Hardstanding Touring Pitch

We only allow non electric tents on site . Nestled into the beautiful countryside on the edge of the National Forest in South Derbyshire, Springwood Fisheries offers you the chance to come and appreciate the great outdoors in picturesque surroundings.*

 The campsite has many camping and glamping pitches which are well laid out and dotted around the **two fishing lakes**; the lakes are bordered by mature trees and shrubs and it is a very pretty place to relax.  

There are 22 electric hook-ups for caravans and motorhomes (6 on hard standing) and many of these are lakeside with great views.  The site also has a large grassy area which is perfect for tents and campervans or those not requiring an electric hook up.  

In addition to the touring pitches, Springwood Fisheries  also have glamping accommodation in the form of very cosy log pods; if you like the idea of camping but don’t have your own tent or caravan, then these are perfect. 

 There is a choice of either a standard pod or a deluxe pod and they both have beds for 4, a TV and DVD, kettle, microwave, fridge, table and chairs and a decking area at the front of the pod with great views over the lake.  Each pod also has its own hardstanding parking space right next door.  The deluxe pods have the added luxury of an en-suite shower room and toilet.

All the pods and pitches are spaced out well and have lovely views across the campsite and the two lakes.  If you have come for the fishing you won’t be disappointed.  Bottom Lake and Top Lake are very well stocked with many different varieties of fish including Common, Mirror, Ghost Carp, Roach, Chub and Ide.  

Anyone staying can have a go at fishing for a small fee.  Facilities at the campsite are good, with toilets, shower blocks, washing up areas, a chemical disposal point and a cafe if you fancy an excellent cooked breakfast after a morning of fishing.  They also provide hot drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Springfield Fisheries is a quiet and peaceful site, and you are extremely well located here to explore some of what Derbyshire has to offer, if you can cope with leaving the angling alone for a day or two!  

The nearby house and gardens of Calke Abbey - owned by the National Trust- is just five minutes drive away and makes for a fantastic day trip.  With 600 acres of stunning parkland to explore, you can cycle or walk around the trails and spot fallow deer and other wildlife.

  The mansion itself is extraordinary to visit; it is the place where time - literally - has stood still; the 20th-Century house has been preserved by the National Trust and kept exactly as it was found, meaning you can see a clear picture of what life was like in an era gone by.  Wander through abandoned rooms and halls with peeling wallpaper and a huge collection of unusual and unique objects that were all left beyond exactly where they were.  It is a site to behold. 

 Also close by is Donnington Park - one of the world's foremost race circuits, the Gardens at Melbourne Hall and the Foremark Reservoir.

**This site is not open on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day.  Reopening for bookings starts from Boxing Day.**

Our facilities are built with quality in mind with cedar cladding, fully insulated and eco-powered and heated by the farm wind turbine. The view from the pods over the valley and Carsington Water is beautiful particularly in the morning. Not just in sunshine, the changing weather patterns create some spectacular scenes especially during Autumn and Winter. All can be enjoyed and viewed from inside the cosy glamping pods too.

Damson and Bluebell Pods each sleep two guests, ideal for couples and Lavender Pod sleeps up to four guests, ideal for families. Groups of eight can enjoy exclusive hire of our glamping site, great for a family or friends Peak District gathering. Damson and Lavender Pods are pet friendly too.

We are open all year around and as a family run business we don't believe in hiking the prices in school holidays so we don't.

We just have a minimum of a three-night weekend or four-night midweek stay during school holidays.

Our Damson Pod and Lavender Pod are pet friendly and we welcome well behaved dogs on our farm. As we have sheep and cattle roaming around your glamping pods, we have to limit this to two in each pod per stay and must be kept on leads at all times.



**Directions to Mulino Pods:**

If you are arriving by public transport the nearest train station is either Derby, Belper or Uttoxeter. There are then bus routes to the town of Ashbourne and a taxi thereafter is necessary. 
We are in a rural location, approximately 35-45 minutes footpath walk to the nearest village of Kniveton (and bus stop).



Mulino Pods

This year our Cowslip yurt moved into The Glade; an exclusive, private part of the farm, surrounded by trees, a wild pond and its own little footpath style entrance, as well as its own unique handmade long framed tipi equipped as an indoor-outdoor kitchen and dining area.

We have 2 unique eco-yurt stays, both come fully equipped with comfy beds, log burners, furniture, equipped kitchen with stove, cooking ware and drinking water sink, solar lighting, outdoor standing BBQ, large circle fire pit and a compost loo and hot shower.

