Epping Forest is, at 6,000 acres, the public that is biggest available area into the London area and stretches a massive 12 miles from Manor Park in East London to just north of Epping in Essex! And a whopping two thirds from it is designated both a website of Special Scientific Interest and a Special section of Conservation, so it is some pretty woodland that is unique plus some fantastic mini beast safaris!These times Epping Forest combines a contemporary visitor centre experience with it's established functions of scenic available area, essential wildlife habitat and family adventure destination.There are 3 dedicated Forest Centres spread across Epping Forest offering opportunities to touch base and find out about the historic structures: Epping Forest Visitor Centre within the north at High Beach, a well known beauty spot perfect for picnicking; Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge in Chingford, that is an old Tudor timber look; plus in the south, The Temple, dating from the 1760s, set in Wanstead Park, once the formal gardens of this magnificent Wanstead House.
