Threave Castle On an island into the River Dee stands Threave Castle, a huge century that is 14th built by Archibald the Grim, Lord of Galloway. The stronghold of this Ebony Douglases, it has at its base an artillery fortification built before 1455 when James II besieged the castle. A path and steep actions result in a boat that is little it unsuitable for visitors using a wheelchair or buggy. After a boat that is brief, more mobile visitors can visit the ticket office and curtain wall. The castle has actions which are high and out. Parking available about half a mile from the ship dock. Please enable fifteen minutes from the carpark to walk to your boat dock. The watercraft that is last at 16.30. Toilets offered at the engine car parking are adapted.
