Sparrows Campsite has 6 luxury Bell tents available in the main wildflower meadow, each one named after the different variety of trees that are found in the woodlands surrounding the campsite.


The tents are set in their own private “settlement” in the meadow surrounded by a woven fence barrier to making it feel like you’re in your own wild off-grid camp! You’ll find everything you need for your stay within your settlement, but the emphasis is on keeping it simple at the same time. Each area has a campfire at the heart of the settlement with seating as well as an outdoor dining area too. 

The Bell tents are fully furnished with beds, mattresses and bedding, all you'll need to bring is a towel.

The settlements are close to the campsite's shower and toilet facilities, so if nature calls you don't have to walk half a mile to get to them in the middle of the night!

Sparrows campsite also offers the option of wild camping in a number of beautiful areas around the campsite. There are 5 pitches available and all are set in their own private area with a campfire and picnic table. So if you have your own tent or campervan all you have to do is book a pitch and turn up! 


You will have access to the hot showers and the rest of the campsite facilities which are only a short walk from the wild camping area. 

Wild Camping

Sparrows Campsite offers a selection of fully furnished Bell tents set in their own privately-fenced areas in the campsites wildflower meadow.

Each Bell tent is fully furnished with beds, bedding and linens, all you have to bring is a towel! Perfect for anyone that wants to escape into nature whilst enjoying all the usual home comforts. 

The campsite also offers a number of pitch-and-pay wild camping areas. If you have your own tent and camping equipment then all you have to do is book your pitch.

**We do not accept bookings from unaccompanied adults aged 18 or under.**

**Campfires** - Campfires are only permitted in designated areas. There is one communal fire pit and each dwelling has its own small fire pit. Please do not make fires anywhere else on the site. **Any fires found outside of the designated areas will incur a charge.** Only timber supplied by us can be used. You are **not permitted** to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead. All timber and similar flammable materials are the property of the owners. Please ensure you use your fire pit safely.

**BBQ** - Fire pits and grills are provided with each tent.  If any disposable BBQs are used, they must be kept off the grass and disposed of as directed by our staff.

**Noise** - We are a Low Noise Policy Site. Please consider other guests and keep noise to a minimum, especially after 21.00.

**Parking** - There is free parking next to the site. Your tariffs cover you for one car per dwelling. Additional cars incur a charge and must be parked in the car park. Please let us know if you wish to bring additional vehicles. No vehicles to be driven onto the site.

**Waste & Rubbish** - Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the toilets. Bins are provided – please make sure you use them. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Please empty any liquid waste into designated drain. Refuse area situated by the kitchen. Please do not drop litter. Please respect the site and treat our facilities with care.

**Recycling** - Please make use of the recycling facilities provided. We have recycling bins for glass & general waste. Please note that our general waste is collected by CSH Environmental who have a state-of-the-art recycling centre where all your general waste is sorted and recycled. **SAFETY** - The following are not permitted inside of our tents: gas appliances of any kind, fires, BBQs or smoking. Naked flames are used in/by our tents only when occupied, and are used at your own risk. Please ensure your children do not climb trees in the woodland around the site. Children must be accompanied when using the toilet block facilities. Please be aware of where your children are and what they are doing at all times. Please ensure your children are accompanied at all times and be aware of the dangers. We are not responsible for the safety of your children.

**British Weather** - Camping in Britain can mean unpredictable weather. Whilst we supply certain facilities and equipment, it is still camping and you are responsible for your own well being and comfort regarding appropriate clothing and footwear etc. Be aware the tents are cotton canvas and in prolonged and heavy rain the tents may leak. Please keep windows and doors to the tents closed during rainfall to avoid water getting in. Browning Bros. cannot be held responsible for poor weather conditions during your stay.

The owners of the site are absolved of all liability for accidents, loss or damage to guests’ personal property. We reserve the right to ask guests not observing the conditions to leave the site without refunds and with immediate effect.

This medieval church, with parts dating from the 1100s, stands next to the grounds of Stansted Hall. The setting is peaceful despite the convenience of the nearby motorway and airport. It contains two exceptional seventeenth-century tomb figures, those of wasp-waisted Hester Salusbury in her hunting clothes and her father Sir Thomas Middleton.

Bring your loved ones to come and sample the environment that is vintage simply take a charming hour very long ride on a prize winning period nation Colne Valley Railway!this might be an extremely pretty little line scattered along the route with relocated station buildings, classic signal bins and handsome bridges, all lovingly restored and rebuilt by enthusiasts. They have a big and collection that is varied of classic vapor and diesel engines plus carriages and wagons which roundly represent much of their Railway Heritage. It is a pace that is good explore with little chuff lovers but it is additionally an excellent visit to bring a grandparent or two along on.There's also a handmade track of 100 metres with a miniature model railway caught it alongside a tunnel, previous channels and over bridges, with a castle and a lake too! It's a lovely little new addition that the children will really enjoy: see they have a 650 metres long 7 and 25 % gauge railway too if they can spot Nessie in the lake!And in between the 2! Big, medium and tiny: have you thought to get a photograph associated with the grouped family members in the front of each of them to suit their size? Or swap them round for a giggle.There's a buffet automobile cafe and a present shop (of course!) to pay a time that is littleand money) in too, however if you are viewing the pennies just take your wells rather and go for the Woodland Walk that is available very early May before the end of September but at least just a little muddy very nearly the whole time, therefore it is maybe not appropriate those in normal footwear or even for pushchairs.

Hedingham Castle's Norman continue, 110 legs high, had been built c.1140 by Aubrey de Vere and it is still owned by one of his true descendants, Jason Lindsay and their spouse Demetra. You can find four floors to explore, including a magnificent Banqueting Hall spanned by an amazing 28 foot arch, one of the biggest Norman arches in England.A good view with this space that is splendid be obtained through the Minstrels Gallery, built within the depth for the 12 foot walls.A see to your castle as well as its beautiful grounds is fantastic for a family group outing, and during the summer there are a selection of unique occasions which bring its colourful history alive, from jousts to outdoor theatre productions from the Globe!
