Between Easter and end of September (weather permitting) we have a stunning Safari style tent. If you are looking for a unique and beautiful get away our tent is perfect for you. We can offer you camping but with the luxury of a comfortable double bed with bedding to relax in after a day exploring all the stunning Western Lakes has to offer. Step outside onto your own private decking for panoramic views of our local fells and straight towards Skiddaw. Inside the tent is a very comfortable double bed with bedding, bedside cabinet, Ratan rug on the floor, lighting from fairy lights on the ceiling and a bedside lamp, there is a toaster, kettle, 2x plates, bowls, mugs, cuttlery and a electric point. The tent is set up for upto 2 people sharing a double bed, there is room for a put up bed or travel cot to accommodate children, please get in touch with your requirements and I will be happy to help. Outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery is a table & chairs and chiminea.

Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life by staying on our family-run working farm, located in the rolling countryside of the Derwent Valley. All our cottages have outstanding views of the surrounding hills and countryside, and provide everything you require for a relaxing holiday.

Alongside our beautiful cottages we also offer a variety of camping experiences, we have a Camping and Caravanning club certificated site with 5 hardstanding pitches and camping pod which are open all year round, between Easter and end of September (weather permitting) we also offer 10 grass tent pitches, a Belle Tent and Safari tent. All of these use our purpose built toilet block and laundry facilities, fully under floor heated.

We pride ourselves on being child-friendly, pet-friendly and environment-friendly. We are lucky enough to have a natural tarn on our land that is a magnet for wildlife. From our specially built hide, you can spot nesting swans, geese, ducks and even the occasional otter. Barn owls roost in the eaves of one of the cottages and we regularly see red squirrels feeding in the grounds.

We have a number of fantastic camping pods on site! They're perfect for a spot of glamping. Each pod comes with electrical sockets, lighting, blinds for your privacy, decking to sit and enjoy a fire and a beer, an enclosed garden to allow your dogs to room free. Shared facilities and kitchen lean to with communal fridge, oven and microwave. Bedding can be provided for an additional charge.

Offering 15 pitches for caravans and tents, with amenities such as toilet and shower facilities, fresh water and electric hook up, this small family friendly site is the perfect for all of your camping needs. 

They certainly haven't forgotten about you glampers either, with snug glamping pods to tipis and bell tents, get away to the countryside in style! Fire up those barbeques, get cozy around those firepits and give yourself and your family a well deserved break to remember.  

The campsite is open all year round, with peak seasons starting in line with the school summer holidays. 

Dogs are welcome but please contact us should you wish to bring more than 2 dogs.

We are located at the north end of the small market town of Penrith. Penrith is a historic market town and an attractive tourist centre. Within the town there are many traditional and specialist food, clothing and gift shops as well as many cafes, restaurants and pubs. The museum and castle give a great insight into the history of Penrith. In addition to shopping and history, Penrith has many leisure and sporting facilities to offer as well as good bus and rail transport links for days out around Cumbria.

The toilet and shower block has hot showers and a shaver point. Additional facilities include a washing up area, waste disposal and recycling bins. 

The Park is pet friendly, but dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

Thacka Lea Caravan Park

When we found Kestrel Lodge we were immediately smitten with the area. We wanted to create a traditional camping ground with lots of home comforts. A hot shower, covered areas for rainy days and a place to clean muddy boots and canine friends.At Kestrel Lodge Campsite we allow campfires, as we know there is nothing nicer than relaxing around a roaring fire underneath the stars after a busy day out on the fells. We found Kestrel Lodge and fell in love with the area, we hope you do so too.
