Also included are 2 bedside tables, lighting, furnishings, mirror, and table at the end of the bed. Carpets, rugs, and pillows create a snug feel to the tent. Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them.The skylight allows you to truly fall asleep under the stars, the only draw back is that you may be woken at first light so worth bringing sleeping eye mask.

The Shepherd’s Hut was bought by our great grandfather about sixty years ago and has been refurbished into a charming, small but cosy dwelling for 1-2 people.

It has the least space of all our accommodation but is certainly the snuggest with its own little wood burner. It sits in the far right corner of the meadow under an oak tree. The Orchard Wash House and Orchard Kitchen can be seen across the meadow a short walk away.

The hut comes with a double bedstead, lighting, mirror, and table at the end of the bed. Rugs, and pillows create a snug feel to the hut. Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them. The little log burner keeps this nice and snug in the Spring and Autumn months.

Once upon a time, this structure was used to store grain on the farm following the annual harvest in August.

Baloo 

This luxury bell tent is tucked between the Grain Silo and Colonel Hathi. It is approximately 100m from the main facilities, but hidden amongst the trees for a true woodland camping experience.

This luxury bell tent comes with a double bedstead with up to three mattresses on the floor. Also included are 2 bed side tables, lighting, mirror and table at the end of the bed. Carpets, rugs and pillows create a snug feel to the tent.Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them.

Please note interior furnishings are more or less the same in each dwelling.

Damages or Breakages - Any damage to site facilities or to our accommodation, including when our tents are left in an unsatisfactory state, will incur additional charges. This also includes any noise disturbance so please ensure noise levels are kept to a sensible level otherwise you may also incur additional charges. Any items left behind must be claimed within two weeks of departure. If relevant, postage and packing charges for the return of goods will apply. Please notify us of any damage or mess to the tent or its contents before your departure. Guests are not permitted to remove any items from our dwellings. BBQ - Fire pits and grills are provided with each tent. If any disposable BBQs are used, they must be kept off the grass and disposed of as directed by our staff.

Noise - We are a Low Noise Policy Site. Please consider other guests and keep noise to a minimum, especially after 21.00.

Parking - There is free parking next to the site. Your tariffs cover you for one car per dwelling. Additional cars incur a charge and must be parked in the car park. Please let us know if you wish to bring additional vehicles. No vehicles to be driven onto the site.

Waste & Rubbish - Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the toilets. Bins are provided – please make sure you use them. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Please empty any liquid waste into designated drain. Refuse area situated by the kitchen. Please do not drop litter. Colonel Hathi

This 16ft traditionally crafted yurt has been beautifully handmade by a lovely chap from Somerset who has been building these structures for years. The olive colour of the canvas makes it blend in beautifully to its surroundings in the meadow. The yurt is positioned in the very centre of the site, a short distance from the facilities.

This yurt comes with a double bedstead and up to 3 mattresses on the floor. Also included are 2 bedside tables, lighting, mirror, and table at the end of the bed. Carpets, rugs, and pillows create a snug feel to the tent. Bedding and bath towels are provided for as well as extra blankets should you need them. The little log burner keeps this nice and snug in the Spring and Autumn months. The skylight allows you to truly fall asleep under the stars, the only draw back is that you may be woken at first light so worth bringing sleeping eye mask.

Water Lily Lodge is approached down a country track and situated on the edge of a hidden lake, offering beautiful water front views. Enjoy the comfort and luxury this cabin has to offer surrounded by wildlife and nature.

With a hot tub positioned in front of the cabin, overlooking the lake, there is really no reason to leave the property during your stay. However, if you fancy some exercise there are some beautiful walks in the neighbouring ancient woodland, a 10 minute walk from the cabin.

With no club and no pool, people who come to Fen Farm do so for the tranquil atmosphere and children often surprise themselves by finding an occupation that does not involve anything being switched on or booted up!

There are always the play areas with swings, seesaws, climbing frames etc. In addition to this, children enjoy ‘crabbing’ in the creeks, playing on the beach or in the sea. We also have an open field for ball games, flying kites or just walking the dog.

Dogs are welcome and there are dog walks all around the park. There are also many footpath walks nearby as well as a dog friendly beach. Ideal for people looking for a quiet family retreat, situated by the sea and close to a country park in a small village on Mersea Island. The Farm has been owned by the Lord family since 1918 and the first tents were pitched in 1923, so the park has grown rather than been developed.


Our aim is to run a peaceful, tranquil park therefore we do not accept bookings of 3 or more pitches. A group is defined by the number of units not the number of people in each unit. We politely ask that people do not make separate bookings and then form a group on arrival or congregate together on site during their stay.

Unfortunately, due to previous experience, we cannot accept bookings of groups of people under 21.

*Camp Chalkney comprises of 10 luxurious “Nomadic” bell tents situated in a secluded meadow perched on the edge of a beautiful lake.*

Welcome to Chigborough Farm - A 130 acre rural oasis on the outskirts of the picturesque, historical market town of Maldon in Essex. Under an hour from London and just metres from the coast of the river Blackwater Estuary Chigborough is the perfect base to explore this stunning part of the Country. 

Chigborough is also home to Chigboro’ Fisheries - 30 acres of Fly Fishing for Trout Lakes and  30 acres of Coarse and Carp Lakes. The Raft at Chigborough, Birdsong Camp, Grebes Nest and Woodpecker Pods (Glamping accommodation)  Chigborough Campsite - a well equipped family campsite,  Lambton and Jackson - Producers of fine smoked Salmon, Rubino Kitchen-  an intimate Michelin guide listed Restaurant, The Farm Cafe by Black Pig in our beautiful, traditional Essex Barn, Paul Bloss - purveyor of fine, fresh seafood. 

Chigborough is home to the following activities subject to prior booking:-  Pottery Painting, Yoga, massage and complimentary therapies, Boxing, Fitness and Bootcamps, Stand-up Paddle Boarding, boating and rowing (residents only). 

Chigborough is a great base for our resident guests, cafe and restaurant customers to go walking and cycling from as it is on the National Cycle Network and close to the sea wall.
