Come and stay in our lovely Drovers Hut, built on an ex-army ammunition trailer, it was bought by a local farmer who planned to turn it into a large trailer for carrying hay bales.  We found it in a hedge, covered in ivy and with a tree growing up through it.  We bought it, de-treed it and turned it into this lovely, cosy, romantic hut.

The Drovers Hut has sleeping for 5-6, including a king-size bed, single bunks and a trestle bed which pulls out from under the main king-size bed.

It has a gorgeous country kitchen with a Belfast sink, solid oak worktop, dresser top, two burner gas hob, a table and benches and a wonderful wood burning range stove with oven and hobs above.  Lighting is powered by solar panels and candles for added ambience.  The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery.

All the beds have comfy memory foam mattresses, and plump pillows and are made up of quality linen.

The drovers hut is fitted out beautifully, in a lovely peaceful corner of the field, and has a decking area which has two gates to secure it for dogs or children. The Drovers hut has outdoor seating, a picnic table, a fire pit/ BBQ and a lovely wood-fired hot tub. Adjacent to the hut sits a private bathroom with a flushing loo, hand basin and hot shower.

There is access, via a style to a wild garden with a stream running through it.  Perfect for, just sitting quietly with nature, exploring, bear hunts or searching for fairies! You can also walk the footpath from the farm, to explore Wistlandpound Reservoir.

Well-behaved dogs are permitted at £5 per night, please do not leave dogs in the hut unattended. Please also keep in mind the neighbouring farm animals that live on the premises when bringing your companion.

Eggs from the hens are also collected and left in the laundry room, with an honesty box for you to help yourselves, guests are also welcome to collect eggs straight from the next boxes. You will also have access to our toilet block which is heated all year round. Complete with drying wall, electrical sockets, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

*The shepherd’s hut was traditionally used in the 19th and 20th centuries by shepherds during sheep raising and lambing. They were also used while moving flocks around for “natural fertilizer” purposes.*

Our home-built shepherd hut is beautifully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing, memorable, comfortable stay.  There is a comfy king-size bed and a **child bunk** above with memory foam mattresses made up of fresh duvets, plump pillows and beautiful linen.

The kitchen area contains a ceramic sink with hot and cold running water, a gas hob, pretty china crockery, and kitchen and cooking utensils. The wood-burning stove will keep you toasty warm and the views from the stable door towards Wistlandpound Reservoir are amazing.

The Shepherd Hut is set away on its own and has a fenced garden and gated access to the stream. Outside is a wooden picnic bench, a fire pit and a lovely wood-fired hot tub.

Shepherd’s huts often had iron wheels and corrugated iron tops. We’ve built this one ourselves and reinvented it slightly it’s the perfect romantic getaway.  Come and live out your childhood gipsy dreams

At the top of the farm, separate from the glamping and camping fields, closer to the road we have a Caravan and motorhome Club 5 CL site.

The Caravan Club site has a licence for 5 caravans or motorhomes all on specially levelled sites, all on hard standings. All have electric hookups, and water and grey waste connections at each pitch. We have a chemical disposal point and members can also use the laundry room and the lovely new toilet and shower block with all-year-round heating

*Back to basics camping just like it used to be!*

If you would like to camp in an open field, under the stars, with a small campfire outside your tent, where you can sit and watch the night sky, with a beer in your hand then this is the camping site for you!

Our camping fields offer plenty of space. We charge per person, not per pitch, so there is no extra charge for bell tents and you are welcome to bring gazebos or toilet tents.

For families, there is plenty of room for children to run and play in the camping field. Children are most welcome to visit the farm animals, we will show you around. Collect freshly laid eggs, from the hens for breakfast.
Being close to Exmoor there is very little light pollution; when you are staying remember to look up and see the stars!

Thinking of having a party or camping break with your friends? We will let the whole camping field for a reasonable price. Get together with all your friends around the campfire!

