Inside you will find a very comfortable sleeping area, cosy seating area, heating, fully equipped galley kitchen, fridge , microwave, and a mini dressing room with a hairdryer.

There’s lots of storage and fold out inside dining area with seating. Excellent WIFI signal and blue tooth speakers.

Out front there is a large private deck with a covered area, sun loungers, a pop up outside cinema, BBQ/ firepit and sunken bath with hot and cold running water and bubble bath. A gravel path leads to the insulated heated shower block fully plumbed with a waterfall shower. We hope we have thought of everything you would need for a relaxing rural retreat.

‘Dawn of Day’ occupies a glade in our woodland. You will share four acres only with a few chickens and plenty of wildlife. This larger hut is clad in green corrugated iron, blending in with the native trees.

Dawn of Day is named after a hamlet on the nearby Graig hill.

‘Skirrid’ is situated in our small apple orchard with views across the Monnow Valley towards Skirrid Fawr hill. You have this sunny, half-acre field all to yourselves. This pretty hut is clad in blue painted wood. Catch the morning sun in the hut, and enjoy outdoor living under the shade of an awning.

Living in a shepherd’s hut is an adventure that we think you'd love. You will be leaving your busy life behind. You will be living simply, cooking on a woodburning stove or outside over a firebowl. Your evenings will be lit by solar power. You will be ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’. But don’t worry, unlike shepherd Gabriel Oak in Thomas Hardy’s novel, your shepherd’s hut will be warm and cosy and has a comfy bed.

While our shepherds’ huts retain the charm of a traditional design, they are luxurious with double-glazed windows and insulated with sheep’s wool. They were built by us, here at Hollow Ash, using local materials and craftspeople.

If you are looking for a holiday where you can relax, rejuvenate and enjoy the great outdoors, then the gorgeous **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** in **Herefordshire** is quite possibly the place you’ve been looking for.  Nestled in the countryside between **Wales** and **England**, in the small village of **Longtown**, with views over the **Black Mountains** and the **Brecon Beacons National Park**, you couldn’t find a more lovely place to get away from everything and recharge the old batteries.  **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** has been created lovingly with only six boutique **shepherds huts** and two **luxury log pods** available for families, couples, friends….whoever you want to share your holiday with. The location of **Offa’s Dyke Retreat** is absolutely awesome.  Just a few miles from the **Welsh border**, the glamping site is right on the edge of the **Brecon Beacons**, where you are just a stone’s throw away from some of the most stunning walks, cycle rides, canoeing, caving and exploring to be done in the UK.  With vast green open spaces and views for miles, walks here are breathtaking.  There are a range of routes, depending on abilities, plus loads of **trails for cycling and mountain biking** if you’ve brought your bike.  The Brecon Beacons is also one of the most exciting parts of the country for **caving**, and you can explore this extraordinary subterranean world alongside one of the expert guides.  If the full caving experience sounds too wild, then the stunning **Dan yr Ogof Showcaves** offer the chance to explore the caves and rock formations in slightly less intense circumstances!

There is a wonderfully relaxed and old-school atmosphere here at Cayo Retreat in Herefordshire.  Situated on a working farm, this ' Multi award winning campsite is beautifully laid out and stunning, with dramatic views of the Black Mountains as a backdrop and the glorious Brecon Beacons National Park on your doorstep.  Come here for a digital detox, to get back to nature and enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. The campsite has individual bathrooms along with their own beautifully modern wet~  rooms and drinking water.  The site is immaculately kept by the owners, and facilities and pitches are spotless. Well-placed lights are dotted around to give the place a magical feel, and campfires are very much encouraged, with wood available on site.

All are very welcome here - caravans, tents, motorhomes and campervans - and there is a large range of pitches to choose from, with some set along the meandering river that runs through the site.  If you don’t have camping gear then there are a few glamping options; pre-erected (unfurnished) bell tents or - for an extra touch of luxury - treat yourself to one of their ' Triple awatd winning 'fully furnished deluxe Bell Tents - beautifully decked out with beds and bedding, cosy throws, seating and lanterns. The enviable location of Cayo Retreat means that you don’t have to go very far to get to some of the area's best walking and mountain biking trails around the Brecon Beacons and Offa’s Dyke, so dig out those hiking boots and get exploring. John Scudamore, who died in 1571 lies beside his wife on a tomb chest, decked out in full armour. James Scudamore, who died in 1668, wears Roman costume in a great wedding cake of a wall monument – possibly by Grinling Gibbons. Beautiful stained glass also delights the eye. Most of it is nineteenth and twentieth century, though the chancel north window is made up of fragments of medieval glass.

Entirely hand built by a culture that is regional 1962, the Broomy Hill Miniature Railway is a charming treat for your little trainspotters, provided there is an available time!It's a thoughtfully conceited arranged and all sorts of gauges of model locomotive are catered for with both a raised and a ground level track. The shorter, elevated track accommodates small locomotives, utilizing the larger more specimens which are impressive in the longer track which operates from Broomy Hill facility, where there is a hands on railway set for kids and an archive museum with photos and memorabilia on display. Ideal for those who can't get train that will do chuff!Public are available from 12:00 until 16:30 in the 2nd and last Sundays regarding the thirty days, during Spring, Summer and Autumn.
