Camping locations don’t come much more stately than this; in the grounds of the grand and very beautiful **Kelham Hall** in **Nottinghamshire**, this campsite is one with rather incredible surroundings. Kelham Hall - a Victorian house in 42 acres of gorgeous **landscaped gardens** - is open to the public and has a children's adventure playground, tennis courts, woodland trails and a cafe.  The campsite itself is nestled into one corner of the gardens, and has over 70 nice sized pitches set out spaciously on the large, well maintained grassy lawn.  The facilities are good, with a shower and toilet block, a washing up area, electric hook ups, a chemical disposal point and drinking water.  All are welcome here: tents, motorhomes, caravans and campervans and you can bring your dog along too.

If you want to explore the immediate area, there is so much to do in and around Kelham Hall and the surrounding Parkland.  Tours of the Hall itself are available and you can uncover the secrets of the past inhabitants of this extraordinary house and find out its significance in World War II.  The parkland and gardens are absolutely lovely too.  The **Woodland and Riverside Walk** in the Country Park is a lovely expedition and one for all the family, around 45 minutes long and takes in lots of sights including St Wilfrid’s Church, the monks graveyard and the Riverside Meadow and Garden.   More serious hikers can try out the **Kelham Hills Walk**; a three hour countryside trail showcasing some of Nottingham's most lovely countryside; rolling hills, woodland, farmland and along the River Trent.  If you fancy something a little bit different then how about venturing into the **Kelham Hall Escape Rooms** for an adrenaline pumping immersive experience to crack the clues and beat the clock.

Further afield there are some great family attractions and places to explore in Nottinghamshire. The legendary home of Robin Hood - **Sherwood Forest** - is a 20 minute drive away from Kelham Hall and a magical destination for everyone who wants to enjoy this ancient woodland (including the 1000 year old Major Oak) and experience a nature reserve which is home to hundreds of species of birds, insects, mammals and plants.  There are brilliant walking and cycling trails here and the excellent Visitor Centre will offer guidance and activity ideas for those looking to enjoy and record the things they spot in the forest. **Sherwood Pines** and **Robin Hood’s hideout** are excellent **adventure playgrounds** in the forest for children of all ages.

With the number of things to see and do at Kelham Hall Campsite it makes an absolutely superb location for a long holiday or short break.  There is even a pub right next door - the excellent **Fox Inn** - if you want a night off the cooking and don’t want to have to drive anywhere for your supper.  With both **Lincoln** and **Nottingham** close by, this centrally placed location is a ready made camping holiday with some fantastic activities, lots of wildlife, good countryside walks and so much more...all on your doorstep.  Just pitch up and relax.

Luxury Log 1 bedroom cabin

This very pretty riverside campsite is in the grounds of **The Old Vicarage** - a stunning 17th Century house in the village of **Elkesley** and close to the historic **Sherwood Forest**.  It is very conveniently located just off the A1, but the setting is rural and tranquil, with the elegant grounds of the grand house surrounding the site, and a shallow river running through it.  The Old Vicarage campsite is open all year round and has space for lots of tent pitches running right down to the banks of the River Poulter and it’s a pretty dreamy location (so dreamy in fact, that you can hire it out as a wedding venue).
The site is about having good old fashioned adventures and there is plenty of space around for just that, with a rope swing and stepping stones over the shallow river, the banks of which are lined with mature trees.  Go swimming, mess about by the river, or just relax in the attractive grounds, there is lots to do and explore here, and aside from being a very beautiful campsite, it is a fun place too.  Kids will love it.  Well behaved dogs are also welcome.

It is **grass pitches** only here with both electric and non electric options available, but if you haven’t got your own tent then they do have one very comfortable** log cabin** on site which can sleep up to six people and has its own bathroom.  The campsite amenities include toilets and hot showers, washing up area, disabled facilities and, rather excitingly, a **Cave Bar**, which is - quite literally - a bar carved into 500 year old sandstone rock; not a bad place to enjoy a drink (open usually at busy times of the year) and this also includes an area selling snacks and drinks and also where you can also buy nets and small rods for the river if you fancy having a spot of fishing.  Bring your own rubber ring and you can bob down the river, net in hand…..

