The Dogwood Caravan

**Max. 2 Adults, 2 Children under 12**

Reached down a leafy lane lined with Oak trees, the yurt is a 20 foot diameter, felt-lined Ornate Turkmen built from Ash trees sourced from the Glyndebourne Forest and is of a strikingly beautiful construct. It has a 6 foot roof wheel which is great for lighting during the day and on clear nights gives fine views of the stars; it is also possible to partially open up the roof.

There are barn owls, badgers and rabbits for company and the surroundings are usually alive with birdsong, with an amazing morning and dusk chorus. Externally the yurt is surrounded by decking and is separated from the campsite in its own private space including a firepit and picnic table; there is parking very close by. Internally the yurt is decorated in an eclectic but chiefly Tibetan style.

The Bell Tent In The Wood

Tucked away amongst ash and willow trees and overlooking a bamboo-lined pond, the Dogwood Cabin is a haven of peace and tranquility.  The cosy, heated pine cabin is decorated in an Eastern-style and has a futon double bed with luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. This fully-insulated retreat has all the modern comforts glampers have come to expect – silent mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a compost loo – but with one unique difference. Nestled in the heart of the High Weald, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the cabin affords glampers the chance to experience a real back-to-nature visit. From the comfort of your cabin, you can just slide open the patio doors and let the birdsong fill the cabin as you watch our resident chickens or visiting ducks waddle past. There is even a suntrap meditation deck for those who enjoy quiet, reflective time. In the mornings you can order breakfast brought straight to your door. And at nights, after a meal at the pub, you can warm yourself with your own fire pit and toast marshmallows while looking out for shooting stars in our noted dark skies.

- Each bell tent has a decked terrace with a table, chairs, and BBQ.

- For your comfort, each bell tent has an additional floor covering on top of the groundsheet plus indoor and outdoor mats.

- The tent’s door and half-moon windows have fly screens so that you can keep cool yet private.

- To keep you warm, your tent is raised off the ground on a deck and your beds are raised within; we also supply an electric fan heater.

- Free WiFi is available throughout the park however, due to the park’s rural location you should not expect the speed you enjoy at home.

- Guests staying in our standard bell tents make use of the park’s communal facilities.

Bell Tent

Our non-electric pitches are all a little bit away from the central area and located either in the woodlands or close to the lake. These pitches are all grass and best suited to tents but there are a few suitable for campervans.

Oak Valley is a peaceful park welcoming families and kids, away from busy tourist hordes but easily accessible by car to Sussex and its surrounds. There’s loads of space here for small sorts (and big sorts) to run around, and a picnic area with tables and a barbecue for sizzling up lunch or dinner. Can’t be faffed? Two pubs serving food are close to the site.

The site amenities block has clean toilets and free hot water for showers; a washing-up area is also available for guests’ use.

Oak Valley Camping

The Faraway Tent Pitches are set in the forest further from other campers in a very scenic area of the campsite. There are single faraway pitches, two double pitches and the faraway mini-group area suitable for up to 6-8 families. All Faraway Pitches come with their own fire pit. All our pitches fit a 5-metre bell tent – for larger tents or multiple tents please contact the office to ensure we can allocate you a larger pitch.

There is a 150 plus metre walk to the main toilets and showers. However there are two compost toilets, two bucket showers and water points located close to the faraway pitches. The walk from the car park is approximately 300+ metres – large wheelbarrows are provided to assist you.

Due to access we do not allow any caravans or campervans – tents only please. You must supply all of your own camping equipment.

The Faraway Tent Pitch

The best view in the campsite…
The Valley View Pitch is located by itself on the crest of a hill, on one side of Bracken Valley. The pitch has a stunning view and is a more open, spacious pitch usually reserved for small groups. Two or more tents can be pitched together, whilst still being surrounded by woodland. The pitch comes with its own fire pit, log benches, a fire-grill and a sturdy wooden picnic table. There is a 100-metre walk to the toilets and shower. The walk to the pitch from the car park is approximately 70-80 metres – wheelbarrows are provided.

Due to access we do not allow any caravans or campervans – tents only please. You must supply all of your own camping equipment.

The Valley View Pitch

Your East Sussex glamping holiday is made easy when you stay in one of our spacious bell tents. Everything is set up for you and your camping kit is supplied.

Our ‘wild glamping’ option means a stay in one of our spacious pre-erected bell tents, with beds and cooking equipment provided. The East Sussex glamping option is perfect for families or couples. Two or three families can hire bell tents in the same area, or we are able to place extra bell tents up in this area to cater for up to five families. There are eight fully-furnished bell tents in total spread over our campsite.

We have more secluded bell tents, which can be requested when booking, although are subject to availability. We also have some bell tents located adjacent to tent pitches and a couple of the bell tents have room for friends to pitch right alongside.

Inside the bell tent we supply just about everything you will need including;

The Forest Tent Pitches are set within glades of the forest. There are various pitch sizes including single pitches, a small number of double pitches and the two larger mini-group areas suitable for three to five families. All Forest Tent Pitches have their own campfire pit. All our pitches fit a 5-metre bell tent – for larger tents or multiple tents please contact the office to ensure we can allocate you a larger pitch.

The walk from the car park is approximately 50-200 metres to the pitches – large wheelbarrows are provided to assist you. Due to access we do not allow any caravans or campervans – tents only please. You must supply all of your own camping equipment.

Forest Tent Pitch

Owners Terry and Lynda (and assisted by our lovely friend, the always smiling Nathan!) welcome you to visit Damson Field where you can BBQ, light your campfire in the evenings and chat, toast marshmallows
or sit and watch the twinkling night sky and listen to the sounds of nature. You won't believe just how many stars you can see! Wildlife is actively encouraged - there are badgers, deer and pheasant in the area - lovely sounds to hear while watching the sun set!


Motorhome Pitch

Damson Field is great for families looking for a relaxing get away. Noise is kept down so visitors can connect back with nature making it a great place for couples to unwind. There is a lovely big area in the middle of the field has been cleared for children to play in and if you are lucky you may find one or two big hay bales to climb on!
