Seven Stars Inn

The Lodge is a mobile home that has wonderful countryside views overlooking the field with sheep, Alpaca, and horses.

The open plan sitting room is well furnished with a 3-seater comfy reclining sofa, flat-screen TV/ with a dining table overlooking the fields. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with a gas oven and hob, a microwave fridge, and a freezer. There is a bathroom with a shower.

The Lodge has one double room with on-suite access to the bathroom and a second bedroom equipped with two single beds, this is suited to children as space is limited. If 3 adults wish to stay, then one of the beds can be removed to give sufficient space.

There is parking for up to two cars on the private driveway, a garden with a patio area, a washing line, a BBQ, and a table and chairs. In a separate utility room behind Cherry and Willow Barn, you will find clothes washing facilities including a washing machine, tumble dryer.

Heath View Caravan

Nutley Farm is in a superb location for a relaxing break in the Dorset Purbecks and a great place for children and dogs. Set within the Tadnol Heath Nature Reserve close to the spectacular World Heritage Jurassic Coastline famous for Lulworth Cove or Durdle Door and in easy reach of Moreton, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorchester and the fascinating Tynenham Village. There are some excellent pubs which offer superb dining and a highly rated village shop close by.

With wi-fi and modern facilities these beautiful cottages have a four star rating with visit England. The cottages are light and airy in summer and warm and welcoming in winter with exposed beams and underfloor heating.

Guests that book for 4 or more nights are welcomed with a hamper of fresh produce from the farm including eggs from our chickens. Visitors can enjoy the animals which include visiting and helping to feed our Reindeer, you can also experience an alpaca firsthand by taking these lovely animals for a walk around the farm. Our cottages are also available to be rented together to provide accommodation for extended family or friends.

We offer a fantastic kids play area with plenty of seating for adults, conveniently located next to the farm animals & Kitchen Garden, giving you panoramic supervising vision – A must at all times!

Not only are the grounds one of the most tranquil within the County, but it’s steeped in history with links to T E Lawrence, one of Britain’s finest war heroes, an Oxford Scholar & Close friend of Winston Churchill… better known to most as Lawrence of Arabia, who now rests in the village’s peaceful cemetery of St Nicholas’ Church (regardless of your religion or spiritual beliefs – this is a must-see just for its fine architecture and beautiful stain-glassed windows).

The Walled Garden Camping

Pitches are gently sloping and one tent is permitted per pitch, regardless of size. For additional tents, extra pitches will need to be booked. We do not allocate spaces therefore you will be able to choose where you would like to pitch. As a 10 acre site, there will be plenty of choice. Included in the price is 2 people and a vehicle. Extras such as people, vehicles, dogs and gazebos can be added.

Donkey Down has unfurnished bell tents which include 4 people and a vehicle in the price. Extras such as people, vehicles and dogs can be added.

Bell Tent Hire

Only in its third year of running, you’d be mistaken for thinking that lovely Donkey Down campsite had been nestled into the Dorset Coastline for years.  Set on a gently sloping site on the Jurassic Inland Coast path, just above the charming village of Sutton Poyntz, Donkey Down is part of a working organic livestock farm.  It’s tents only here, and has the festival feel of a pop-up campsite but the calm vibe of back to nature wild camping.  If you don’t want to bring your own tent, they have some Bell Tents for hire.  

Choose your own pitch anywhere on the grassy field (don’t panic - there are enough awesome views to go around), and set up your tent looking over Weymouth Bay or the rolling Dorset countryside; they limit the number of pitches, so there is plenty of open space for everyone. No electricity means that dark starry nights are on the cards for those evenings around the campfire.  There are eco toilets and a block of six shower cubicles, drinking water is available and there are also sinks for washing up and a small onsite shop selling essentials.   

The South Dorset Ridgeway passes through Donkey Down, a 17-mile ancient track running along the south coast.  This ridge of high land has been used for thousands of years by people and several Stone Age burial mounds can be seen along here, one in Donkey Down itself.  The Ridgeway is considered as important as Stonehenge for the scale of monuments and what they tell us about Neolithic life, but remains one of Dorsets best kept secrets!

The location of Donkey Down is part of its brilliance.  Walkers are in for an absolute treat, with hiking routes all along the coast to the famous White Horse at Osmington and beyond.  Family-friendly Weymouth beach is a 10-minute drive away, boasting lovely shallow waters, golden sands, donkey rides, and a small amusement park.  Weymouth harbour is a great place to watch the boats come in, scoff some delicious fresh fish and chips, and even do a spot of crabbing off the side.  

