Folkestone Sea Sports

Come along to the black kiosk at the end of the Stade at Sunny Sands to try your hand at some sea sports. Theres paddle boarding and kayaking. The centre is part of the Shepway Sports Trust and is open from the May Day Bank Holiday every weekend, and on school holidays throughout the summer months.

All equipment is available at the centre wetsuits, spray jackets and safety helmets. Everyone must wear a buoyancy aid if they are going on the water, and these are available too.

FOLKESTONE BEACH If you have never kayaked or paddle boarded before you will play in the inner harbour and gain confidence. Once you are comfortable, future trips can be made into the bay at Sunny Sands. If you want to go further, then going in groups of three or more is permitted. Remember, it might look just around the corner, but going to The Warren from Folkestone beach is a 3 hour round-trip!

All primary schools in Folkestone have the opportunity to try out three water sports with the Folkestone Sea Sports team; paddle boarding, kayaking and also sailing in their Stratos which can seat up to 4 people.