Grass Pitch

Stay in comfort in our NEW off grid accomodation, The Crinkly Cabin!

Can sleep up to 8, but also perfect for couples and young families.

The new Cabin (made from shipping containers, converted by ourselves here on the farm) set privately in a 3 acre field next to a babbling stream, at the bottom of the farm where there are lovely views of the surrounding North Devon Countryside.  Couples and families can enjoy the peace and tranquillity away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.

Walk over the wooden bridge to the Cabin, children can play in the stream, add some more stones to the dam or just run around the 3 acre field.

The Crinkly Cabin contains a kitchen with off grid fridge, a two burner gas hob, hot and cold water, we made the kitchen worktop ourselves from concrete with semi-precious stones set in.  There is an open plan living area with double doors giving access to the field the cabin is set in. In the living area is a wood burning stove with small oven above.  There are two bedrooms each capable of sleeping up to 4.  With a kingsize bed in each room, a single day bed with an occasional bed underneath, this bed can be moved from room to room if required. Just outside the door is the shower room with flushing loo, sink and large shower, hot water is provided by a gas boiler.   

In a secluded area for cabin guests only, is a firepit with bbq plate, wood fired sauna, hot tub and outside seating

A short walk away, at the top of the field, past the chickens from whom you are welcome to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast,  are more toilets,  showers, a bigger fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and electric sockets in case you can’t quite manage off grid for too long.

Taking you back to Nature, Glamping in North Devon. Our charming Shepherd Hut and Drovers Hut, come with a private hot tub on the edge of Exmoor National Park. For 2023 we have our NEW Crinkly Cabin, with private Hot Tub and Sauna, a unique home built, off grid glamping accommodation. 

We are a small working farm on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, near to the North Devon Coast. Our aim here is to enable you to wind down and reconnect with nature.

Our Huts and Cabin have their own firepits, BBQ’s and kitchens so there is no need to share any of these with other guests. 

We want our visitors to really feel at home on our site and we know just how important the toilet and shower facilities are during any camping holiday. That’s why our washrooms are checked often throughout the day and cleaned twice daily. Thanks to a biomass boiler the showers and washbasins are supplied with an abundance of free hot water and we have year round heating in the toilet block.

**Please note that we welcome awnings and cars on site for free.**

Our beautiful shepherd hut is situated right on the edge of Exmoor with fabulous views up to the moor and also down to the sea. Our hut is lovingly handcrafted, fully insulated with cast wheels and is the perfect place to unwind and relax.

You are welcome to bring a tent for the duration of your booking in the shepherds hut. We do not allow any campers who aren’t connected with the Shepherd Hut so the site remains exclusive. Camping is in addition to the shepherd hut tariff at the rate of £10 per child per night and £15 per adult per night.

Shepherds Hut

**Benton View Shepherds Hut** is located just outside **Exmoor National Park** near the village of Benton, right in the middle of the breathtakingly gorgeous north **Devon** countryside.  The very welcoming owners have created an oasis here on their working farm; a small and exclusive one-party **glamping** site, set in beautiful rolling green meadows, with a single **handcrafted shepherds hu**t for two, with fantastic views up to the moor and down to the sea.  Another tent is welcome if there are more than two in your party, but the site is exclusively yours for the duration of your stay.

The location is very peaceful and wonderfully rural; the Shepherd’s hut sits proudly in the orchard on its cast wheels, with wooden steps leading up to the stable door.  It is surrounded by a low picket fence, so you won’t have any friendly goats joining you for dinner, and there is a well kept private garden with a barbeque area and a picnic bench for eating outdoors.  Inside the hut there is everything you need; a double bed for two, linen, a kitchenette with gas hob and sink, table and chairs and a log burner (with wood) to keep you cosy on chillier nights.  The shower and toilet are in a separate block and there is also access to a larger kitchen with fridge/freezer and microwave should you need it.  Nothing has been forgotten.  The wood panelled shepherd's hut is beautifully furnished - tasteful but unfussy - with pretty curtains and cushions making it homely and warm, and a welcome pack with a few basics will be there on arrival.  Because of the sheep, lambs and goats on the farm, you will have to leave your doggy pal at home for this one….but there will be no shortage of other friendly animals to cuddle if you want to!

