The Shack - Shipping Container

At The Shires Park we are a small, friendly caravan and camping site nestled in the glorious county of Hereford & bordering Shropshire. The park has picturesque views of the surrounding countryside with rolling hills and stunning tree lines. It is a great place to get away from it all but also a perfect base to explore everything Herefordshire and Shropshire have to offer. 

Children are very welcome at The Shires Park so it is a great place for a family break. We also love seeing your canine companions, our only ask is that you keep your dogs on a lead at all times. We do provide dog bins on-site. 

At present we do not have electric hook ups. Hook ups will be installed this year & we will then update the website.

The Shires Park

Our 2 dedicated camper van pitches are situated in our natural 5-acre meadow. This gently sloping south-facing meadow where the pitches are mown into the long grass is ideal for families.

The Meadow 

Welcome to Birchwood Camping, Old Hall Farm, a small secluded site in the hamlet of Hatfield on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border.
We are a small family run site with just 11 pitches set out over 6.5 acres of picturesque farmland giving everyone plenty of space. A further 26 acres of traditional pastureland are freely accessible to visitors with far-reaching views towards mid-Wales. Our season runs from May 1st through to October 31st.

Birchwood Fishing and Camping is a lovely quiet campsite set in the surrounding countryside of Skegness. For Tents, Tourers or Day Fishing.

The site is naturally divided by ancient hedgerows into two distinct areas, an open meadow adjacent to the main shower/toilet facilities with 6 pitches inc one designated for camper vans. 

A second area “The Quarry” is more secluded with just 4 pitches and is bordered by a stream, a disused steam railway embankment and the remnants of ancient quarry working.

Whether a family or couple seeking to reconnect with nature, as proud members of the Greener Camping Club Birchwood Camping offers a unique camping experience including the option of a real campfire.

There is plenty to do in the locality including horse riding, golf, fishing, walking, visiting antique centres, national trust properties, Although in a rural position we are just minutes away from the three market towns of Leominster, Bromyard and Tenbury Wells.

Birchwood Camping

New for 2022 - Crispin sleeps 4 people with a double bed and two single bunk beds. there is also an adjacent hut for dining and relaxing in. The bedroom has a woodturning stove to keep you cosy at night and both ave solar lighting. We aim to make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible so we provide luxury bedding. As with all out accommodations we provide luxury bedding, all crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment. (more images to follow!)

The shower and toilet block is a short distance from the huts and is in keeping with the ‘glamping’ feel of the site, with hot showers, flushing loos and washing up facilities, we hope this will add to the luxury of your glamping holiday.

Bramley sleeps 4 comfortably with a luxury double bed and 2 single beds but we also have an extra roll out mattress if you are happy to squeeze in. We aim to make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible so we provide luxury bedding. You will have your own private campfire space and dining area and each yurt has a woodburning stove to keep you cosy at night.

The shower and toilet block is only a short distance from the yurt and is in keeping with the ‘glamping’ feel of the site, with hot showers, flushing loos and washing up facilities, we hope this will add to the luxury of your glamping holiday. The yurts all have solar powered lamps for the evenings.

Bramley Yurt

Bess sleeps 4 comfortably with a double and 2 single beds. If your family is larger than 2 children we can also provide a roll out mattresses to accommodate. We aim to make your visit as easy and comfortable as possible so provide luxury bedding. You will have your own private campfire space and outdoor dining area and each yurt has a woodburning stove to keep you cosy at night. There is solar lighting to extend the evenings inside the yurt.

Pippin Yurt

Russet is set in a small apple orchard, tucked away in it’s own private field. Russet sleeps 4 people with a double bed and two singles but we can always add an additional bed for larger families. Should you wish to bring friends or additional family members on holiday we can also put up a Bell Tent which will sleep an additional 3 people and you would bring your own bedding etc. Please contact us directly if you would like to discuss this.

Welcome to Valley Yurts. Valley Yurts sit upon 10 acres of wild Welsh countryside, on the border of Herefordshire and Powys. Our yurts are beautifully hand-crafted from sustainable ash, with a stunning crown in the centre to stargaze at night. We are also only 40min away from Builth Wells, host town of the largest Agricultural Show in the UK, the Royal Welsh Show. 

Glamping for us is to be able to experience traditional camping but with the comfort of a home away from home. It means not having to bring all your own equipment. It means arriving and starting your holiday with no putting up tents, no unpacking a full car after a long journey, just starting straight in to enjoy the benefits of relaxing in the countryside. We believe it is important to be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside so we do not take any bookings from very large groups, hen parties or stag dos. Our idea of the joy of camping is to be able to cook outdoors, eat under the stars and relax with family and friends. Our hens lay fresh eggs daily which you can collect yourself when they provide them! We have recently added 2 gorgeous baby pygmy goats to the Valley Yurts Family and new for 2022 is a cosy Shepherds Hut Accommodation with a bedroom and dining hut adjacent to each other with all the facilities the other yurts enjoy. There are 10 acres for you to enjoy, so plenty of space to explore, play and relax with 360 degree views of the beautiful Welsh countryside.

In a pretty setting on a bend in the River Wye, looking across to the Herefordshire hills, this delightful church enjoys a rich collection of monuments, beautiful stained glass windows as well as an unusual 17th-century font and the carvings on the medieval stalls.

The Scudamore family were patrons of the church from Medieval times until the twentieth century, and their monuments are a spectacular treasure. John Scudamore, who died in 1571 lies beside his wife on a tomb chest, decked out in full armour. James Scudamore, who died in 1668, wears Roman costume in a great wedding cake of a wall monument – possibly by Grinling Gibbons. Beautiful stained glass also delights the eye. Most of it is nineteenth and twentieth century, though the chancel north window is made up of fragments of medieval glass.
