Hidden away on Rye Hill Farm near Hexham, is one of the most secluded, small campsites in Northumberland - guests have described it as "our secret" and "a gem”. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings, then you’ll love our campsite. It’s ideal for children and adults who enjoy country life and you can explore our working farm with its sheep, ponies and free-range chickens. Our farm is in Slaley near Hexham, deep in the heart of the beautiful Northumberland countryside and, is within the North Pennines AONB and, is close to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. Our campsite is ideally placed for visiting Slaley Hall, Hadrian's Wall UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hexham and Corbridge, and for walking and cycling on the North Pennine Moors AONB and in Kielder Forest.
We have a small field area, specifically allocated to camping and caravanning. It is a well-maintained grassy campsite - quiet and level with access via a tarmacked lane. It is sheltered by mature beech trees to the west and surrounded by open farm land enabling campers to appreciate the grand panoramic views of Northumberland. Camping on this grassy site is weather dependant and because it is small, numbers are restricted. It is best to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Please note that this site is a Certificated Caravan and Camping Club Site and guests must be members however, membership can be bought on site.
