The views from every inch of the camping pitches at Oaktree-Lane are truly unbeatable making it the ideal spot to decompress and soak it all up.  Each pitch comes with its very own private shower room with a power shower for a truly luxurious camping experience without any late night queuing for the loo.  Facilities are cleaned and replenished daily for your comfort.

Our camping pitches enjoy a wonderful location in the same luscious green field as our Mongolian Yurt and Lodges.  We welcome only two camping bookings at any one time so you have plenty of room to spread out, never feel over crowded and have beautifully uninterrupted long reaching views across Dartmoor to enjoy during your Devon camping adventure. 

Campers and Glampers alike have full use of the whole of our camping space during their stay including our lovely shared campfire area. Gather the whole family around the fire pit and while away those balmy summer nights, watching the sun dip low over Dartmoor.  Roast your marshmallows, enjoy a cold beer or bring along your instruments and sing some classic camp tunes! 

We have a dedicated parking area to keep Oaktree-Lane safe and free from unnecessary traffic. However, on arrival we welcome you to drive your vehicle into the camping area to unload your kit for the week, let the children out for a good run and pitch up your tent.

Coir matting is also provided in each wooden lodge, creating comfort and keeping your toes warm whatever the weather. A wood burner provides complete warmth and cosiness and a real sense of being tucked away from the rest of the world.

As well as all of the cosy bedding you could wish for, our wooden lodges boasts private decking areas with a picnic bench and BBQ for that ultimate al fresco dining experience – a perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors and those unbeatable views. A complimentary bag of kiln logs is provided on arrival to get you started.

Our eco-friendly approach has awarded us Bronze and Silver Glamping in the Green Tourism Certificate Programme. Part of our eco approach is that we do not supply the wooden lodges with electricity; instead, they are fitted with solar lighting. You may also see the occasional fairy light in there too, just to add some twinkle to your holiday!

Just a short distance from our lodges is a private field kitchen and shower room for exclusive use. Cook up a storm in the well equipped field kitchen comprising gas cooker, fridge-freezer and all necessary kitchen utensils for your culinary delights. A power shower provides a little luxury in the private shower room. These facilities mean you can tuck yourselves away, relax and enjoy your holiday to yourselves.

Traditionally hand painted and authentically lined with horse and yak hair, our yurt has been imported from Mongolia and offers a truly unique Devon countryside escape! A cosy wood burner means you can stay warm and toasty throughout your stay. 

Deceptively roomy, our yurt can comfortably sleep 6 people on a mixture of double beds and futons.  Underfoot, core matting and rugs will keep your tootsies warm whatever the weather outside.  Enjoy the privacy and comfort of your own private kitchen and shower room for a truly luxurious yurt experience. 



You’ll find pillows, sheets, throws and fleeces in your yurt – perfect for getting super cosy! We don’t provide duvets as most like to bring their own but please do enquire if you’d like to hire one from us for ease.

Our bowtop Gypsy caravan is perfect for a secluded romantic getaway, with a comfy double bed, seating, storage and a log burner to keep you cosy. Next door to the caravan is your own charming little shelter providing extra space in which to cook or simply relax. You can wake to the sound of the birds, look out onto the view, read a book under the tree in a hammock or sit around your camp fire. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the deer in the woods. There is also a private compost loo next to Rosie, although proper flushing loos are available nearby too.

Excella, our classic 80's American Airstream was shipped over from the states and now provides a unique glamping experience at Hideaway.  Beautifully restored and very spacious (sleeps up to 5) . The bedroom has a double bed, sink, shower, wardrobe and storage space. The living area has a fully equipped kitchen, fridge, cooker, log burner, sofa bed and seating area which also converts to another bed. There is an adjacent flushing toilet following the retro theme. Our Airstream has heating and air conditioning to keep you comfortable in all weathers and a large decking area out front, perfect for sunbathing, star gazing and cocktails!.

Jabba the Hut

glulu is our brand new, unique glamping igloo with a spacious, unusual, futuristic feel. We wanted something completely different at Hideaway, we were playing around with ideas then spotted a white dome in a field. We found out it was a calf igloo and in a moment of madness bought two! Then the fun began and we slowly transformed the structure into iglulu. Iglulu has a solid oak double bed, cooker, heating, solar powered lighting and bean bags to chill out on. It lives in our 4 acre camping field which has stunning views, a stone circle and plenty of privacy. You can relax around your own fire pit, eat alfresco and watch the shooting stars across the vast sky.

Iglulu is ideal for a couple or a family wanting something a bit different. It would have been a home for up to fifteen calves and is now a holiday experience for up to four humans! Everything you need is provided - you just need to pack your clothes and toiletries to enjoy an alternative glamping holiday!

Iglulu - Glamping Pod

Our cute ‘Little Owl Pod’ will keep you snug and dry whatever the weather. Perfect for those who

don’t want the hassle of putting up and packing down a tent, especially in the rain. Great for walkers, cyclists and motorcyclists - you can just rock up and chill out!

Inside our Owl Pod you will find a double bed and a top bunk suitable for two children (1.75m x 1.4m), there is also

enough floor space to put an extra bed – so not so little! There is also a folding camping table, four stools and solar lighting. You can bring your own bedding and cooking utensils or you can hire sleeping bags, camping pillows and a box of cutlery and crockery with all you need to eat alfresco.

Little Owl Pod

Each tent pitch is a generous 8 metre square with a fire pit within a 4 acre field. There is a large communal fire in a stone circle in the centre of the field, some well maintained compost loos, a children's play area and a great view. In the adjoining field you will find four friendly pigs, a large pond and a magical fairy glade. The shower block is a short walk with hot showers, flushing loos and communal chill out space. Time spent at Hideaway will bring you babbling brooks and magical woodlands, spacious fields and peaceful walks, swinging hammocks and picnic areas, crackling campfires and starry nights. All of this without even leaving the campsite!

This stylish Shepherds Hut is complete with a well equipped kitchen, a very comfy pull down king size bed and a luxurious ensuite shower room with rainfall shower.

The shower room has a large shower for two, wash hand basin, loo and heated towel rail, fluffy bathrobes and towels, hand wash and shower products. Outside there is a small deck, patio with generous size hot tub with lovely views and for looking up to the stars, also a patio with fire pit, log store, bistro table and chairs to enjoy romantic starry skies and amazing views across rolling hills. We provide logs and kindling for your fire pit. 

This hut is stunning however please remember it is situated on a working farm and so the approach drive and surrounding areas away from your accommodation will be muddy at times. Please bring wellies.

Set within the rolling hills of the West Devon countryside Larkworthy Farm is a working beef and sheep farm which has its own nature reserve and West Country Orchard with a flock of Jacob sheep who have unusual characteristics such as being multi-coloured.  
 
We have an on-farm footpath which leads to the local village of Ashwater, its church, shop and Post Office and quaint country pub which provides good food and refreshments and only a 15 minute drive to Cornwall.
