Surf Lessons in North Devon At Surf SUP Academy we run surf lessons across North Devon. We taylor our surf lessons to suit all abilities, from complete beginners to intermediates and advanced surfers wishing to brush up on their techniques. We are happy to accommodate students that wish to use their own equipment.

The times of our lessons will vary according to the tide, daylight hours and weather conditions.

1 x 2 hour group lesson (up to 8 people) = £30 (per person) 2 x 2 hour group lesson = £55 (£27.50 per lesson) 3 x 2 hour group lesson = £75 (£25 per lesson) 4 x 2 hour group lesson = £90 (£22.50 per lesson) 5 x 2 hour group lesson = £100 (£20 per lesson) Private surf lesson for 2 hours (1 person) = £70. Each additional person is £25

Westward Ho! Beach Westward Ho! has a vast stretch of beach in Bideford Bay, North Devon, well known for its iconic pebble ridge. Its neighboring town Bideford and next closest town Barnstable are busy with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, making the small seaside village of Westward Ho! the perfect surf holiday destination.

The Beach itself at Westward Ho! is a very uncrowded, beginner friendly break offering long gentle rides, perfect for people learning to surf for the first time, unlike nearby Croyde beach which is famous for its powerful waves, strong currents and large crowds, attracting advanced surfers from all over the world.

Stand up Paddle (SUP) Lessons North Devon Our Stand Up Paddle lessons vary depending on peoples abilities, from beginners on flat water, to more advanced and riding waves. We have many different areas in North Devon that we can use for lessons and depending on the conditions and tide at the time of the lesson, the location may change.

A meeting point will always be agreed when booking the lesson.

Pricing SUP 2 hour tour (1 person) = £80.00 SUP 2 hour tour (2 people) = £65.00 (per person) SUP 2 hour tour (3 people) = £55.00 (per person) SUP 2 hour tour (4+ people) = £50.00 (per person) SUP Sessions Our most popular sessions are our Torridge River sessions where we use the incoming or outgoing tide to take us up or down the river.

Two of our personal favourites are:-

The Bideford to Appledore cruise using the outgoing tide. The Little America to Little Amazon cruise using the incoming tide to go up the river and then when the tide turns we use the outgoing tide to come back down the river. Both of these routes are very scenic and have lots of things to see, as the river flows along the edge of forests, cliffs, rocky coves, shipwrecks, boats and villages.
