Hidden Valley Gardens

Nestled in three acres of award-winning gardens, tucked away in a beautiful corner of the Cornish countryside, is the very lovely Garden Studio at Hidden Valley Gardens. Here you will be living indoors but outdoors, in a quaint, romantic bolthole for two; a building made of natural stone, and set quietly in its own pretty surroundings. This fully self catering accommodation is accessed by an external wooden staircase which leads to a private decking area for al fresco dining and inside is a very well furnished studio room with views out across the picturesque gardens. The lounge has a sofa, coffee table and satellite TV and there is also a large bathroom and a galley kitchen with everything you need for your stay. The studio is very well decorated - tasteful but unfussy - with plenty of natural light flooding in through the velux windows. There is parking onsite. You can stroll around the lovely gardens day and night, or sit in the gazebo with views over the garden and hills.

The gardens themselves are an absolute treat for the senses. Hidden Valley Gardens is a lovely, cottage style garden (with a specialist plant nursery too), and there are 26 colourful beds and borders - packed with unusual plants - to admire and wander around. It is a special place and a peaceful spot to sit and while away the hours amongst the herbaceous perennials, shrubs and collections of Crocosmia, Agapanthus and Dahlias. There is also a pond area full of wildlife, a Japanese area and a Medierranean area. To be staying amongst all this is a real treat.

If you decide to leave the gardens, you will discover lots to do in the local area; Hidden Valley Gardens is in a great location to explore some of the best Cornwall has to offer. Very close to the coast, there are some absolutely lovely villages and towns to visit and world class attractions to see. The bustling port of Fowey, with its medieval buildings and busy harbour is only twenty minutes drive away and a super place to visit. Take a boat trip down the Fowey Estuary, see the blockhouses guarding the opening to the estuary and admire the incredible Polperro Heritage Coast - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and take one of the walking trails along the South West Coast Path National Trail. Fowey is full of quaint independent shops, excellent restaurants and delicious seafood. This gorgeous stretch of coastline is known as the Cornish Riviera, and nearby beaches include Crinnis, Par Sands and Polkerris. From Fowey, a ferry can be taken to the picturesque fishing town of Mevagissey. The world famous Eden Project is also very close by.

Hidden Valley Gardens is a lovely place to stay and a wonderful retreat to escape to at the end of a busy day exploring Cornwall. It is completely unique in its position in the centre of beautiful gardens, and for a quiet and private place to stay - close to some of Cornwall's finest countryside and coast - it takes some beating.
