The Dunkery caravan is the perfect idyllic retreat, sleeping up to four. Dunkery occupies a corner spot with adjacent parking, large outside decking area, as well as your own private hot tub!

The Dunkery provides modern open-plan accommodation with a master double room and a twin room.

With picturesque views across the rolling hills of Exmoor out to Bristol Channel, Dunkery is the perfect spot to relax and unwind as a couple or with friends and family.

Sleeping up to 6, there is room for a full family trip to the Retreat.

Offering spacious and open plan accommodation, Brendon provides a master bedroom and two twin rooms.

Brendon is also a pet friendly holiday caravan, for up to two dogs. There is a designated dog walking area on park, with a dog shower and various bins dotted around the Retreat.

Outside, there is a decking area with a table and chairs, as well as an adjacent parking space.

Lynton offers spectacular, stunning and uninterrupted views across the Bristol Channel, both from your hot tub and patio doors.

The Cheriton caravan is a fully self-contained, self-catered accommodation with electricity, heating and double glazing. It is on the modest end of our lettings, perfect for small families, being bright, spacious and quaint. With a lounge/diner and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with oven, four-ring hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. The corridor leads onto your master double bedroom and twin adjoining a sizable family shower room. Accommodating up to 4 people with stunning views over picturesque farmland and partial sea views across the Bristol Channel, making our Cheriton the perfect family getaway.

Our wooden, fully insulated and heated pods, provide a comfortable alternative to being under canvas. The Pod has a double bed and a sofa bed, tea / coffee making facilities and small fridge. All linen, duvets and pillows will be provided. Please note we do not provide towels.

This field doesn’t have numbered pitches, so you are free to choose your preferred spot.

We keep numbers to a minimum, ensuring plenty of room for all.

This is a non-electric camping field, this is the field for a true great outdoors experience.

You’ll find our facilities a very short walk away, they offer modern bathroom facilities, an indoor washing up area, a freezer for ice blocks and even a dishwasher free for guests use.

Directions - Unless you are walking or cycling, please don't attempt to access the site via Combe Lane, which is a no-through road from the village of Exford.

Instead, from Exford, turn off the B3224 onto Park St heading towards Porlock. Follow this road out of the village and near the top of the hill you will drive over a cattle grid (Hillhead Cross). Take the immediate right, signposted Luccombe. The campsite is the next right turning (if you get to Porlock Post you have gone too far).

The Heart of Exmoor

Come and stay in our lovely Drovers Hut, built on an ex-army ammunition trailer, it was bought by a local farmer who planned to turn it into a large trailer for carrying hay bales.  We found it in a hedge, covered in ivy and with a tree growing up through it.  We bought it, de-treed it and turned it into this lovely, cosy, romantic hut.

The Drovers Hut has sleeping for 5-6, including a king-size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed which pulls out from under the main king-size bed.

It has a gorgeous country kitchen with a Belfast sink, solid oak worktop, dresser top, two burner gas hob, a table and benches and a wonderful wood burning range stove with oven and hobs above.  Lighting is powered by solar panels and candles for added ambience.  The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery.

All the beds have comfy memory foam mattresses, and plump pillows and are made up of quality linen.

The drovers hut is fitted out beautifully, in a lovely peaceful corner of the field, and has a decking area which has two gates to secure it for dogs or children. The Drovers hut has outdoor seating, a picnic table, a fire pit/ BBQ and a lovely wood-fired hot tub. Adjacent to the hut sits a private bathroom with a flushing loo, hand basin and hot shower.

There is access, via a style to a wild garden with a stream running through it.  Perfect for, just sitting quietly with nature, exploring, bear hunts or searching for fairies! You can also walk the footpath from the farm, to explore Wistlandpound Reservoir.

Well-behaved dogs are permitted at £5 per night, please do not leave dogs in the hut unattended. Please also keep in mind the neighbouring farm animals that live on the premises when bringing your companion.

Eggs from the hens are also collected and left in the laundry room, with an honesty box for you to help yourselves, guests are also welcome to collect eggs straight from the next boxes. You will also have access to our toilet block which is heated all year round. Complete with drying wall, electrical sockets, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Drovers Hut

**Please note that we require a minimum of 2 nights when booking this accommodation.**

*The shepherd’s hut was traditionally used in the 19th and 20th centuries by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. They were also used while moving flocks around for “natural fertilizer” purposes.*

Our home-built shepherd hut is beautifully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing, memorable, comfortable stay.  There is a comfy king-size bed and a **child bunk** above with memory foam mattresses made up of fresh duvets, plump pillows and beautiful linen.