It is blissfully tranquil at Benton View.  Guests are allowed to wander around the 14 acres of farmland, help with the animals or just sit and relax in the peaceful surroundings.  For exploring North Devon you could not be in a better place.  It is just a few miles from Exmoor National Park, a stunning landscape of wild moors, wooded valleys and secluded walking trails - perfect for hikers - and some wonderful cycling routes too.  The **beaches** of North Devon are also very close by, including the sandy stretches at **Ilfracombe**, **Woolacombe** and Putsborough beach at **Croyde** - renowned as one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the south west.  Here you can swim and surf or have a go at something wild, like coasteering!  For a more relaxing day trip, hop aboard the **Lynton and Barnstaple steam train**; the only steam railway in the UK where you can travel in the actual Victorian carriages that were designed in the 1890’s.  Or take the boat from Illfracombe to the National Trust’s **Lundy Island,** home to a fascinating array of wildlife - including **puffins** - and some seriously dramatic scenery.

Back at Benton View, relax in your private garden at the Shepherds Hut, fire up the barbeque and watch the sun setting over spectacular scenery.  Exmoor was Europe’s first ever International Dark Sky Reserve, which makes it one of the best places in the UK for stargazing; so just sit back, and enjoy the view…..

Consisting of a master double bedroom and two twin rooms, Malsmead is also pet friendly, catering for up to 2 dogs. There is also an outside decking area, perfect for relaxing or dining and adjacent parking.

The Dunkery caravan is the perfect idyllic retreat, sleeping up to four. Dunkery occupies a corner spot with adjacent parking, large outside decking area, as well as your own private hot tub!

The Dunkery provides modern open-plan accommodation with a master double room and a twin room.

With picturesque views across the rolling hills of Exmoor out to Bristol Channel, Dunkery is the perfect spot to relax and unwind as a couple or with friends and family.

Brendon is also a pet friendly holiday caravan, for up to two dogs. There is a designated dog walking area on park, with a dog shower and various bins dotted around the Retreat.

Outside, there is a decking area with a table and chairs, as well as an adjacent parking space.

East Lyn brings a real sense of luxury to holiday caravans, it is a stunning 3 bedroom holiday home.

Our East Lyn has a large living space, lovely open plan kitchen diner, a large double bedroom with an ensuite WC and walk in wardrobe and two twin bedrooms. It is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together. There is a modern, fully equipped kitchen, full size fridge freezer and a microwave.

Situated in a quiet spot with views of the farmland behind and the surrounding undulating hills, this unit is perfect for rest and relaxation.

Wilsham is sat in a quiet spot, benefitting from adjacent parking and plenty of room outside for al fresco dining.

Inside, the living accommodation is spacious, open plan, has a large TV and a fully equipped kitchen. Perfect for all the family to hang out together.  There is a master double bedroom and a twin room.

The Blackmoor is a modern holiday home with breath taking surroundings.

Blackmoor has a decking area and plenty of outside space, both for parking your car and enjoying being outside in this stunning spot.

Inside, there is a large open plan living area with a modern fully equipped kitchen. The Blackmoor has a double bedroom and one twin bedroom.

The Cheriton caravan is a fully self-contained, self-catered accommodation with electricity, heating and double glazing. It is on the modest end of our lettings, perfect for small families, being bright, spacious and quaint. With a lounge/diner and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with oven, four-ring hob, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. The corridor leads onto your master double bedroom and twin adjoining a sizable family shower room. Accommodating up to 4 people with stunning views over picturesque farmland and partial sea views across the Bristol Channel, making our Cheriton the perfect family getaway.

These are generously-sized all-grass pitches with an electric hook-up point close-by plus a water tap within easy walking distance.


