Hello and welcome to Thornhill Farm, Goathland, a working sheep farm which has been part of this landscape since the 15th century. With easy access, our campsite field has lovely views over the fields and moors with the steam railway running a couple of fields away. The farm is just a mile outside Goathland, one of the jewels in the crown of the North York Moors National Park and the setting for much of the filming of Heartbeat. Access to the village, with its shops and places to eat, is a gentle 15-20 minute stroll along the original 1836 Whitby - Pickering railway line. Delightfully peaceful and rural, this location is also a wonderful base for walking, cycling and exploring this beautiful area and is within easy reach of Whitby, Pickering, Scarborough and York as well as all the beautiful coastal and moorland villages and a myriad of varied attractions from Whitby Abbey to the Ryedale Folk Museum to Eden Camp to Dalby Forest with its award-winning biking trails. Tents and well-behaved dogs are welcome and whether you stay for just one night or much longer, we hope you will have a wonderful time.
