Eyemouth Museum living of fisher families was difficult with the wives gathering mussels, baiting the lines, mending the nets and house that is keeping the males visited sea. Perhaps the small children were involved before and after school. The ladies travelled with all the fleet gutting, salting and packing the herring directly into barrels, from since far north as Lerwick to Great Yarmouth in the south in the summer time.
