- Two pitches suitable for campervans (upon the Ridge). However, we rotate pitches to protect the ground so it's not possible to book a specific pitch in advance.

- There is the option of having an electric hookup on this pitch. Select this when you book.
- Each pitch comes with a fire pit and a picnic table, with logs available to purchase in advance or onsite.
If you are a campervan, you can park on your pitch. For campers, please use the site car park which is less than 10m away. On arrival and departure day, you can drive to your pitch to unload and load.
- The 'Shower Shack' with two hot showers, compost toilet and hot washing up station is nearby up on the Ridge.
- It's really dark here at night so do bring a torch - essential if you need to get to the toilets at night.
- Access to the Water Meadow is gated, so you are safely tucked away up here away from the water.
- Car-free camping - dedicated car park for all vehicles, but closer access for arrival and departure day
- Children need to be supervised at all times by the water
- Dogs welcome (up to two well-behaved dogs per pitch) - please keep them on a lead at all times.
- No vehicular access after 11 pm
- No radios, stereos or other sound systems at all times and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.00 pm.
- Clean pitch before departure.
- Fires are allowed in designated fire pits only. Only wood purchased on the farm can be burnt here.

Enclosed in the valley bottom, the Water Meadow is surrounded by mature trees. The one-acre lake sits close to the chalk stream, and there's another smaller wildlife lake too so you are never more than 10 metres away from water.

Pitches are mown into the meadow and are generous in size, with plenty of space between you and other pitches.This year we are opening up more spots around the lake and at Meadows end. You won't be able to choose your exact spot in advance as we rotate pitches to protect the ground but you can guarantee your pitch will be next to some water, be it the lake or the stream. Whilst you can't swim in the lake, you can fish, and if you need to get your feet wet then the Sturkel chalk stream is great for dipping your toes in and splashing about.

On arrival and departure day, you will be able to drive down to the start of the Water Meadow where you can borrow a wheelbarrow or trolley or if you are a bit further away we'll lend a motorised hand.

There is a lot of un-fenced water so care must be taken day and night and children supervised at all times.

When visiting the Water Meadow, as water is all around children do need to be closely supervised at all times. Water Meadow camping is for tents only.

The Water Meadow

Welcome to the Withy Hut. It's an original Farris' Shepherd's hut which was built in Shaftesbury over a hundred years ago.  The hut has been on the farm for over 30 years but was lovingly restored in late 2021 so everyone can get a chance to enjoy the pleasure of somewhere comfy, simple and original to stay.

Complete with a double bed, a small log burner for cooler nights, and willow storage baskets for your belongings, the Withy Hut is the ultimate no-fuss charm for a cosy get-away.

The hut is up on the Ridge. Outside you'll find the field kitchen with its open window framing the view over the Water Meadow. Equipped with a gas burning stove, fridge with freezer drawer, and all the pans & crockery you'll need to cook up a storm, you can choose to take your dinners in the kitchen on the long table, or eat outdoors by the fire pit.

The pitch has its own private outdoor shower shack with compost toilet, sink and hot gas shower a few short steps from the hut. 

The Withy Hut sleeps two, but there is also room to put up a reasonable size tent or campervan on the pitch should you want to have up to three extra guests. Just add a note to your booking if you want to add extra guests and we will sort it out for you.

We do permit dogs but note the hut can only accommodate one large dog or two medium / small dogs. Please provide your dog bed, and please do not allow the dogs on the (human!) bed. The internal space is small within the hut so if you do bring your dogs you'll need to squeeze them in the hut with you or bring a pup tent. They will need to be kept on a lead as we are a working farm.  

The Withy Hut and private outdoor bathroom are off-grid, with battery-powered lighting. The field kitchen has an electric supply for the fridge and a place to charge your phone. 

We supply:

High-quality bed linen and duvet for the Shepherds Hut and towels for two people (if you add extra campers, they will need to provide their own)

Toilet paper, Faith in Nature shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, washing up liquid and hand soap.

