Museum associated with the Iron AgeThe museum tells the tale of Danebury hill fort which lies to your west that is south of and can be visited. The mountain fort was excavated by Professor Barry Cunliffe between 1969 and 1988 and is one of the best studied sites associated with the British Iron Age.The museum makes use of items which are real Danebury alongside life size models, reconstructions and dioramas to bring the Iron Age your. Stand alongside the fortified ramparts and imagine eating dinner around the cooking cauldron inside the roundhouse room.At the museum there is something special coffee and store shop. Danebury Iron Age mountain fort itself can north be found west of Stockbridge and near to Nether Wallop and is available day-to-day with free entry.