The large all-grass pitches are suitable for touring caravans, tents, and campervans, subject to availability. Motorhomes can be pitched on all-grass pitches subject to and dependent upon the weight of the unit and the weather conditions.

These pitches are fully serviced all-grass pitches with a bollard which has a low level light, electric hook up, a water tap & waste drain plus a picnic bench just for you. Everything is pitched on grass with a specified area for the car adjacent to the area for all accommodation.


These premier pitches are suitable for touring caravans, tents, and campervans, subject to availability. Motorhomes can be pitched on all grass pitches subject to and dependent upon weight of the unit and the weather conditions.

PREMIER ALL-GRASS PITCHES

These pitches are fully serviced block-paved pitches with a bollard which has a low level light, electric hook up, a water tap & waste drain plus a picnic bench just for you. The block-paved area will accommodate the car and the caravan or motorhome, then some have a fine gravel area at the side for the awning with plenty of grass adjacent, and others have all grass.


These premier pitches are suitable for touring caravans, tents, campervans and motorhomes, subject to availability.

PREMIER HARD-STANDING PITCHES

Our Classic Pitches are all-grass serviced pitches with an electric hook-up point near-by and a water tap within easy walking distance.


These are suitable for small tents under 4.5m and for campervans with small awnings under 2.5m.

CLASSIC ALL-GRASS PITCHES

These are generously-sized pitches with a hard-core type of surface for the car and the caravan or motorhome and a large grassed area at the side. They have an electric hook-up point close-by and there will be a water tap within easy walking distance.


The large hard-standing pitches are suitable for touring caravans, tents, campervans and motorhomes, subject to unit size and pitch availability.

LARGE HARD-STANDING PITCHES

Newberry Valley Touring and Camping Park is the perfect place to retreat and relax, away from hectic everyday life. An AA five pennant, family-run site in an rural position on the edge of Combe Martin village, it is less than five minutes' walk from the beaches, pubs, and village shops.

Devon Banks is a dog friendly Caravan and camping park in North Devon exclusively for adults (18+) who want a relaxing place to recharge. It is a small family run hideaway with just 5 pitches hired out at anyone time. During summer months you can choose from Hard standing pitch with grass or all grass pitch all with option of electric hook up.

At Exmoor Zoo there is always change taking place, so  a trip last year, will today see new exhibits. The zoo has always specialised in smaller animals within the past, providing living that is natural for all creatures not seen in the city zoos.Today, brand new displays exist for bigger animals such as  Puma, reindeer, maned wolves, meerkats, Cheetah to mention but a few not to mention the Exmoor beast! Sand Cats, Binturong, performing dogs, wolves, Carpathian lynx, are all on display. The careful planting of shrubs and trees  keep you wondering what is next, supplying a really relaxing and normal environment! Exmoor zoo is different to other  zoos It is not a wildlife park or a populous town zoo, but a far more individual, friendly and contact orientated zoo that has grown into a North Devon Valley. This is mirrored by the talks and encounter sessions (every half hour within the summer time); a visit will undoubtedly explain to you there is a lot more right here, than first satisfies the eye!

Exmoor Zoo

Wistlandpound Reservoir is carefully resulted in a countryside website with wheelchair and pushchair accessible trails, task gear and sensory interpretation that is stimulating. These enable people of all abilities to see and enjoy Wistlandpound. Wistlandpound Discovery Centre inside it's detailed building is tastefully restored into a visitor that is fully accessible and education room where more can be learnt about Wistlandpound's history and wildlife. Calvert Trust Exmoor nearby provides challenging tasks which can be outside people with disabilities to take pleasure from, together with their friends and family. All tasks take site, they've their riding stables and interior and outside walls which can be climbing. Additionally they provide sailing, canoeing, kayaking, horse cycling, carriage driving, archery and a zip cable. Professional equipment and highly qualified instructors make tasks accessible for several ages and all abilities.