Basic cooking essentials such as salt, pepper, sunflower oil, tea towels, bins and bin bag, as well as a compost caddy for all of your food waste. Bio-degradable dog poo bags.

Kitchen equipment - utensils, plates, bowls and mugs, cups, cutlery, kettle, pots and pans, stove-top espresso maker, under-counter fridge with small freezer drawer, 2 ring gas stove

Torches and lanterns to brighten up the dark.

Generous first load of logs for the woodburner and fire pit

You can add an additional 3 people to your booking, to pitch up next to the Shepherds hut in their own tent or campervan.

The Withy Hut

Woodfrys Farm is a wild-ish campsite in the most scenic of settings. If you want to get back to nature in fantastic surroundings, then this campsite is for you.

Nestled in the North Dorset countryside in easy striking distance of lovely places to visit, you can decide whether to go out or relax onsite watching the birdlife on the lake, paddling in the stream, or walking the meadow. 

Situated in the Cranbourne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is an International Dark Sky Reserve, with dark nights and starry skies. Torches are a must!

You must be enrolled as a member of the Greener Camping Club (£12) in order to book your stay.

Woodfrys Farm

small and secluded Holyrood Farm Campsite is in Dorset countryside overlooking the Blackmore Vale, within easy walking distance of the pubs and shops of Shaftesbury. It's close to several good footpaths for walking too – or you could take things up a notch with a stagger up Shaftesbury's Gold Hill, the famously steep cobbled street used several times as a set for the big and small screen…?

Those spectacular vale views are from Holyrood's working farm, with sheep, rare-breed pigs and Dexter cattle (standard), alpacas (less so) and a badgers' watch (nocturnal trips ahoy). The vibe is wild camping, but there's a shower available all season.

Campfires – of course – are allowed, to sizzle up the breakfast bacon and other farm food sold by Jason and his team (order these bits when you arrive): other food (and beery?) bits can be sorted 10 minutes' walk away at the supermarkets and independent shops of Shaftesbury.

Non-Electric Grass Pitch

 Ideally located on the edges of Shaftesbury, this family-friendly campsite is perfect for those looking to sit back and relax with stretching countryside views.

You’ll be on a secluded working farm, so be sure to say hello to the resident sheep, alpacas, cows and pigs.

Enjoy a back-to-basics stay where you can light a fire and toast marshmallows in the evening.

Bring your bikes for the best way to view our magical surroundings. Our campsite offers 3 fields of generously sized 10 metre-squared camping pitches - ample space for one car and a good sized family tent, however additional car parking is available if required. Basic amenities are provided, i.e. water points, toilets and showers, but in addition you may wish to hire one of our cosy firepits with a supply of wood. 

Join Farmer Dave on a tractor and trailer ride, and help feed the calves to truely experience the working farm on which the campsite is situated.

At weekends over the Summer Holidays (plus Bank Holidays), we have an on-site catering cabin and a Bar!  Breakfast rolls available in the mornings, and evening food, including our freshly made wood-fired pizzas on a Saturday evening!  Perfectly washed down with a pint of local ale or cider, or even Pimms!

Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind, and escape to the countryside where any traffic jams are down to the local Farmer in his tractor, and the only tweeting done is by the birds in the trees. Dogs and their well-behaved owners are very welcome, but we do ask for them to be kept on a lead at all times (the dogs!) and for all mess to be cleared up (both dogs and owners!). 

Please be respectful of fellow campers, our livestock, and the beautiful Village in which we're located. A short drive into the New Forest and you'll be spoilt for choice for stunning dog walks - your pooch will be in heaven!

Hen / Stag parties are not allowed, and no adult-only groups in the Woodland Group Hire areas. Adult-only groups in Standard Camping are limited to 8 adults in total, please.  This is a family campsite, and multi-family bookings are accepted.