We offer a unique ‘back to basics’ camping experience on our working farm in Derbyshire. Our limited facilities are offset by the panoramic views of the Peak District and stunning sunsets to the west.

-   No fixed pitches; campers use a selection of fields dependent on livestock grazing and haymaking.
-    No electricity hook-up; enjoy the sounds of the countryside without your hair-dryer or DAB radio.
-    No hot water or showers for campers; mains drinking water taps on bright blue pipes are available in the fields for your use.
-    Environmentally friendly; compost toilets and long-drops facilities.
-    We allow campfires; provided no damage to the ground is caused, i.e the fire is on a fire pan, brazier or BBQ. We have handmade fire pan’s available for use free of charge.
-    Large log bags; available to buy for £5 a bag, one bag will last three-four hours burning, or bring your own! (no nails please)
-    Well-behaved dogs; are allowed by arrangement. We have free-range livestock including lambs and poultry, so dogs must be kept under close control at all times.

Bluebell sits in the bottom corner of one of the farms largest fields, next to a willow orchard, boasting a vast open field space and spectacular views close by. Perfect for families who want room to play, roam and explore.

Eco Yurt 2 - Bluebell by the Willow

Situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the land on which New House Farm stands has a rich and exciting history. People have worked this land from prehistoric times, leaving many traces visible on the farm. This sense of history gives the farm a remarkable atmosphere that is almost timeless.

We are a working organic family farm offering a ‘back to basics camping experience - and now have 2 gorgeous handmade yurts. Our limited facilities are offset by the panoramic views of the Peak District National Park and stunning sunsets to the west.

We have 2 unique eco-yurt stays, both come fully equipped with comfy beds, log burners, furniture, equipped kitchen with stove, cooking ware and drinking water sink,  solar lighting, outdoor standing BBQ, large circle fire pit and a compost loo and hot shower! We hope to have our homemade log burning sauna ready for Autumn 2022.

Basic camping at New House Farm means cold water, compost loos, no showers, and meeting the very free-range animals and poultry. No electricity hook-up, enjoy the sounds of the countryside without your hair dryer or DAB radio.

At New House Farm we care about food production. We’re concerned about animal welfare. We’re passionate about preserving the environment around us and creating a sustainable industry, and we understand the important link between the food we eat and our health. Our organic produce includes beef and lamb, plus pork products from a local farm. We can also supply salad in season from the farm. Our very free-range chickens roost in the sycamore tree in the garden and lay fabulous eggs - we also sell our duck and goose eggs in season.

Conservation is important. We have wildflower meadows, ancient pasture land with ridge and furrow, newly planted woodland and hedgerows, a new pond, willow beds.

We have also put together an archaeology trail with an accompanying guide book that you can use on your visit to explore the land in more detail and 'read the landscape' to discover over 4000 years of human activity.

NOTES The yurts came as a unit, and the prices do not change according to capacity, whether you are 1 or 6, the price is the same. However, for camping we charge per person per night: £10 for adults, £4 for children. (No charge for children under 3 years old.) Fire pits are provided free of charge, and wood is available to purchase. Fresh produce is available from the farm shop

Well behaved dogs are allowed but must be supervised at all times.



New House Farm

Hill Farm Caravan and Camping Site is a family-run site in the Derbyshire countryside, easily accessible from the A50, a couple of minutes drive from Barrow-on-Trent, and 50 minutes from the Peak District.
This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept caravans or motorhomes, camper vans and usually tents.
Stays in the camping pods here should be nice and cosy  each one is insulated, has electric heating included and are available all year.

We are a relatively quiet family run dog friendly caravan and camping park. We are located four miles from Romsey and only seven miles from Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World. We are an ideal base for touring the Test Valley, Southampton, Salisbury, Winchester, Portsmouth, the South Coast s sandy beaches and the monoliths at Stonehenge. Ferries for the continent and Isle of Wight are within a 30 minute drive. Other Local activities include horse riding, walking, fly and course fishing and golf.

Fancy a lunch out with your tots? Wacky Warehouse at Bonnie Prince in Chellaston is good for families with small children. You are welcome to dig into some delicious convenience food while your children unleash their crazy part within the colourful Wacky Warehouse play area that is soft. Smooth play is both safe and fun, and that means you've got nothing to bother about! As soon as in in the Wacky Warehouse, your sprogs being tiny have plenty to help keep them occupied - from exploring actions and tunnels, to having fun with the foam blocks, to taking a dive within the ball pit.  Oh, and there is a Peppa Pig car, play the theme that is familiar friendly staff at Wacky Warehouse - Bonnie Prince makes every person's experience better.