As tempting as it is to lurk around the campsite grounds and swim in the river all day, the area surrounding The Old Vicarage is delightful.  There are **nature reserves** and animal parks to walk around and the stunning **Sherwood Forest** is just fifteen minutes away; this is where the adventures can really begin.  A good idea is to visit the Sherwood Forest Visitor centre first, so that you can get maps of the various trails and walks - some hikes are more strenuous than others!  You can also find out about **Robin Hood**, Sherwood Forest’s most famous resident  - and the facts, legends and folklore that surround him.  The kids can go on a wild outdoor adventure at the Sherwood Pines forest park and discover “Robin Hood’s Hideout”, a brilliant play area with treehouses and climbing frames.  The hideout is one of the two main adventure play areas in the forest park and they are connected by a fun walking trail.  There are also great opportunities for wildlife spotting too as you wander through the 450 acres of forest paths.

But Sherwood Forest is not the only attraction around here, there are masses of family friendly and fun days out.  There is Sundown Adventure Park, Ferry Farm Country Park, Idle Valley Nature Reserve, Hodsock Priory and the Bassetlaw museum to name a few.  The larger cities of Nottingham, Lincoln and Sheffield are also close by.

Back at The Old Vicarage, you can hire fire pits, BBQ’s and firewood if you need them and settle down for an evening around the campfire. A beautiful spot near Robbin Hood country.

Step back in time and imagine, the Romany travelers sitting on board this beautifully painted wagon as their horses pull them to a picturesque setting. This perfect little glamping option allows you to enjoy a holiday with a difference. 

Positioned on our ‘quiet side’ nestled within large conifer it is close enough to amenities like the toilet block but feels like your own secluded area with plants pots around, a camp fire and BBQ.

Our Romany Caravan delivers an experience like no other. The bow top, 4-berth, wagon sleeps two in a cosy traditional double bed. The caravan offers traditional interior, providing a dining area with a table, which easily converts into the comfortable double bed. Also, a cosy sitting area. The compact wagon also presents a toilet, hand basin, twin ring cooker, kitchen sink, and wardrobe among other storage facilities. Outside there are seats on the front of the wagon, a picnic bench, a BBQ and a camp fire.

 Bow Top Romany Caravan

Tan and Tethera, named after the traditional Lincolnshire sheep-counting rhyme, sleep up to 4 people each. Both Bell Tents include one double and two single beds to accommodate the whole family. Tan and Tethera, are located at the end of our Rally field.

Once booked, about 7 days before arrival  you will recieve an email stating which of the tents you are booked in, Tan or Tethera. We will alos send some site arrival information and infomation about the area and things to do.

The private cornered off area is home to the two Bell Tents each with its own facilities of; A fire pit, electric hook up, a toilet hut, a picnic table, an outside kitchen with a stove, sink cooking and eating equipment.

Our larger toilet and shower block is about a 2-5 minute walk from the bell tents.

What’s there:

-Sink with running water, washing up liquid, a sponge and washing up cloth.

-Beds (a double and two singles), pillows with protectors and mattress protectors.

-Kitchen and eating equipment such as a stove, pans, cutlery, plates, bottle opener etc. 

-Small Toilet hut with soap and toilet roll.

-Firepit with one bin full of wood and some paper. (We suggest you bring firelighters to make lighting the fire easier)

-A cool box. Freezer packs are available to freeze your own or hire in the reception/laundry area for a very small additional charge.

What to bring:

-Everything you would usually pack when staying in self-catering accommodation i.e. clothes, toiletries, towels, food (no seasonings or oil provided), etc.

-Bedding: Bottom sheets, quilts and covers or sleeping bags, pillowcases.

-A good torch. We do have lighting around the bell tents and a portable battery light but we highly recommend you bring your own too.

