Curly Pitch 

This pitch is our premium pitch which is a converted horsebox lorry. 
​
It is a quirky space that is suitable for a family or a couple. This is a large unit which the whole family will love as it’s a bit different and fun. There is an outside balcony to sit and enjoy looking out over the meadow and the spectacular views beyond.
 
There are 3 sleeping areas, (3 small doubles) which are above the cab, the kitchen area and a sofa bed in the living area. 
​
The accommodation is provided for those who love the idea of camping but can’t cope with all the fuss of putting up tents and having a hard floor to sleep on!  Yes -it's cheating but who will know?
​
In the horsebox there are solar powered lights, a phone charger and pumped water and sink, plus a small gas stove for the morning coffee. 
​
Outside there is a beautiful covered kitchen area with a handcrafted kitchen bench,  which is fully equipped with everything you need to cook as well as a gas hob and picnic bench. The cover extends to the fire pit area in case of rain.

Willow Acres Campsite 

Nestled amongst the willow trees & wildflower meadows of the stunning Torfaen countryside is Willow Acres Campsite. With spectacular views of the surrounding hills and valleys, get yourself a slice of peace and tranquillity in our traditional and environmental campsite.  

​This small friendly site is run by the farming families of Lasgarn farm. The working farm is home to 300 sheep and a herd of welsh black cattle and is run using traditional farming methods. You'll see a glimpse of farming life and these well-tended animals in adjoining areas of the farm. It is especially exciting during lambing and calving seasons. 
​
At just under 2 acres each pitch has been carefully arranged giving each family bags of space and privacy. With so much to do locally, we hope you will also find moments to just relax and unwind on the cosy campsite and enjoy the extra comforts that make all the difference to a camping holiday.

Dowlais Farm was bought by business partners David, Kathrin, John and Lucy in 2017 and the restoration process was started immediately. The first step was to move the landscaping business run by David and John onto the premises.  The farmhouse was very run down but after a lot of TLC David and Kathrin moved in in May 2018. The same year the sheep were added to the farm and a year later our chickens joined us. ​

Due to the size of the farm and the number of outbuildings the renovation process continues and we are currently turning the barn adjacent to the farmhouse into holiday lets. The two units will be available to rent later in 2022.

Since spring 2022 Dowlais Farm is also proud to be part of the Greener Camping Club. All Greener Camping Club campsites are carefully assessed for their sustainability, impact on the environment and opportunities for wildlife.

Dowlais Farm Camping

An Adults Only and pets (max 2 per unit) paradise site enjoying panoramic views over the Usk Valley and the 2010 Ryder Cup Golf Course. Take a stroll into the small thriving town of Caerleon (The Roman Fortress town of Isca Siluriam), enjoy one of the Roman Empires most important military sites in Britain. 

Then National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon is for you if you and your family love the Romans. Offering hundreds of things that belonged to the Romans within the Museum: decide to try finding the youngsters's teeth or the soldier's helmet. We've got a soldier's bed room built to look just how it might have inked 2,000 years back, filled with metal armour for kids to try on. At weekends you can play within our 'Family Fun Area' with putting on a costume, games and our infamous 'latrine game'. We have tracks to do round the Museum and a Family Guide towards the Gallery to greatly help answer any questions which are tricky. The Museum Garden provides a spot for families to relax and revel in a atmosphere that is pleasant. Throughout the we have a good amount of activities and tasks going on, from hands-on crafts like mosaics to viewing Gladiator fights to cooking: there's something for all your family members to find yourself in and we love moms and dads who want to try making things as well year! Outside the Museum you will find the ruins for the Fortress Baths, Amphitheatre and Barracks -  the Amphitheatre is considered the most one that is complete Britain. And our staff that is friendly will happy to help answer any questions about the Romans or Caerleon, whether for school tasks or simply away from interest.

National Roman Legion Museum

The Wacky Warehouse during the New Inn offers an excellent range that is small of adventure play gear suitable for kids aged from six months to around decade, with a height limit of 4ft9. Kids are welcome until around 9pm and there is a kids which are full menu plus the normal one. Some just simple fun with a main frame spanning three floors and incorporating loads of classic adventure play equipment there is plenty to accomplish, many of them great developmental activities for real and social ability building. Addititionally there is a different and enclosed area for young children and children of course, with soft construction obstructs as well as other friendly features simply for the people that is little. Plus there are numerous kids' party options available and drop that is regular arts and crafts sessions.
