Great Staple dome sits at the back of the meadow and is fully insulated with a wood-burning stove to keep it toasty. 

Relax on the swing seat in the large decked area. Cook over your own fire pit by the stream, or use the large fully equipped kitchen. 

As always this dome has its own toilet and shower room.

Hound Tor Dome is isolated at the end of the meadow, sleeps 4, and is insulated with a wood-burning stove to keep it toasty.

Relax in the wood-fired hot tub, cook over the fire pit by the stream, or use the fully equipped kitchen, inc fridge. 

Like all our Domes it has its own bathroom and toilet.

Our facilities are basic and designed to be in keeping with the natural environment they are set in and to ensure they have minimal impact on the land. All totally off-grid, no electric hook-ups, no flushing toilets, just mother nature at her best.

Compost loo’s, heated showers and washing facilities are all offered up in rustic wooden huts, cleaned thoroughly, multiple times every day.  Please consider whether you can cope with compost loo’s before you book! Have a look at our photos below to see if it’s for you.

This part of Devon is known for its golden beaches, rolling hills, deep country lanes and the spectacular South West Coast Path. Just down the tidal lane are the beaches of East Portlemouth, where you can catch the passenger ferry across to the sailing town of Salcombe. Within a stones throw is our quaint and award-winning village pub, The Millbrook and the famously eccentric pub, The Pigs Nose Inn. Eat locally caught Salcombe crab, freshly baked Devon pasties and quench your thirst with some local cider … the traditional flavours of the Westcountry.

Located just 20 minute drive to the east of the city centre near the small village of Bovisand (and five minutes drive from Bovisand beach), Drakes View is all about keeping it simple. No flashy facilities or complicated set-up here: just a small number of grass pitches without toilets, showers or waste-disposal facilities (essentials like water are taken care of, though).

After gazing out over the cliffs and coves that make this part of Devon's coastline so scenic, you can head out for strolls along the South West Coast Path a quarter of a mile from the site, or stroll through the green countryside of the nearby South Hams, where all sorts of footpaths lie in wait.

It's not all about the scenery, though. This site is also a practical option, within a mile and a half of pubs, cafés and the various facilities around Plymouth Yacht Haven. Getting around by public transport is possible at Drakes View too, as this well-connected site is just under a mile from a local bus stop.