Our Traditional Scandinavian Log Cabins are hidden amongst a grove of conifer trees and offer the perfect retreat for a relaxing getaway. Both our, Arthur Sims and Isaac Newton, self-catering Log Cabins offer full gas radiator central heating. They each sleep up to six people. They are made up of a double bedroom, twin bedroom, and children’s bunk bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen, large lounge-diner, veranda and enclosed outside area. Each log cabin also has WIFI.

The lounges in each log cabin contain; central heating, two sofas, a table and six chairs, Freeview TV with Netflix, Rakuten TV, I player etc with 1000’s of TV shows and films, board games and a selection of books.

The kitchens include a gas cooker, small dishwasher, microwave, and fridge-freezer. Also, the cabins include tea and coffee making facilities, as well as ample cooking utensils and tableware. Washing machines and tumble dryers are located in the main campsites' laundry room.

Outside, each log cabin boasts a veranda with a table, six chairs and a rocking chair. Also, an outdoor BBQ is available at the cabins, in an enclosed area, perfect for enjoying our tranquil location with your loved ones and four-legged friends.

Set in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, this relaxing campsite has three areas you can pitch on depending on your requirements. We are a family-friendly site and offer facilities to accommodate guests of all ages. 

This field has four electric pitches A, B, C & D that are fixed pitches but apart from that none electric pitches do have pitch numbers therefore if you book a pitch here, when you arrive you can pitch up where you like around the edge of the field. (Except the hedge nearest the farmhouse)

Historically for camping rallies (hence the name), this field is perfect for groups that would all like to be next to each other and do not need electricity.

Rally Field - Non-Electric

This section of the site is for adults (18+) only who would like a quiet area on site.

Set in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, this relaxing campsite has three areas you can pitch on depending on your requirements. We are a family-friendly site and offer facilities to accommodate guests of all ages. 

The nature of the area with large conifer trees does mean the pitches are quite shaded, if you are just adults but looking for a sunnier pitch you are more than welcome to book a family field pitch. 

Quiet side (Adults Only) - Electric Pitch

Set in the peaceful Lincolnshire countryside, this relaxing campsite has three areas you can pitch on depending on your requirements. We are a family-friendly site and offer facilities to accommodate guests of all ages. 

This field has a mixture of electric and none electric pitches.

Yan and Pethera, named after the traditional Lincolnshire sheep-counting rhyme, sleep up to 4 people each. Each bell tent is a traditional 5 metres round tent with a suitable indoor tent flooring. The tents are empty so you can personalise your camping experience by bringing your own comfy blow-up beds etc and make the space your own without packing and putting up a tent (please see what to bring below).

Once booked, about 7 days before arrival  you will recieve an email stating which of the tents you are booked in, Yan or Pethera. We will alos send some site arrival information and infomation about the area and things to do.

What to bring:

Think of staying in our basic bell tents as camping but without having to take the tent, so you can make the space as luxurious or as basic as you like (not an exhaustive list).

Some tips on the kind of things we’d pack:

-Everything you would usually pack when camping i.e. clothes, toiletries, towels, food (no seasonings or oil provided), etc.

-Beds (or mats) and Bedding: Sleeping bags, or quilts, pillows, blankets etc.

-Seating for eating dinner.

Yan & Pethera Un-Furnished Basic Glamping Bell Tents

The glamping pod, also known as The Ark, is uniquely insulated and is an excellent way to engage with the great outdoors all year round. It is placed in a clearing of conifer trees, in your own little hidden area so you it really is tranquil and relaxing with birdsong in the mornings. 

The Ark’s clearing includes decking, an outdoor living kitchen and toilet facilities in addition to a picnic area and seating. 

The larger toiler and shower block are about a five minute or less walk away.

You will need to bring your own bedding (see below for what to bring). 

**What to bring:**

-Everything you would usually pack when staying in self-catering accommodation i.e. clothes, toiletries, towels, food (no seasonings or oil provided), etc.

-Bedding: Bottom sheets, quilts and covers or sleeping bags, pillowcases.
