Our tranquil, picturesque park is found regarding the north Cornwall shore in a hamlet that is secluded. Cornwall Surf Academy has been providing quality surf lessons since 2003. The CSA team is made of quality and enthusiastic surf instructors, all with ISA (International Surfing Association) and beach lifeguard training. A single two hour surf lesson teaches you the very essence of surfing, the two major skills that every surfer needs to know; how to catch waves and how to stand on your board. It is the perfect entry into the sport and lifestyle! We are one of the closest Surf Schools to Truro and St Austell so conveniently located in the National Trust beach of Holywell Bay a beautiful and relaxed location away from the busy crowded main beach resorts.

On the day

We will meet at the surf location before getting you all suited up and ready to go. Once on the beach the most important thing to us is your safety so we begin with a compulsory safety brief..
We then concentrate on the techniques involved with catching waves and standing up on your board. We appreciate that you are probably itching to get in the water so we dont spend too much time on the beach however it is important to learn the basics on the stable platform that the beach offers before heading into the surf to give it a go!

In the first few sessions you wont be any deeper than chest deep water, there is plenty to learn and once youve mastered the basics we can take
you a bit deeper.

Dont forget to smile throughout your session as you may well be photographed so that you can impress your mates with some evidence of you standing up for the first time! It is an amazing feeling so come and give it a go for yourself.

Addressing your safety concerns:

All instructors at Cornwall Surf Academy are; CRB Checked, life guard trained and are qualified up to ISA (International Surfing Association) standards.

Group Sizes: We take all group sizes, however during water work, we insist on the ISA (international Surfing Association) recommended ratio of 1:8 (1 instructor to 8 students).

Experience Cornwalls beautiful coastline like never before exploring secluded beaches, secret caves and if youre lucky you might meet our friend Sammy the seal, who likes to get up close and personal! Coasteering is one of the UKs fastest growing sports and it all started in Cornwall! It involves traversing around a section of coast by climbing, jumping, swimming and scrambling. For you thrill seekers.&. experience the thrill and adrenalin with optional cliff jumping, not for the faint hearted!!

Our instructors are passionate, enthusiastic and most important are all fully qualified and trained lifeguards. You can be sure that with our in depth knowledge and experience, we will be able to give you the very best thrill seekers day out possible!

Your safety is our priority which is why you will of course be provided with all the latest safety equipment. All you will need to bring with you will be some old footwear, a swimming costume/shorts and most important &. lots of energy and enthusiasm!! For this extreme adventure you will need to be 12 years old + and have the ability to swim 50m unaided.

All of our sessions are approximately 3 hours and prices include all equipment:

On the Day:

We will meet at the specified coasteering location before getting in to wetsuits ready to go. We appreciate that youll be keen to get scrambling, swimming and jumping, however, the most important thing to us is your safety so we begin with a compulsary safety brief. Youll also learn the basics of coasteering to enable you to get the most out of your experience and have an action packed day.

Detailed lesson structure:

Demonstrations of safe water entry and exit
How to traverse around rocks and other techniques required on route
Practice safe entry and exit and very small jumps, almost level with the water to start to build your confidence as the jumps get higher and higher throughout the session
Follow the guide leader via traversing, swimming and scrambling via the route which includes secret caves, and jumping from cliffs from heights comfortable to you, for those who want to push the limits, go as high as you dare!
The session finishes back at the meeting point for de brief and then let the stories unfold of the exhilarating experience you were just part of.

Beginner Lessons to Advanced Coaching. Small groups, amazing coaches & top quality equipment. Most beginners stand in their first lesson! All lessons include 2-hours tuition on the beach, please allow additional time for checking in, changing and walking to the waters edge.

2 lessons (Full-Day or split days) - &pound;68 per person
Available to any ability, choose from either 2x surf lessons or mix it up with 1 surf and 1 Stand-Up-Paddleboarding (SUP) Tour. Timings all depend on the tide, you can book online by using the form above or get in touch for more accurate info on timings.

Taster Course - 3 lessons - &pound;95 per person
Highly recommended for all abilities. By taking a course of 3 lessons your coach will really get to know you and your surfing, this enables us to tailor all the techniques specifically to you, ensuring that your surfing level goes through the roof! Use the form above to book your first lesson, then we'll arrange the rest with you on arrival to work around your holiday and make the most of the wave conditions on offer.

Progressor Course - 4 lessons - &pound;120 per person
Spread over as many days as you'd like, ideal if you've got other activities planned in your week away. Interchange surfing, bodyboarding or Stand-Up-Paddleboarding (SUP) if you really want to mix things up. By the end of the 4 lessons we'll aim to have you confidently riding the majority of waves you catch, turning both ways and maybe even pushing further out to catch and ride some unbroken 'green' waves!

 Surf Camp - 5 lessons - &pound;140 per person

If you really want to make the most of your time in Cornwall then you cant beat this incredible offer. A full week of top coaching, guaranteed to take your surfing to new levels! We recommend a lesson every day but if you want to really go for it and try to squeeze them into 3 days then bring a ton of energy! We'll aim to keep you with the same coach for the entire course wherever possible - by the end of the course we'll aim to give you the skills to ride unbroken waves, keep yourself safe and all the other skills to make you a proper surfer!

Private Family Lesson - &pound;150 (up to 4 surfers)
An amazing private surf session for you and your family. Feel free to bring more people along if you've got a bigger family, just add an extra &pound;25 per person. Highly recommended if you've got any aspiring surfers younger than 8 years old.

1-to-1 lesson - &pound;75
If you have something specific you want to work on with your surfing, you feel you need some incredibly focused coaching or even if youre feeling a little shy and dont want to be in a crowd then a private lesson could be for you.