Tasks on the farm:
Simply a 15 moment walk away, an extended stretch of this River Avon is reserved for visitors fly that is booking (15 April to 30 Sept) or coarse fishing (15 June to 15 March), which are often arranged in the farm. The river is also a location that is wonderful swim or paddle. Relax at tents or log cabins spread out on the forest flooring, with hammocks between the trees and a lot of light coming through the canopy. For the energetic, there\u2019s axe and archery throwing available across the wood. There\u2019s a paddock that is brand new the way to the rooms, and new pig pen and new goat pen play area, and rabbits too. Near the campsite is a woodland that is pretty, ideal for paddling or playing a leisurely game of Pooh sticks on your own glamping Hampshire farm holiday. Or check out fishing, and speak about one that got away at many a country pub that is cosy. Frogham\u2019s Foresters even has donkeys in the engine car park! For an back at the farm, you can find 4 campfires at Midgham to collect family and friends around night. The honesty shop is well stocked with everything you\u2019ll require from break fast to BBQ time, and has now an espresso device too.

Please note our tents lack electricity, although guests can access    electricity through areas which can be communal the sincerity shop. Lights within the tents are by candles or oil lamps.

Any food that you would like to book (breakfast hampers, bbq box, stew pot, etc)     at    an extra expense    could be booked online or on-site.

Explore the region:
Dogs are welcome all round but must certanly be kept on a lead at all times 12 months. This glamping Hampshire getaway is just a 10-minute drive from both the newest Forest Water Park and Somerley House, which offers varied fairs, festivals and tasks off the farm. The Go Ape treetop path at Moors Valley nation Park and also the children\u2019s play trail there was 9 kilometers far from Midgham Farm, and Paulton\u2019s Park theme park is simply 16 kilometers away. To obtain a glimpse for the past, Stonehenge is merely 22 miles away, and Salisbury, 13 miles.

Take the lavish Georgian Farmhouse sleeping up to 12 and the two cosy cottages each sleeping 2 in any combination. All three properties are dog friendly and family friendly. There's so much to keep everyone happy on the Farm with an indoor swimming pool and sauna, huge walled gardens and a play Orchard to explore. Head down to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast for iconic Dorset beaches or stay local and explore glorious countryside by foot or by bike from the farm gate.

Crazy Monsters is North Dorset's indoor that is largest soft play area in order to let your small monsters get wild! They are a RoSPA inspected location and also have a qualified aider that is very first site so you can be safe in the knowledge that your particular kiddies are completely catered for. They've an in household restaurant with an extensive choice that is healthier along with all your child's favourites served by their fully qualified chefs.Whilst your son or daughter is enjoying on their own they have lots of comfy sitting on their amazing very first flooring watching area enabling you to look directly in the climbing structure to look at your little monsters! They have many different gear within their 3 tier adventure play area including 4 lane giant Astra, giant spiral and mega tube slides; rainbow lollipop spinners, aerial glide and huge ball pit; great roller challenge, lots of bish bash plus lots more! Hours invested splashing around in water are a household pastime that is favourite. Plunge on in, soak those feet and invite your people being little get lost in the wonderful world of water at Blandford Leisure Centre. Are your family at one along with their wild part? Then duck and plunge the right path around the water cannons which are shooting. Relax and immerse into the bubbling bubble bath, and just keep swimming within the 25m, four-lane pool. They are just some of water that is exciting that Blandford Leisure Centre has on offer during their water world sessions. Family fun and Wet 'n' Wild sessions introduce the entire world that is exciting of float! The way in which is ideal help a young child enhance their swimming ability, whilst still enjoying their water adventure. Swirl and twirl your means down the waterslides, recalling to simply take a huge breathing that is deep the end. The more swimmer that is advanced the family can decide to try their hand at some diving, and make a large splash from new heights. And after all this water madness we are specific you will have to refresh and refuel. The cafe that is onsite a range of hot and cold food perfect for almost any after swim reboot.
