Whitemoor Farm is set on a picturesque small farm overlooking the village of Bishops Tawton, just a couple of miles from the North Devon coast. It offers lovely views over the Taw Valley in a peaceful and tranquil setting surrounded by pasture, grazed by sheep.

Off the beaten track and away from traffic it is less than 2 miles from Barnstaple and 15 minutes drive from the beautiful sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and Putsborough Beach and also from the foothills and breath-taking scenery of the Exmoor National Park. There is easy access to the Tarka Trail and to National Cycleway 3 directly from the site.

**Whitemoor Camping** is set on a small, picturesque farm overlooking the village of Bishops Tawton in Devon.  With glorious views over the **Taw Valley**, the campsite is surrounded by fields grazed on by sheep and is just a few miles from the lovely north **Devon** coast. Whitemoor Farm is off the beaten track down a country lane and it is a rural and peaceful spot with no passing traffic.  The campsite has been kept natural and wild and the owners are keen to keep it that way; to respect the surrounding countryside and abundant wildlife and keep things beautiful and unspoilt.  It is a fuss-free, rustic campsite.  They welcome tents and campervans predominantly, but if you do have a caravan or motorhome then give them a call, as they can often accommodate larger vehicles if you book in advance.  

The tent pitches are a very good size indeed, and the site has bags of space on the grassy slopes for you to set up camp and relax.  Cars are kept off the main camping field, which means kids can roam safely to their heart’s content, and vehicle noise is kept to a minimum.  There is a well maintained utility block with flushing loos, hot showers, basins and a washing up area, and the drinking water onsite comes from a borehole, providing delicious naturally filtered Devon water.  A large open fire makes a great area to cook on and sit around, and there is also a plot for a bonfire.  The campsite has a good, old fashioned vibe of camping how it used to be.

It’s a brilliant place for a big gang.  The whole campsite can be **hired out exclusively** if you are looking for somewhere to have a get-together, family gathering or club meet up.  You can even get married here, in the lovely functions barn onsite, which is furnished and can be decked out beautifully for any occasion.  Aside from the main field there is a hidden camping plot down by the river in a secluded location, which can also be hired out for a minimum of 20 people. 

The location of Whitemoor camping is excellent, and while staying here there is absolutely loads to see and do without having to travel too far.  Less than 2 miles away is **Barnstaple**, the largest town in Devon on the banks of the River Taw and famous for its lovely narrow streets, fine buildings and the 13th Century Long Bridge.  For beaches, you are spoilt for choice, with the sandy shores of **Saunton Sands**, **Croyde** (great for surfing) and **Putsborough** only fifteen minutes away.  **The Tarka Trail** - a 180 mile traffic free cycling and walking route across North Devon and Exmoor - can be accessed directly from the campsite and will keep hikers and cyclists happy for days.  **Exmoor National Park**, with its breathtaking landscape of moorland, woodland, coast and rivers is also right on the doorstep.

Back at the campsite, you can choose to cook over one of the large open fires or wander into the local village of Bishops Tawton and have a delicious home cooked meal at the local pub - the Chichester Arms.  Whitemoor camping is a great, family friendly choice for those who are looking for a rural and well run campsite, nestled in some of Devon’s most lovely countryside.

There are no deligated pitches here, so you are free to pitch up wherever you like. 
Wake up to the wonderful fresh air of the countryside aswell as the chickens wishing you a good morning! 
The shared shower and toilets facilities are a short walk to the back of our farm, as well as a washing up area and a wood shed.
We also provide cooking equipment available.
You can hire a fire pit, wood and kindiling for a £8 fee.. all ready to toast those marshmellows and star gaze on a wonderful night here at the farm.

The Treyhill team know what they're about and that's sorting everything out so you can have as comfy and chilled a stay as possible in these scenic surrounds. They care about the details: flowers and herbs around the grounds adding scent and colour and fresh tea towels in the washing-up station. Across the cobbled courtyard the shared bathroom is bright, clean and cosy, kitted out with a big hot shower and an armchair.

The folks at the farm will supply you with pots, pans and any other necessities needed for your perfect home away from home stay.

Shepherds Hut

**Benton View Shepherds Hut** is located just outside **Exmoor National Park** near the village of Benton, right in the middle of the breathtakingly gorgeous north **Devon** countryside.  The very welcoming owners have created an oasis here on their working farm; a small and exclusive one-party **glamping** site, set in beautiful rolling green meadows, with a single **handcrafted shepherds hu**t for two, with fantastic views up to the moor and down to the sea.  Another tent is welcome if there are more than two in your party, but the site is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.

The location is very peaceful and wonderfully rural; the Shepherd’s hut sits proudly in the orchard on its cast wheels, with wooden steps leading up to the stable door.  It is surrounded by a low picket fence, so you won’t have any friendly goats joining you for dinner, and there is a well kept private garden with a barbeque area and a picnic bench for eating outdoors.  Inside the hut there is everything you need; a double bed for two, linen, a kitchenette with gas hob and sink, table and chairs and a log burner (with wood) to keep you cosy on chillier nights.  The shower and toilet are in a separate block and there is also access to a larger kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave should you need it.  Nothing has been forgotten.  The wood panelled shepherd's hut is beautifully furnished - tasteful but unfussy - with pretty curtains and cushions making it homely and warm, and a welcome pack with a few basics will be there on arrival.  Because of the sheep, lambs and goats on the farm, you will have to leave your doggy pal at home for this one….but there will be no shortage of other friendly animals to cuddle if you want to!