The kitchen area contains a ceramic sink with hot and cold running water, a gas hob, pretty china crockery, and kitchen and cooking utensils. The wood-burning stove will keep you toasty warm and the views from the stable door towards Wistlandpound Reservoir are amazing.

The Shepherd Hut is set away on its own and has a fenced garden and gated access to the stream. Outside is a wooden picnic bench, a fire pit and a lovely wood-fired hot tub.

Shepherd’s huts often had iron wheels and corrugated iron tops. We’ve built this one ourselves and reinvented it slightly it’s the perfect romantic getaway.  Come and live out your childhood gipsy dreams 

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at £5 per night. Please also keep in mind the neighbouring farm animals that live on the premises when bringing your companion. You can also access the footpath from the farm, to explore the lovely Wistlandpound Reservoir.

At the top of the farm, separate from the glamping and camping fields, closer to the road we have a Caravan and motorhome Club 5 CL site.

The Caravan Club site has a licence for 5 caravans or motorhomes all on specially levelled sites, all on hard standings. All have electric hookups, and water and grey waste connections at each pitch. We have a chemical disposal point and members can also use the laundry room and the lovely new toilet and shower block with all-year-round heating

*Back to basics camping just like it used to be!*

If you would like to camp in an open field, under the stars, with a small campfire outside your tent, where you can sit and watch the night sky, with a beer in your hand then this is the camping site for you!

Our camping fields offer plenty of space. We charge per person, not per pitch, so there is no extra charge for bell tents and you are welcome to bring gazebos or toilet tents.

For families, there is plenty of room for children to run and play in the camping field. Children are most welcome to visit the farm animals, we will show you around. Collect freshly laid eggs, from the hens for breakfast.
Being close to Exmoor there is very little light pollution; when you are staying remember to look up and see the stars!

Thinking of having a party or camping break with your friends? We will let the whole camping field for a reasonable price. Get together with all your friends around the campfire! 

**Amenities include:**

Eggs from the hens are also collected and left in the laundry room, with an honesty box for you to help yourselves, guests are also welcome to collect eggs straight from the next boxes.

The new Cabin (made from shipping containers, converted by ourselves here on the farm) set privately in a 3 acre field next to a babbling stream, at the bottom of the farm where there are lovely views of the surrounding North Devon Countryside.  Couples and families can enjoy the peace and tranquillity away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Walk over the wooden bridge to the Cabin, children can play in the stream, add some more stones to the dam or just run around the 3 acre field.

The Crinkly Cabin contains a kitchen with off grid fridge, a two burner gas hob, hot and cold water, we made the kitchen worktop ourselves from concrete with semi-precious stones set in.  There is an open plan living area with double doors giving access to the field the cabin is set in. In the living area is a wood burning stove with small oven above.  There are two bedrooms each capable of sleeping up to 4.  With a kingsize bed in each room, a single day bed with an occasional bed underneath, this bed can be moved from room to room if required. Just outside the door is the shower room with flushing loo, sink and large shower, hot water is provided by a gas boiler.   

In a secluded area for cabin guests only, is a firepit with bbq plate, wood fired sauna, hot tub and outside seating

A short walk away, at the top of the field, past the chickens from whom you are welcome to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast,  are more toilets,  showers, a bigger fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and electric sockets in case you can’t quite manage off grid for too long.

Taking you back to Nature, Glamping in North Devon. Our charming Shepherd Hut and Drovers Hut, come with a private hot tub on the edge of Exmoor National Park. For 2023 we have our NEW Crinkly Cabin, with private Hot Tub and Sauna, a unique home built, off grid glamping accommodation. 

We are a small working farm on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, near to the North Devon Coast. Our aim here is to enable you to wind down and reconnect with nature.

Our Huts and Cabin have their own firepits, BBQ’s and kitchens so there is no need to share any of these with other guests. 

We want our visitors to really feel at home on our site and we know just how important the toilet and shower facilities are during any camping holiday. That’s why our washrooms are checked often throughout the day and cleaned twice daily. Thanks to a biomass boiler the showers and washbasins are supplied with an abundance of free hot water and we have year round heating in the toilet block.

