wire, climbing stilts, swings plus much more.Free guides to your Nature path, Tree Trail and entry-level Orienteering Route are available through the Coach House Cafe. They are going to guide you through the woodland and wilder elements of the park and onto the mature that is wonderful with wildlife pond. The tracks end up in the orchard, near to the Kitchen Garden and Cafe.There is lots to see and learn in this inspirational park that is community-owned. Located in the shadow of Hoad Hill, Ford Park makes a great point that is beginning a climb up the hill to start to see the Sir John Barrow Monument, a 100ft high lighthouse built to honour a famous son of Ulverston. The views alone can be worth the 20 moment climb to your the surface of the hill.If you cannot make the climb that is steep just relax on the top terrace of our Cafe where you will find splendid views regarding the Monument and across Morecambe Bay towards the Pennines. The Coach House Cafe has an children that are exceptional menu and all sorts of dishes are freshly cooked regarding the premises with neighborhood and home-grown ingredients.During school holidays there are a selection Family Activities every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm. Tasks vary from art and crafts to food gardening and growing.

Ford Park

The Wacky Warehouse at facility Promenade features an adventure that is indoor framework for young ones under 4ft9 in height and ten years, plus enclosed toddle zone at under 3s.  They both provide oodles of opportunities for physical, social and imagination play, boasting slides, tunnels, ball pits, bridges and mini attack courses with plenty more besides. Obviously the framework for older kids is much bigger, it requires to be! But the toddle area is big sufficient for exposure and toddling remains good through the big one from the sitting area. They offer frequent arts and crafts sessions here so that you additionally the children will get messy (bring a big change of clothing!): no pre booking, just drop in. Supervision and all sorts of materials included. Birthday parties welcomed here too plus complimentary WiFi.
