The Bo'ness Hippodrome has a wide ranging programme of movies, and since it's reopening in 2009, it offers a cinema experience that is a world far away from the experience of the multiplex. It's the oldest built cinema in Scotland, an A listed historic building that opened in 1912. At the Hippodrome, there is always a warm greeting for all, with Saturday morning 'reel' screenings with 'Jeely Jar' entry, a 'Hippodrome for Schools' programme, and unique activities such as the annual Hippodrome Silent Film Festival.. There is a cafe selling fresh popcorn, drinks and confectionery, a licensed bar, space for buggy parking, booster seats, and child changing facilities and two large free car parks in the town centre. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, with 176 beautifully restored, comfortable seats offering great views of the screen, and a fantastic variety of different movies to view.