Westland Farm

The self-catering barn sleeps up to 10 people in 3 rooms, Coleridge, Dunkery and Snowdrop and has two shared shower rooms with WC. There is a well-equipped kitchen/dining area and drying room. We have a selection of DVDs, books, maps with suggested walks, smart TV and WIFI. There is a secure cycle storage area and garden with lawn, wildflower bank, seating and freestanding fire pit with BBQ grill.

Prices include heating, unlimited hot water, a quilt, pillow, bed linen and a bath towel per person. Beds will be made and a bath towel per person provided. We would ask that you strip the beds before your departure. We provide an initial supply of basic household essentials. There is a storage area for each guest and the bedrooms can be locked.

There is an option to have the fresh or frozen oven-ready meals delivered and we can recommend a private chef. These orders must be made in advance.

You will have access to the three bedrooms (sleeping up to 10 people), two shared shower rooms with WC, kitchen and dining room.

Coleridge is situated on the ground floor of the barn. The room sleeps two and has a super-king/twin bed, please make your request for a double/twin at the time of booking.

**Dunkery**

Dunkery sleeps 3, located on the first floor of the barn. The room consists of two single beds and one smaller single bed.

**Snowdrop**

Snowdrop sleeps 5, located on the first floor of the barn. The room consists of two sets of bunk beds and one single bed.

Smoking and vaping are allowed in some of the open-air areas. No smoking or vaping inside the barn.

Groups are accepted up to a maximum of  10 people.

No stag and hen groups.

Parking for all guests is available on site and is free of charge.

The owners do not and will not accept responsibility for damages, loss including accidents or injury resulting from use in the barn, garden and car parking area.

The owners have the right to ask anybody to leave where they consider behaviour is unacceptable

Breakages are to be paid for and if an unacceptable amount of cleaning is necessary with regards to the barn and bed linen a charge will be made.

The Barn

The barn previously formed the original milking parlour and dairy, plus two attached stables with a long feed store above. It is believed to have been built between 1840 and 1890, with stone walls that are two feet thick, pillars and attractive arch windows.
The popular Coleridge Way runs through the farm and nearby is the West Coastal Path which is ideal for walkers and cyclists. During your stay, we hope you will experience the wonderful night skies of Exmoor and maybe explore the beautiful rugged coastline of Somerset and the surfing beaches of North Devon.

Tarr Steps, a clapper bridge that crosses over the river Barle, and the Grade II* listed Landacre Bridge which carries traffic over the river are near Withypool, a quiet and unspoilt village surrounded by open moorland.
Also nearby is the village of Dulverton with great places to eat and shop and the Dulverton Heritage Centre offering a wealth of information and the popular Exmoor Pony Centre. Also, Porlock and Porlock Weir offer great places to eat, beautiful scenic walks, outdoor activities and the delicacy of local Porlock Oysters.
Though the neighbouring county of Dorset is better known for its fossils, Somerset also has some fantastic locations. The coastline of Watchet, Blue Anchor and Kilve is within a 40-minute drive and hold particular geological interest, with a variety of fossils being found along the coastline.

See the beautiful snowdrops and walk through the wonderful woodland alongside the River Avill. Enjoy the tea, cakes and more made available in the village after your walk.
Dark Skies: Ideal for stargazers, weather permitting, look to the night skies above Dunkery Beacon as Exmoor offers Europe’s first international dark sky reserve. Recognised in 2011 by the International Dark Skies Association for its low levels of light pollution, we have a festival of activities for two weeks during October/November every year.
On Exmoor, you will find rolling farmland, ancient woodlands, moors, hills and secluded river valleys. From Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in Exmoor National park, on a clear night you can see up to 3000 stars with the naked eye. Star-gazing here is an all year round activity, but the winter months provide greater darkness, giving you the best chance to see the Orion constellation which is visible in the Northern Hemisphere night sky between November and February.
This is a lovely place to find peace and tranquillity, and a wonderful place to explore!

Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway offers the most exciting to travel between the picturesque and historic towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. The Railway, built in 1890 is the UK's only fully water powered railway and one of three examples left in the world. Lynmouth offers beaches, riverside walks, pretty harbour, shops and cafes and nestles at the foot of the cliffs, whilst Lynton perched 500 feet (152m) above offers a Cliff Top Cafe with amazing views and traditional Devon Cream teas, shops and stunning coastline walks!
