Tucked away in a secluded spot on the eastern side of Treworgey farm (half a mile from our other hut!), the traditional Shepherd’s Hut offers luxurious glamping accommodation in Cornwall.  It has a full-size real double bed with crisp cotton linen and a pocket-sprung mattress, a twin gas-ring cooker, table and chairs, pretty squishy cushions and a log burner to keep you toasty.  Outside it has a private, wood-fired hot tub. Arguably the best thing is the magnificent view from both hut and hot tub of the Looe River valley folded into the rolling Cornish hills.

Fresh drinking water is available just outside the door and solar powered lights are fitted so you can stay up playing games, reading your book or just chattering away into the night.  Unlike many glamping places where bathrooms are shared, here you have your own private shower hut with hot shower, basin and composting loo just 20 yards away.  A log burner keeps the shower hut cosy in colder weather.

Fishing, boating and dining on mackerel… that could be part of the plan in Looe (10 minutes’ drive), a port town with seafood restaurants, food shops, friendly pubs, boutique shops and the cool Banjo Pier. Take a boat trip from the quayside to Polperro or Looe Island or sail out to go sharking or fishing for mackerel and wreckfish.

Back on site, there are plenty of spaces to unwind, including a firepit with log seats and a barbecue area with indoor seating (however you’d prefer to spend the evening). There are other facilities such as composting toilets and water on site to take care of any basic needs.

If you fancy a meal out slightly closer to the site, there’s a gastropub five minutes’ away or an easy 35 minutes’ walk away if you’re planning on having a few to drink.
