Avondale Holiday Flats are self establishments which can be catering in Scarborough. Flats 1,2,4 and 6 have considerable sea views. Flats 1 and 7 are ground-floor flats with 4'6 wall sleep, lounge/kitchen area. Shower/toilet room.Flats 2 and 4 are bay-windowed flats overlooking the sea, comprising of lounge with 4'6 wall set and bed of 3' cabin beds, cottage suite, wardrobe and sink. Individual kitchen/dining room and shower/toilet room.Flats 3 and 5 are 2 roomed flats comprising of lounge, kitchen/dining area. Separate room with double 4'6 bed optional 2 bed open to rest individual that is 3rd shower/toilet room.Penthouse flat 6 (rests 6) contains lounge with 4'6 wall sleep, kitchen/dining area, split room containing double bed and set of 3' cabin beds wardrobes, en-suite bathroom with vanity units. Separate clean and bathroom basin situated on landing. Flats available from 2pm on arrival and must be vacated by 10am on departure. We regret we're not able to simply take animals.Totally non-smoking.

The Whiteley

The Whiteley Hotel is a guest house accommodation positioned in Scarborough. Little resort that is family-run in an elevated position overlooking the North Bay and near the city centre. Our private surf lessons for beginners are done in small, privately booked groups to allow us to focus entirely on your surfing so that you get the most out of your lesson. You can come alone, or with a few friends.

We will help you develop a plan for improvement and youll leave us with a clear direction of what to do next.

As the instructor to student ratio is much smaller, we get to spend more time one-on-one with you, and are able to provide much more direct feedback than we would in a larger group lesson. This helps your surfing skills to progress faster.

It doesnt matter if youre a total beginner, or if youve been riding a while and are struggling to get to that next level, we have instructors for your level of surfing. If youre wanting more advanced tuition, try our Progressive and Advanced Surf Lessons instead.

We are accredited by Surfing England the UKs National Governing Body, and all of our instructors are highly qualified, so you can be sure you are in safe hands.

Explore the coastline, stop off and have a picnic or maybe take a dip&. What better way to see the jurassic coastline of the East Coast?
We only do sit-on-top kayak as these are perfect for exploring, very stable and easy to use  you wont need any previous experience.

3 hours is usually plenty of time to see the best locations and find a number of explorable places.

Kayaking is a fantastic and easy introduction to life on the sea. If you are a beginner, its pretty easy to pick up and if you already have confidence in them, theyre a great way of seeing the coastline! We currently hire a stock of sit on top rigid kayaks and all the equipment you will need for hours of fun in the water! Buoyancy aids are available upon request, and lessons are available too.

Dexters Surf Shop is positioned perfectly for Kayaking at North Bay. Our shop, School and Hire Centre is open 7 days a week and is a mere 30-second walk from the beach. There is free access to indoor hot showers, multiple changing rooms and free lockers to keep your stuff safe while youre in the water.

Wake Boarding in Scarborough is without a doubt one of our best activities. It doesnt matter what age you are or how advanced your boarding skills  wakeboarding is seriously fun and dangerously addictive. If youre a thrill-seeking individual or a group of adrenaline junkies you couldnt be in more capable hands than with the Dexters team. Whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned professional, Dexters can provide the equipment, tuition and professionalism that will enable you to get the most out of your coaching session.

Wakeboarding is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. It is particularly popular with youngsters as the skills transfer easily from other board sports such as skateboarding or snowboarding, and the basics can be learnt quickly.

As a beginner, you shouldnt feel intimidated by other, more experienced boarders on the water. We all started in the same situation! At Dexters our professional riders will help you find your legs and feel at ease on the water  gradually building your confidence to tackle harder disciplines.

Our aim is to have you up and riding the wake for a short distance in your very first lesson.we hope youll find the atmosphere relaxed and non-intimidating, and our instructors encouraging and inspiring. Please beware: wakeboarding is highly addictive and will change your life! We offer two different sessions shown below.

Wakeboard Taster Session
Who is this session best for?
Great for more adventurous beginners from 12 years old or those with previous boardsports experience.

What does this session include?
This session includes a short safety brief at the beginning plus wakeboard hire along with wetsuit hire/ buoyancy aid/ helmet hire.

About this session
This session will give you chance to start out on a kneeboard. Once you have competently using the kneeboard you will be able to pick up your wakeboard and give wakeboarding a try!

Progressing to Wake boarding
Progression to wakeboarding depends a lot on your level of fitness and previous experience. Most people will get the chance to start learning how to start from the dock on a wakeboard during this session and will get to experience the buzz of wakeboarding riding down the first straight of the cable course, possibly progressing to navigating the corners of the cable. If you want to take things a little slower, book the Cable Pass ( kneeboard Introduction) and come back again next time to hire a wakeboard.

Please note that this is not a formal kneeboarding or wakeboarding lesson with a dedicated instructor throughout the session  its a fun way to give kneeboarding and wakeboarding a go yourself after an initial safety brief.

This improvers wakeboarding course is the perfect way to improve your wakeboarding skills and learn some new and exciting tricks! This course aims to get you to the level where you can complete the corners and attempt some tricks.

Jet Ski Safari Tours
Jet Ski Safari in Scarborough is one of our best activities. With Dexters you will cover 15-20 miles on our ultimate safari or 10-12 miles on our mini Safari. You will travel along some of the best coastal scenery in Yorkshire on the latest Seadoo. The safari experience gives you all the benefits of Jet Ski hire with one of our friendly Jet Ski instructors to show you the sights of the East Coast, departing from North Bay beach in Scarborough.

You will see secluded beaches, remote coves and ride around dramatic cliffs. You may also be lucky enough to spot some of our local wildlife including seals, sunfish, puffins and more!

Each time our Jet Ski instructors take to the water they try to offer you something different! As the coastline is forever changing, so are the sea conditions. Whether this is your first Jet Ski Safari or the 100th time when you take to the water with us, be sure to expect something new and exciting! If you are heading up the coast, you will see iconic beaches such as Jacksons Bay from a unique perspective. If heading down the coast on a Jet Ski Safari you will pass by Filey beach and Cayton Bay. You may even get the best of both worlds and see a selection of amazing beaches both north and south of Scarborough.

No previous experience is required to take part in the Mini Jet Ski Safari, and all necessary equipment is provided.
