John Scudamore, who died in 1571 lies beside his wife on a tomb chest, decked out in full armour. James Scudamore, who died in 1668, wears Roman costume in a great wedding cake of a wall monument – possibly by Grinling Gibbons. Beautiful stained glass also delights the eye. Most of it is nineteenth and twentieth century, though the chancel north window is made up of fragments of medieval glass.

Holme Lacy, Herefordshire – St Cuthbert’s Church

This beautifully restored, romantic, vintage silver Airstream is set within her own private enclosed meadow. Marilyn Meadows has her own large sundeck with sunken bath, recliners, fire pit/BBQ & far reaching rural views . You can just relax in the rural retreat or explore the local area where you will find, wild swimming, hiking in the Black Mountains, the Forest of Dean or the scenic Wye Valley. There are castles, gin tours & historic market towns to explore with eateries & independent shops.

There is a private parking area which leads you through an arch in the apple trees, where you will discover the beautifully restored, shiny 1956 Airstream trailer. Inside you will find a very comfortable sleeping area, cosy seating area, heating, fully equipped galley kitchen, fridge , microwave, and a mini dressing room with a hairdryer.

There’s lots of storage and fold out inside dining area with seating. Excellent WIFI signal and blue tooth speakers.

Out front there is a large private deck with a covered area, sun loungers, a pop up outside cinema, BBQ/ firepit and sunken bath with hot and cold running water and bubble bath. A gravel path leads to the insulated heated shower block fully plumbed with a waterfall shower. We hope we have thought of everything you would need for a relaxing rural retreat.

‘Dawn of Day’ occupies a glade in our woodland. You will share four acres only with a few chickens and plenty of wildlife. This larger hut is clad in green corrugated iron, blending in with the native trees.

Dawn of Day is named after a hamlet on the nearby Graig hill.

**Each hut offers:**

- Full-sized double bed (which in the Skirrid folds up into a daytime sofa.)

- Table and chairs.

- Woodburning stove with firewood.

‘Skirrid’ is situated in our small apple orchard with views across the Monnow Valley towards Skirrid Fawr hill. You have this sunny, half-acre field all to yourselves. This pretty hut is clad in blue painted wood. Catch the morning sun in the hut, and enjoy outdoor living under the shade of an awning.

Skrrid

Living in a shepherd’s hut is an adventure that we think you'd love. You will be leaving your busy life behind. You will be living simply, cooking on a woodburning stove or outside over a firebowl. Your evenings will be lit by solar power. You will be ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’. But don’t worry, unlike shepherd Gabriel Oak in Thomas Hardy’s novel, your shepherd’s hut will be warm and cosy and has a comfy bed.

While our shepherds’ huts retain the charm of a traditional design, they are luxurious with double-glazed windows and insulated with sheep’s wool. They were built by us, here at Hollow Ash, using local materials and craftspeople.



Hollow Ash Holidays

A 6 Metre 'Stargarzer' tent with an added 'Airbud' pup so depending on your family grouping, these each sleep anything from two to six people. Furnishings and decor throughout are stylishly top-notch so it's not just proper beds and rugs, but also soft robes, cut flowers, sofas, armchairs and coordinated colours. Outside, you get your own fully equipped cabana-style kitchen. You won't have to bring a thing and attached to this are pristine hot-water shower facilities, loo, and washing-up area. The knives are sharp, the pots and pans un-battered, while dining is at solid tables and chairs on matching crockery with proper glassware.

The 'Mahal' is the showstopper, a simply enormous specimen, the sort of thing a desert potentate might entertain in which sleeps at least eight in four separate rooms, with a whopping 65 square metres of floor space.

At this point, things start to get, well, even more boutique and luxury, for want of better words. Finnish wood-fired hot tub? That's a yes. Hammocks in wooded glades, comfy sun-loungers, and an impressive fire bowl that's almost three-foot across? Yes again. A communal, outdoor honesty bar with its own drink-stocked fridge, firepit, and free-to-use pizza oven is a place to chill, while a potter around the well-tended grounds turns up rose-scented grassy paths, vegetable and herb gardens, orchards, and scratching chickens. It's all extremely well thought out and playful, too, as the invitation to curl up for the night on an outdoor iron bed attests. Ask for a telescope and one will be provided.