It is blissfully tranquil at Benton View.  Guests are allowed to wander around the 14 acres of farmland, help with the animals or just sit and relax in the peaceful surroundings.  For exploring North Devon you could not be in a better place.  It is just a few miles from Exmoor National Park, a stunning landscape of wild moors, wooded valleys and secluded walking trails - perfect for hikers - and some wonderful cycling routes too.  The **beaches** of North Devon are also very close by, including the sandy stretches at **Ilfracombe**, **Woolacombe** and Putsborough beach at **Croyde** - renowned as one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the south west.  Here you can swim and surf or have a go at something wild, like coasteering!  For a more relaxing day trip, hop aboard the **Lynton and Barnstaple steam train**; the only steam railway in the UK where you can travel in the actual Victorian carriages that were designed in the 1890’s.  Or take the boat from Illfracombe to the National Trust’s **Lundy Island,** home to a fascinating array of wildlife - including **puffins** - and some seriously dramatic scenery.

Back at Benton View, relax in your private garden at the Shepherds Hut, fire up the barbeque and watch the sun setting over spectacular scenery.  Exmoor was Europe’s first ever International Dark Sky Reserve, which makes it one of the best places in the UK for stargazing; so just sit back, and enjoy the view…..

As this is a completely rural location, well away from houses and amenities, the facilities are basic allowing you to experience true wild camping.  A main’s water tap providing fresh drinking water, a sink with cold water for washing up and toilet facilities are provided.  Showers are not available but you are welcome to bring your own portable one.

Extremely generously sized unmarked pitches so you can choose your favourite location. Up to 6 adults are allowed per pitch, booking a pitch includes two adults, a car and a dog. 

There is plenty of space for children to run around in and we also have toilets and cold mains water for drinking and washing up.



Cheglinch Camping

If you long for the days of good old fashioned camping, without all the bells, whistles and over manicured pitches, then wind your way through the rolling Devon countryside and settle yourselves into this absolute gem.  The rural setting is home to Cheglinch Farm Wild Camping, a campsite on the outskirts of a working farm and open only for a short time over the summer months, before returning back to agricultural farmland.  This lovely unspoiled spot is a taste of what camping used to be, where you can simply bring your tent, set up where you choose in a field unmarked by fenced off pitches, and enjoy stunning, far reaching views across the countryside.  Cows graze in the fields nearby and children are free to run about to their heart’s content.  You’ll need to bring all your own camping gear (although you can hire firepits) but provided here is exactly what you need and nothing more: a drinking water tap, toilet facilities and a sink to wash up; so for those looking for a truly authentic camping affair, this is it.  No showers, but with several excellent swimming beaches very close by on Devon’s beautiful coastline, it’s one exception that’s well worth making.  And you can always bring your own.  What you do get in return is a completely rural location - far away from the farm’s sister glamping site and other facilities - and space and tranquillity to enjoy something that many of us strive for every day.  The chance to just sit, relax, make a barbeque and watch the sun go down in a properly “wild” location.  With the gorgeous sandy beaches of Woolcoombe, Saunton, Ilfracombe and Croyde nearby, you have the beauty of both coastal and countryside settings.  And if you want to travel further afield, Exmoor National Park is only a 30 minute drive away. 
Also good to note that if you love the idea of wild camping here but you don't have a tent, you can hire one of their beautiful pre-erected Lotus Belle tents which are 5 metres in diameter and super spacious.  You'll still need to bring all your things for the inside, but the tricky bit is done for you!


Hidden away in the North Devon countryside, a treat awaits.  Only a short drive away from some of Devon’s most gorgeous sandy beaches is a family run dairy farm with some rather beautiful glamping accommodation.  The owners have created an absolute oasis here; a small and secluded glamping site, set in a sheltered field with a small, seasonal stream meandering through. There are only three boutique Lotus belle tents - each which sleep four people very comfortably indeed - so you can be sure of a quiet and relaxing stay. (A small single mattress or travel cot can be provided for a 5th little person).  Each tent is positioned in its own area of the field with a good sized outdoor seating area, a wood burning stove and a firepit - perfect for sitting around and keeping cosy in the evenings.  There is a private outdoor kitchen area with a gas barbeque, cooking equipment and crockery, and each tent also has its own shower and toilet.  Inside the belle tent, everything is made up and ready, with beautiful bedding, fairy lights and pretty furnishings…so you can just arrive, unpack and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.  The site is car-free (wheelbarrow your things in!) and off-grid, so kids can roam happily….and in the evenings, a lack of light pollution means beautifully starry skies.  There is also a play barn, packed with activities and games to play, as well as dining tables and chairs, a fridge and other things to make your stay stress free.  It is a wonderful place, a place to get away from it all, relax, unwind and appreciate all that is lovely about the outdoors.  Cheglinch Farm is teeming with local wildlife, not to mention all the farm animals; you might be lucky enough to watch the new calves being fed, collect eggs from the chickens or meet the resident guinea pigs.  And if you do want a day at the beach you are absolutely spoilt for choice here, with Ilfracombe just a few minutes drive away and the sandy shores of Woolacombe, the surf mecca of Croyde and Saunton also very close by.  A fantastic glamping site in a beautiful part of Devon.

We have fire pits, toilets and drinking water but no showers; this is a wonderful back to basics camping experience!  Either bring your own tent or book one of our pre-pitched, unfurnished Lotus Belle Tents.
