Our Coppice Woodland glamping site is a collection of intertwined ‘rooms’. We let the site to one family or couple at a time so our unique glamping site offers exclusive use of our native two acre woodland. The romantic woodland site offers bathing under the stars in the indulgent wood fired hot tub. This is a great family event or something special just for two.

**Sleeping Arrangements**

A renovated 1973 VW camper van with a permanent full sized double bed at one end and a small children’s (up to about aged 6) bed at the other end (where the driver and passenger seats used to be)

A woodsman’s yurt with king size bed to sleep two or use as a living area.

**Bathroom**

a genuinely beautiful twin vault dry compost toilet (really!) and ‘bathroom’ (wood fired hot tub and solar shower).

**Useful things to know**

There is no power at the glampsite. There are solar lamps and solar fairy lights and torches. There are plugs in the potting shed a short walk away if you need to charge any devices during your stay.

   The glampsite is unheated, so please bring appropriate clothing, hot water bottles and extra duvets or sleeping bags during the winter months!

Coppice Woodland

The Secret Garden is perfect for a couple or can be used as a sister site to the Coppice Woodland for a larger group or two families. Our Secret Garden site has an earth sheltered cabin with kingsize bed and solar fairy lights. The woodland spa area hosts your own private wood fired hot tub while the covered swing pod and open hammock hang, both nestling amongst a wildflower meadow & fruit orchard, allows for outdoor relaxation whatever the weather.

There is no power at the glampsite. There are solar lamps, solar fairy lights and torches, also there are plugs in the potting shed if you need to charge any devices during your stay.
The glampsite is unheated, so please bring appropriate clothing during the winter months!

The Secret Garden

The Secret Garden has earth sheltered cabin with kingsize bed and solar fairy lights and a single bed that can be pulled out from underneath, a cedar shingle covered camp kitchen and dining area with nearby circular fire pit, herb garden and covered swing pod, your own private wood fired hot tub, solar shower and compost toilet.

 The Coppice Woodland is set in our native woodland has a classic VW campervan with a king sized bed, a Woodsman's yurt with a king sized bed, your own private wood fired hot tub, purpose built fire pit, pizza oven and woodland kitchen, cedar shingle covered dining area and compost toilet. 


Situated in Beards Oak Wood, which is 150m from the Farm Shop, Café and Pub, our rustic cabins are the perfect rural get away without the effort of camping – think of them as wooden tents with a proper bed and wood burner. 

Cabins are suitable for two adults and two children - each cabin has a double bed and camp beds can be provided for children (under 2 stay for free). Foggage Cabin & Foggage Field is a secluded cabin located in its own one-acre private field which is perfect for family groups. The views are amazing. Located in a lovely spot on the farm approximately 10 minutes from the main farm complex, there are two compost loos and a gas shower located in Foggage Field near the cabin for your private use.  Price includes Cabin and Field Hire - campers pay on top - price per person, per night.

Our rustic cabins are the perfect rural get away without the effort of camping – think of them as wooden tents with a proper bed and wood burner. Foggage Cabin is slightly smaller than the other cabins accommodating one small camp bed, plus the double bed, so two adults and one child in total. Under 2's stay for free.

A wood burner is in every cabin, ideal to for those chilly evenings. Logs can be purchased from the Farm Shop. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Parking is in Squitmore Field which is a minutes walk from Foggage Cabin.

Foggage Cabin & Foggage Field Hire (secluded cabin, includes own private field for groups)

Badgers Cabin is located in Upany Field accessible by the Sunken Lane – it’s away from other cabins and has great views over the fields. It is not unusual to wake up to a view of sheep outside the window and it is located near the badger sett so perfect as a hide to wait and see what comes by.

Badgers Cabin is suitable for two adults and two children - it has a double bed and camp beds can be provided for children (under 2 stay for free). Badgers Cabin

Pits Wood was planted in 2003, it’s a very pretty area to stay and an opportunity to see young woodland growing with developing ecosystems. Accessed through Vicarage Field and nestled amongst surrounding fields, Pits Wood is located near where many of the farm animals live so don’t be surprised to hear piglets grunting or chickens clucking. The wood is approx. 200m to the farm and access is possible with a car when fields are dry.

The ESSENTIALS Bell Tent package includes hire of a spacious canvas Bell Tent for up to 4 nights. Suitable for 2 adults and up to 3 children, the bell tent is not glamped and remember to bring your own bedding for this option :-).

As standard the bell tent comes with one double bed and two single mattresses (complete with new waterproof disposable mattress covers) and a third single camp bed can be provided on request. A small rustic wooden crate is provided for storage.

