Shepherd's Hut

We are a 1-acre site located in Suffolk on part of an agricultural farm, the site is situated on a hill and has a small fishing lake. Non-Electric Grass Pitch

Private cabin situated in a secluded corner of the site. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children, kitchen, shower, wc, double bed, sofa bed, table and log burner. A private courtyard to the back and large decking area to the front overlooking the small lake.

Superb 2 bedroom Safari Tent with kitchen, sitting/dining area and private shower and WC. Fully equipped with kitchen utensils, cooking equipment and everything you need for a fabulous stay. All you need to bring is your own bedding!

Situated so that you can enjoy an evening drink on your own private veranda, looking out over the pond.

Non Electric Pitch

We have the brilliant Helsport Valhall tents (subject to availabilty) on site, with electric hookup available on arrangement. Developed for extreme weather, its design and build ensures it is warm and functional whatever time of the year you stay. The Valhall features three distinct areas which are separated by inner tent walls. The price includes rental of the tent and pitch – and up to 4 adults on the pitch (no limit on number of children). Please note that whilst we do accomodate for 1 night stays, you will still be charged the amount for 2 nights.

Pitches with electric hookup available, 10 of which offer freesat TV as an option.  Caravans, motorhomes, campervans, tents or trailer tents are all permitted.

The Orchard Campsite



With no club and no pool, people who come to Fen Farm do so for the tranquil atmosphere and children often surprise themselves by finding an occupation that does not involve anything being switched on or booted up!

There are always the play areas with swings, seesaws, climbing frames etc. In addition to this, children enjoy ‘crabbing’ in the creeks, playing on the beach or in the sea. We also have an open field for ball games, flying kites or just walking the dog.

Dogs are welcome and there are dog walks all around the park. There are also many footpath walks nearby as well as a dog friendly beach. Ideal for people looking for a quiet family retreat, situated by the sea and close to a country park in a small village on Mersea Island. The Farm has been owned by the Lord family since 1918 and the first tents were pitched in 1923, so the park has grown rather than been developed.


Our aim is to run a peaceful, tranquil park therefore we do not accept bookings of 3 or more pitches. A group is defined by the number of units not the number of people in each unit. We politely ask that people do not make separate bookings and then form a group on arrival or congregate together on site during their stay.

Unfortunately, due to previous experience, we cannot accept bookings of groups of people under 21.

At Wild Raspberry Ceramic Cafe you are able to sit and paint a ceramic or piece that is textile with lots of guidance. This is certainly a activity that is ideal children and adult, boys and girls! Its enjoyable, innovative (even you are not!) and relaxing.There is a fantastic stock of bisque ceramics to paint, including plates, jugs, dog bowls, fairies, racing vehicles and a lot more.The paint your own textiles includes bags, stretched wall surface panels and t-shirts if you think. You may also make your personal enamelled jewellery, including charm bracelets, chokers, earrings and broaches (11 years of age and up).