Water Sports enthusiasts will love Bowleaze Cove and Chesil Beach (the bit between Weymouth and Portland) for awesome surfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.  Sandworld, the most underrated attraction on the south coast (in my humble opinion), lies on the other side of Weymouth at Lodmoor Nature reserve.  Run by the same family of sculptors for years, this place has giant sand sculptures of everyone from Arnold Schwarzenegger to Scooby Doo and it is gobsmacking.  Also at Lodmoor is a Sealife centre and a miniature train, so you can take a picnic and make a day of it.  Further afield, Abbotsbury Gardens, Bridport, West Bay, Dorchester and Portland Bill lighthouse are all a good trip out if you have time.  

It is worth booking a few nights at Donkey Down to fully appreciate the amazing Jurassic coast; you will not run out of things to do.  And after a busy day, Donkey Down campsite is the perfect place to retreat to - the campers who have stayed at this new campsite have only amazing things to say about it.   This gem is only open for 28 days (from 27th May until 19th June in 2022) so don’t miss out!

New for 2020, Donkey Down is situated on the South Dorset Ridgeway. A peaceful 10 acre site enjoying stunning views over Weymouth Bay, Portland and the surrounding countryside. A gently sloping site situated on the Jurassic Inland Coast Path. Donkey Down is part of a working organic farm and home to a neolithic tumulus, there are rare flora and fauna to be found.

The Auto-Roller 747 is a very spacious and popular family motorhome. The 747 boasts a large U-shaped end lounge which converts to a double bed along with an elevating electric double bed over the dinette that seats 4 and converts to a further double bed. The well equipped kitchen features a generous fridge/freezer, 3 burner gas hob and separate gas oven/grill. The bathroom has a shower and separate cassette type WC. Lulworth Equestrian Centre is a fully BHS approved riding and establishment that is livery is found within the heart regarding the charming Dorset countryside. They feature a selection of over 55 much mounts which are loved from ponies at 11 hands up to horses as much as 16.3 arms, all nicely mannered and well trained for a variety of ages and abilities generally there's bound to be one perfectly for you personally! Lulworth Equestrian Centre

This internationally-acclaimed ape rescue centre, is set within 65 acres of beautiful Dorset woodland.  Opened in 1987 to provide abused Spanish beach chimpanzees with a permanent home, the site is now a sanctuary for primates from across the globe. Many have been neglected, kept on unnatural conditions or experienced unbelievable cruelty.  Some are now part of international breeding programmes for endangered species.  At Monkey World, they can all enjoy the company of their own kind in a safe, natural environment.
Monkey World was originally set up by Jim Cronin, MBE who sadly passed away in 2007.  Today, his wife, Dr Alison Cronin, MBE, continues to work with foreign governments worldwide to stop the illegal smuggling of primates from Africa, Asia and South America. 
With over 260 primates of 24 different species, Monkey World is the largest ape and monkey rescue centre in the world.
Monkey World is a fantastic day out! The park is imaginatively laid out and has food and drink outlets, picnic areas, a woodland walk, and a lot of monkey antics to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages.  
Combining fun with conservation and animal education, half-hourly talks at the park explain all about man’s closest living relative.  Visitors can see the stars of TV’s ‘Monkey Life’, then ‘monkey around’ in the south’s largest Great Ape Play Area for children with its huge variety of swings, slides, and climbing frames.

You can even help Monkey World to rescue and rehabilitate more primates by adopting a monkey or ape.  ‘Adoptive parents’ receive a year’s pass to the park, a photograph of their adopted primate, certificate, and copies of the Ape Rescue Chronicle up to three times a year.  

Monkey World is just minutes from the A31 near Wool, and is open every day (except Christmas Day) 10am to 5pm.  Last admission is 1 hour before closing.

Durdle Door is one of the most landmarks being photographed the Jurassic Coast due to the rock arch into the sea, formed because of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. Eventually the arch will collapse to go out of an ocean stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon.Each 12 months more than 200,000 walkers use the footpath between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which makes it the stretch that is busiest into the south west.This popular beach has no facilities although there are general public toilets at Durdle Door getaway Park. Another smaller one is available free of charge at the entry towards the getaway park.Dogs welcome all year.The postcode given is for the area tourist information centre to utilize with satnav, so please plan your full journey separately in summer, a mobile kiosk on the path leading to Durdle Door provides ice ointments and refreshments.Swimming is possible although the coastline shelves sharply and there's no lifeguard cover so great care must be taken with little ones.Pay parking offered at cliff top car park between March and October, through the wintertime.