The farm is a place for quiet camping and enjoyment of the countryside and no amplified music of any kind is allowed at on site. Woods camping locations are limited and rotate around our woods throughout the season. In peak months we will be operating a pitch allocation system. Most of the time it is possible to drive a car to the woods - exception is in winter when fields are wet.

We run an open pitch campsite allowing customers to pitch where they wish in the camping field. Therefore, there is no guarantee you can pitch near friends / family, so it is highly advisable to book a private area if you want family & friends to be close by.

Church Farm Ardeley is an all-round family adventure; great fun for adults and kids alike! 

On your visit to the farm you will meet and feed our Red Poll Cattle, Lleyn and Welsh Black Mountain Sheep, Berkshire Pigs, British Lop Pigs, Aylesbury Ducks, Laying Chickens in Vicars Orchard, Chickens in Pits Wood, as well as Norfolk Black Turkeys and Embden Geese. There are nearly always chicks in the chick shed, lambs, piglets and calves to see too.

Around the grounds there is a good amount of flora and fauna with an orchard where you can pick your own fruit and veggies (seasonal), a magical fairy woodland, two ponds, a thriving home garden and three bee hives. 
We have seasonal activities for our visitors, such as lamb bottle feeding during Spring, and harvesting in September/October.  

Over the Easter, Summer, Halloween, Christmas and the half-term holidays we have special themed attractions, Easter egg hunts, trick or treating, meeting Father Christmas and so on. Alongside this, children can go on tractor rides, revel in the woodland play areas, follow the farm trail, play in the sand pit, plus lots more to see and explore! Indoors there is a soft play area for the under 5’s (currently Covid-19 restrictions are in place). 

The farm has a shop that is well-stocked. You can purchase delicious farm grown fruit, veggies and local meats. We also support the local community by offering a Rural Care Programme for adults with learning difficulties. The Rural Care team become Co-Farmers who gain valuable, real-life work experience on the Farm.  In addition, we have educational programs for schools, and for local businesses and forward-thinking leaders, we run motivational team building workshops for staff, groups and like-minded people.

If camping or glamping is your thing, you can do this too. Camp with us and you will sleep under the stars on a real working farm set in 170 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.  

We have a Farm Café and Pub which serves delicious meals, snacks and cakes (currently Covid-19 restrictions are in place). In the café we have a range of hot and cold drinks best served with fresh cake or sultana scones with cream and jam. For those with food intolerances, we have gluten and vegan options. The Jolly Waggoner’s Pub is a traditional free-house pub that serves real hearty food, real ales alongside a real fire.

Ours is a quiet site with beautiful sun sets, lots of birds, rabbits and trees.
If you love hot showers, state of the art washing facilities and games room for the children then we are NOT the site for you. There's no tarmac or pitch numbers here. We hark back to the good old days when caravanning was cheap and cheerful and you weren't charged extra for an awning, for your dog or just for being.

Cafe Kidz provides a double level multi color adventure play framework which features all the classic enjoyable features and padded gear one expects from contemporary soft play, from balls and slides to tunnels and bridges with safe padding and equipment that is clean. There was a separate mini play zone for the toddlers and crawlers providing smaller versions regarding the fun that is big some age appropriate toys and challenges of the very own including soft blocks and rockers. Plenty to keep individuals who are little and learning through enjoyable play. Plus their cafe is a treat fest specialising while they do in cakes and muffins, therefore be sure to have a breakfast that is healthier you're going to want the great stuff here! You can also book a children's birthday celebration here if you like which is available in two varieties: Buffet Play and Pizza Party! Both have party hosts, limitless drinks, led pass the parcel game and celebration bags with balloons connected. Ideal!

Cafe Kidz

The Lodge nature reserve's woodland, heath and acid grassland here cover 180 hectares, and they are being restored to make the stretch that is largest of heathland in Bedfordshire.Explore this attractive nature reserve along 8 kilometer of trails, find the Iron Age banking institutions and ditches on Galley Hill, go to the beautifully managed gardens, or view woodland wild birds from the hide. You can see a variety that is wide of species over summer and winter, including spotted flycatchers and hobbies throughout the summer time!There are lots of activities in the activities programme that are created simply for families, such as mini-beast safaris, plus RSPB Explorer Backpacks are available for children to utilize on the reserve. These contain binoculars, task booklets, bug watchers, and wildlife guides, and they are built to assist children discover, whilst having loads of fun!Dog owners please be aware that as a result of the nature that is painful and sensitive of, dogs are only permitted on the bridleway, maybe not one other paths.

The Play region at Shuttleworth offers special High Activity devices for older kids, brilliant for letting them stretch themselves physically and work with stability and endurance whilst having a laugh that is great!
