Mayfields Farm - Wild camping Norfolk, Mayfields Farm is a 40 acre smallholding near Reepham in Norfolk. It belongs to the Countryside Restoration Trust, a charity devoted to encouraging conservation alongside farming. If you are a fan of going back to basics and camping on the wild side, our rustic little site at Mayfields Farm might be for you. Situated in beautiful and unspoilt North Norfolk countryside, and off the beaten track, it offers three fields with lush pitches for tents and several spots for caravans or campervans. The small traditional grassland farm is owned by the Countryside Restoration Trust, and is under the Higher Level Stewardship Environmental Scheme, ensuring conservation of the natural environment. Sheep are grazed, to protect and manage bio-habitats and Sarah Jenkins, Farmer and Education Officer for The Trust, splits much of her time between teaching the heritage skill of training the working sheepdog, and welcoming visiting school children taking part in The Trust s Educational Program, or indeed anyone interested in learning more about the countryside. The pretty market town of Reepham is situated 2 miles from the farm, offering a variety of shops and pubs, and the popular Marriots Way foot/cycle path is within walking distance. The historic cities of Norwich and Kings Lynn are a half hour drive from the farm as is the stunningly beautiful North Norfolk Coast, Big Sky country, quaint fishing villages selling Cromer Crab, and wide expanses of golden beaches growing Samphire and Sea Lavender. Visit the Royal Estate of Sandringham, or the impressive Holkham Hall, or enjoy fish and chips overlooking the salt marshes on the quay at Wells-next-the-Sea. Treat yourselves to a boat trip to visit the seal colony at Blakeney point.