The words 'boutique' and 'luxury' get bandied about a lot in glamping circles, but for the site at Stargazer Glamping in Herefordshire border country, they are probably understatements. Let's start with the location; a Georgian country pile in the outstandingly beautiful Wye Valley, which straddles the England-Wales border. It's a land of misty mornings, shaded forests, valley meadows, and mountain views, not to mention glorious sunsets and star-filled skies — if glamping magic is going to happen anywhere, it's here.

As a 'Certificated Location' with the Motor Caravanners Club, members and non-members are all welcome. The site can accept up to 5 Motor Caravans or Caravans at any one time with all pitches having electric hook-ups. Being a working farm and for safety, only adult guests are permitted.

All guests must be self-sufficient, the site has no on-site toilet or shower facilities, however fresh water, a refuse recycling centre and emptying points are available. Only green organic toilet solutions can be used on-site and 'Leisure Depot Organic Green Toilet Chemical', is always available at the farm for guests. 

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. bookings will be held for 24 hours. After this period we reserve the right to relet the pitch.

No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Tents are not accepted at this park.

Grass Touring Pitch

2025 see’s the 7th season where guests are welcomed to enjoy the Great British Countryside in Herefordshire at Ayton Motorhome & Caravan Site at Yew Tree Farm. As a 'Certificated Location' with the Motor Caravanners Club, members and non-members are all welcome. The site can accept up to 5 Motor Caravans or Caravans at any one time with all pitches having electric hook-ups. As a small working farm, for safety, only adult guests are permitted. "Farmhouse Perry", (proper pear cider), made in limited supply from the Perry Pear trees on the farm is available which continues this centuries old tradition. A further 20 trees have recently been planted and grafted from the original ancient tree stock in and around the grass field site.
When access to the main site is restricted guests can utilise the stopover Aires all weather gravel facility located within the main yard at the farm, electric hook-ups, fresh water and an Elsan point are also available at this location but due to the vehicular access only Motorhomes & Camper Vans can be accepted.

We are situated in the Heart of the Wye Valley in one of Britains most stunning areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is luxury glamping for all seasons in magical accommodation. The traditional wagons are nestled into a small valley, in about an acre of gardens, adjacent to Wriggles brook. With farm land on one side and wild hillside on the other.

The wildlife is abundant and you may be lucky enough to see such creatures as Otter, Fox, Kingfisher, Peregrine, Sparrowhawk, Buzzards and many more. There are bird tables adjacent to each Wagon providing treats for Blue-Tits, Nut Hatches and other feathered customers.

The peacefulness of the valley provides a safe haven for human creatures too.

BHS authorized The Equestrian Centre at Holme Lacy welcomes newbies to competition riders over a decade old. You are able to choose your choice from personal, semi-private and group lessons taught by their friendly and BHS qualified staff. You're going to be set up with a horse that matches your size and ability to ensure that the two of you have actually a ride that is pleased! They will have a much stock that is liked the entire gamut from peaceful cobs to thoroughbred competition horses! There's exceptional hacking too, set inside the College's magnificent 600 estate that is acre through woodlands and across available fields and grass paths with a few optional jumps for the brave! There was a course that is cross-country an outdoor arena with 'all weather' area. There is also an school that is interior watching gallery should the weather be against you. And there's BHS exam training and a Winter Dressage League available too it and wish to pursue their brand new pastime further if they take to!

You may need the nose of a bloodhound to sniff the reality out though, and teamwork is vital. The route should take around 2 hours to perform this means plenty of time getting a little bit of sightseeing under your gear, that is once you have worked out whodunnit of course! Tiptoe through the churchyard, follow the river and consume some pretty countryside that is impressive. Plus it, stop down for a well-earned picnic in the event that you fancy.
