Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them.The skylight allows you to truly fall asleep under the stars, the only draw back is that you may be woken at first light so worth bringing sleeping eye mask.

The Shepherd’s Hut was bought by our great grandfather about sixty years ago and has been refurbished into a charming, small but cosy dwelling for 1-2 people.

It has the least space of all our accommodation but is certainly the snuggest with its own little wood burner. It sits in the far right corner of the meadow under an oak tree. The Orchard Wash House and Orchard Kitchen can be seen across the meadow a short walk away.

The hut comes with a double bedstead, lighting, mirror, and table at the end of the bed. Rugs, and pillows create a snug feel to the hut. Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them. The little log burner keeps this nice and snug in the Spring and Autumn months.

Once upon a time, this structure was used to store grain on the farm following the annual harvest in August.

Baloo 

This luxury bell tent is tucked between the Grain Silo and Colonel Hathi. It is approximately 100m from the main facilities, but hidden amongst the trees for a true woodland camping experience.

This luxury bell tent comes with a double bedstead with up to three mattresses on the floor. Also included are 2 bed side tables, lighting, mirror and table at the end of the bed. Carpets, rugs and pillows create a snug feel to the tent.Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them.

Please note interior furnishings are more or less the same in each dwelling.

Damages or Breakages - Any damage to site facilities or to our accommodation, including when our tents are left in an unsatisfactory state, will incur additional charges. This luxury bell tent is nestled amongst the trees at the back of the site in a secluded and peaceful spot. A little further to walk to the facilities but lovely and private!

Colonel Hathi

This 16ft traditionally crafted yurt has been beautifully handmade by a lovely chap from Somerset who has been building these structures for years. The olive colour of the canvas makes it blend in beautifully to its surroundings in the meadow. The yurt is positioned in the very centre of the site, a short distance from the facilities.

This yurt comes with a double bedstead and up to 3 mattresses on the floor. Also included are 2 bedside tables, lighting, mirror, and table at the end of the bed. Carpets, rugs, and pillows create a snug feel to the tent. Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them. The little log burner keeps this nice and snug in the Spring and Autumn months. The skylight allows you to truly fall asleep under the stars, the only draw back is that you may be woken at first light so worth bringing sleeping eye mask.

*Glamping in Colchester, Essex at Tey Brook Orchard is a wonderfully secluded spot tucked away between an apple orchard and 20 acres of woodland with acres of space to roam free.*

It is a fantastic spot to bring the children for a weekend in the countryside or to relax with a few friends around a campfire. We are just 50 minutes outside of London, by train, yet nestled peacefully in a tranquil rural setting.

We have an exciting range of quirky accommodation available to our guests, ranging from beautiful bell tents to handcrafted Mongolian Yurts.

Our larger dwellings are perfect for families and friends, whilst the refurbished Grain Silo and Shepherds Hut both make for particularly romantic abodes for couples. All accommodation comes with a private firepit/BBQ grill, picnic tables. Inside you will find a cosy double bed, furnishings and bedding. We can provide additional single mattresses in some accommodation allowing space for up to four or even five people to sleep comfortably under the stars.

*Kingfishers Nest is our second cosy cabin and is situated on the edge of a hidden lake with commanding views across the water. Surrounded by nature, this beautifully designed snug has a list of luxuries including a sauna, hot tub and a bath tub in the bedroom all with special views of the water.*

With a hot tub and sauna, overlooking the lake, there is really no reason to leave the property during your stay. However, if you fancy some exercise there are some beautiful walks in the neighbouring ancient woodland, a 10 minute walk from the cabin.

The property is designed for couples with an en-suite master bedroom, but with a chair and sofa bed available in the open plan living area, there is the flexibility to sleep an additional 2 guests.

**Damages & Breakages** - A holding deposit of £200 will be taken at the time of booking for any damage to the property, including when it is left in an unsatisfactory state and also any noise disturbance, so please ensure noise levels are kept to a sensible level. Please note that this deposit will be returned to you after your stay, providing there has been no damage or noise complaints. Any items left behind must be claimed within two weeks of departure. If relevant, postage and packing charges for the return of goods will apply. Please notify us of any damage or mess to the property or its contents before your departure.

**Recycling** - Please make use of the recycling facilities provided. We have recycling bins for glass & general waste. With no club and no pool, people who come to Fen Farm do so for the tranquil atmosphere and children often surprise themselves by finding an occupation that does not involve anything being switched on or booted up!

