About This Activity

Muir of Dinnet offers you to be able to see several habitats which are different their wildlife all in a single place. You can wander through birch woodlands, watching for damselflies or go to the Burn O'Vat, which is a deep, water carved bowl of rock that you can enter then increase through pinewoods and countryside that is open. The four different trails all begin from the Visitor Centre and consist of 1.3km to 6km whether you need a half one hour stroll or the one that lasts half the time so you can choose the best one for you. Often there is something to see, whatever period of the you visit 12 months. In Autumn the reserve turns gold and is filled with wintering birds and fungi. Winter is a frosted wonderland with huge icicles, flocks of finches and you may see an otter if you are happy. Springtime brings leaves that are new delicate flowers therefore the return of swallows and willow warblers and Summer is filled with honey scented heather, dragonflies and young wild birds and animals.
