Add to this stunning sunsets over Dartmoor and clear, starry skies at night. We have peace and tranquility yet without being too far away from, amongst other places, the quirky, bustling, bohemian town of Totnes and the serenity of Dartmouth. Our local pub, serving great food, is only a short walk from the campsite.

Farleigh Camping

Our facilities are basic and designed to be in keeping with the natural environment they are set in and to ensure they have minimal impact on the land. All totally off-grid, no electric hook-ups, no flushing toilets, just mother nature at her best.

Compost loo’s, heated showers and washing facilities are all offered up in rustic wooden huts, cleaned thoroughly, multiple times every day.  Please consider whether you can cope with compost loo’s before you book! Have a look at our photos below to see if it’s for you. 

- 15 acres of grassy fields for free-range camping.

- Designated quiet camping field.

- 7 compost loos. 3 urinals.

- 5 Hot showers.

- Washing up facility.

- Washing and changing area.

- Multiple water stations located around the site. All water is drinking water.

- Recycling and waste area.

- A small farm shop supplying locally sourced produce such as sausages, eggs, bread as well as other food and drink items and camping essentials. Here you can hire out BBQ’s and fire-pits.

- Freezer space for ice packs.

- Communal hangout barn. An area to chill and relax with others, also a place to head to on those (inevitable) rainy days.

- Animal feeding time – come and feed our little Jersey calves, pet lambs and chickens!
 
- Electrical charging- we do offer the use of power points at reception for charging devices for a small fee.
 
- Dog-friendly. – Furry companions of all sizes are welcome, provided they are kept under control.

What is it like staying in a Contemporary Yurt?

The simple answer is just imagine taking all of the best bits of camping and losing all of the not so good bits. A Contemporary Yurt is a bright, spacious circular structure consisting of a wooden frame with a lattice wall, a durable, insulated and waterproof fabric cover and a solid locking door.  Our guests love the viewing dome through which as night falls you can relax looking at the sky.   Although generally classified as a tent, a Contemporary Yurt is far more spacious (even for the tallest person), much stronger and weather tight.

Our Large Village Yurts Are Sited In An Informal Village Setting. A Sociable Environment Which Is Ideal For Friends, Families And Groups.

Situated between the lake and river, you’ll enjoy views of both, drifting off and waking to the sounds of running water. This pitch gets the shade in the morning; great for cool lie-ins on sunny days!

Belle - Standard Bell Tent

Perched on the ridge, (but sheltered by a tree line,) Barbie overlooks the lake and pine forest. Catches the sun for the longest and latest, and is one of the most private pitches.

Barbie - Standard Bell Tent

Spacious family tent at the top of the camping field, with forest views. Located conveniently close to car park 2 and the toilet/shower block.

Guy - Extra Large Bell Tent

This pitch has fantastic, close-up views of the lake and forest beyond. Its picnic bench and firepit couldn’t be closer to the lake’s edge

Peggy - Standard Bell Tent

Wake up to the sound of running water from the river, in this family sized tent, nestled between the lake, a pond and the river. This pitch sleeps up to 5 and is located at the bottom of the field, next to a large, level grassy area, making it great for kids. It’s also conveniently located right next to car park 3.

Matt - Large Bell Tent

Dartmouth Heated Outdoor Swimming Pool may not be big and flash but it is a goody within the heat with a lot of splash for the cash!this might be a very kid and family friendly hot swim that is outdoor which is open every single day in July and August for a soothing plunge or an angry splash about, entirely your decision! there is lots of space but no lane swimming. Kids' floats, inflatables and toys are welcome, so your tots that are small play within the water to their heart's extent!Here are trained lifeguards on responsibility through the season meaning even though the direction ratios are still tight if you have one or more to watch it is fat off your mind. Free Car parking is available further down on Milton Lane.