There are always the play areas with swings, seesaws, climbing frames etc. In addition to this, children enjoy ‘crabbing’ in the creeks, playing on the beach or in the sea. We also have an open field for ball games, flying kites or just walking the dog.

Dogs are welcome and there are dog walks all around the park. There are also many footpath walks nearby as well as a dog friendly beach. Ideal for people looking for a quiet family retreat, situated by the sea and close to a country park in a small village on Mersea Island. The Farm has been owned by the Lord family since 1918 and the first tents were pitched in 1923, so the park has grown rather than been developed.


Our aim is to run a peaceful, tranquil park therefore we do not accept bookings of 3 or more pitches. A group is defined by the number of units not the number of people in each unit. We politely ask that people do not make separate bookings and then form a group on arrival or congregate together on site during their stay.

Unfortunately, due to previous experience, we cannot accept bookings of groups of people under 21.

*Camp Chalkney comprises of 10 luxurious “Nomadic” bell tents situated in a secluded meadow perched on the edge of a beautiful lake.*

Each tent comes furnished with a double bed, full bedding and bath towels, blankets, cushions, matting and colourful rugs, a basic power supply for lighting and phone charging and low lying bedside tables. Additional single mattresses are added for 3-5 guests.

**Damages or Breakages** - **Any damage to site facilities or to our accommodation, including when our tents are left in an unsatisfactory state, will incur additional charges. This also includes any noise disturbance** so please ensure noise levels are kept to a sensible level otherwise you may also incur additional charges. Any **items left behind must be claimed within two weeks of departure.** If relevant, postage and packing charges for the return of goods will apply. Please notify us of any damage or mess to the tent or its contents before your departure. Guests are **not permitted** to remove any items from our dwellings. Please ensure you leave your accommodation in a clean and tidy state
 
**We do not accept bookings from unaccompanied adults aged 18 or under.**

**Campfires** - Campfires are only permitted in designated areas. There is one communal fire pit and each dwelling has its own small fire pit. Please do not make fires anywhere else on the site. **Any fires found outside of the designated areas will incur a charge.** Only timber supplied by us can be used. You are **not permitted** to use branches, debris, or other items you may see around the farmstead. All timber and similar flammable materials are the property of the owners. Please ensure you use your fire pit safely.

**BBQ** - Fire pits and grills are provided with each tent.  If any disposable BBQs are used, they must be kept off the grass and disposed of as directed by our staff.

**Noise** - We are a Low Noise Policy Site. Please consider other guests and keep noise to a minimum, especially after 21.00.

**Parking** - There is free parking next to the site. Your tariffs cover you for one car per dwelling. Additional cars incur a charge and must be parked in the car park. Please let us know if you wish to bring additional vehicles. No vehicles to be driven onto the site.

**Waste & Rubbish** - Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the toilets. Bins are provided – please make sure you use them. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Please empty any liquid waste into designated drain. Refuse area situated by the kitchen. Please do not drop litter. Please respect the site and treat our facilities with care.

**Recycling** - Please make use of the recycling facilities provided. We have recycling bins for glass & general waste. Please note that our general waste is collected by CSH Environmental who have a state-of-the-art recycling centre where all your general waste is sorted and recycled. Please ensure your children are accompanied at all times and be aware of the dangers. We are not responsible for the safety of your children.
 
**Emergency Numbers** - A list of emergency numbers is available in the kitchen.

**British Weather** - Camping in Britain can mean unpredictable weather. Whilst we supply certain facilities and equipment, it is still camping and you are responsible for your own well being and comfort regarding appropriate clothing and footwear etc. Be aware the tents are cotton canvas and in prolonged and heavy rain the tents may leak. Please keep windows and doors to the tents closed during rainfall to avoid water getting in. Browning Bros. cannot be held responsible for poor weather conditions during your stay.

The owners of the site are absolved of all liability for accidents, loss or damage to guests’ personal property. We reserve the right to ask guests not observing the conditions to leave the site without refunds and with immediate effect.

Woodup Pool, also known as Woodrolfe Pool is a very sodium that is basic bathing pool that even has its own small beach at one end! The pool can be obtained close to Woodrolfe Park flats and Woodrolfe Creek and it is a back to fundamentals pool that is natural no chlorine or any of the other stuff: ideal for young ones with epidermis conditions! It's available between might and September, and it is absolve to go to, which makes it a location that is fantastic take your small water infants for a splashtastic time!You will get to enjoy swimming in greeny grey expanse of water, overlooked by tilting masts, peeling hulls, and rickety sail lofts, but this just enhances the feeling of a conventional swim in a pool that is available since 1901!
