Tan Aeldroch is a 42 acre Welsh sheep farm.  Now run as a Nature Reserve, the current owners have been working to restore the natural ecology of the valley since 2003.   Tan Aeldroch has been a well established campsite since 1951 and many people return year after year to enjoy its unique setting. ​Nestled in the stunning Lledr valley, Camp Snowdonia offers a true back-to-nature camping experience.  The site is beautiful and peaceful,  and comprises two flat fields - bordered on one side by the mighty Lledr River.  It's a quiet haven - about as close to 'wild' camping as you can get on a site. No music allowed, quiet site.

When you step into either of our two domes you will be greeted by a sense of space with its tall ceiling and 5.8m diameter.  Comfortably and charmingly furnished to sleep up to 4 people. 
 
Enjoy the views of the rolling countryside, sunsets and the stars in the night sky all from inside the cosy dome through its panoramic window.  Snuggle up next to the log fire and enjoy its warm glow or take in the fresh air outside next to the dome side campfire.

Each dome is furnished with a double bed, two single sofa beds, storage, lamps, warm blankets and a log burner.  Outside you will find a toilet and a covered kitchen and dining area next to each dome. The kitchen is equipped with a camping stove, coolbox, utensils, saucepans, cutlery, crockery and some basics such as sugar, salt, teabags and coffee. You will find a fridge and freezer to use in the communal area along with washing up facilities and designated showers for each dome.

Snowdrop Dome

Just three large private camping pitches nestled in amongst the wildflowers and meadow. Escape back to nature with the luxury of your own 'posh' eco/compost toilet on your pitch along with a campfire pit and picnic bench. A large camping pitch roughly 18m wide by 6m deep (including toilet, campfire and bench) on an existing campsite.

The pitch is non-electric however, there is a plug socket in the communal area to use for charging you are welcome to use, along with a shared freezer for ice packs, fridge, mini shop, washing up facilities, tourist information and games.

A hot powered large shower for the few camping pitches in the communal area is included in the price.

WELCOME TO PANT Y RHEDYN

Pant Y Rhedyn is a 10-acre smallholding sitting in the hills of the Conwy valley.  We are lucky to enjoy panoramic views of unspoilt countryside and the Snowdonia mountain range.  We are located centrally to the local tourist towns of Llanrwst and Llandudno. We are also a short drive away from Snowdonia National Park.

Enjoy meeting our animals up close.  We have Alpacas, pigs, sheep and chickens who all love attention from our guests.
 

We are a family recently relocated from Kent (although some families were originally from North Wales so we have come home) to set up our little smallholding in the beautiful surroundings of North Wales. We are building up our smallholding and currently have our vegetable garden, pigs, alpacas, sheep and chickens.  

Pant y Rhedyn, an old welsh longhouse is surrounded by plenty of trees, beautiful gardens and a vegetable garden. We have a small woodland to one side, a paddock for the sheep and alpacas on the other side and a rear meadow that is home to our dome accommodation.

Bronze Pitch

In the heart of the gorgeous North Wales countryside you will find Bryn Ffanigl Ganol Caravan and Camping Park; a small, family run campsite where you will be greeted with open arms and given a very warm welcome.  It’s a rural spot, and with the glorious rolling green hills as a backdrop and 360 degree panoramic views from every pitch, it is not difficult to see why guests come back and stay here again and again.  It is a peaceful, friendly and quiet campsite in a tranquil setting; everyone is welcome (including dogs) and you are assured of a very relaxing stay.

The spacious pitches are well set out over the campsite with hardstanding and grass pitches available and a variety of options depending on whether you want a fully serviced pitch, electricity or a more basic tent pitch.  A spanking clean and underfloor heated shower and toilet block opened in 2018 and is very well maintained - still looking brand new actually - and there are all the facilities you need including a laundry, a washing up area and a chemical disposal.  They also have a tourist and information point, so if you are not familiar with this part of Wales, you can get your bearings and find out exactly what you can do in the local area and where things are.  The wardens on the campsite are always available and very happy to help out.

The location is cracking. The green farmland of Bryn Ffanigl Ganol sits only a few miles from the nearest beach and the north Wales coastal roads offer a vast variety of stunning scenery. Visit the elegant town of Llandudno, one of Britain’s most popular seaside resorts, with a history that goes back to the Bronze Age. Or Conwy - only 20 minutes away from the campsite - with its imposing 13th century Castle and walls that form part of the local UNESCO World Heritage Site.  The town walls are considered to be among the finest and most complete in Europe, stretching for nearly a mile around medieval Conwy, with 21 towers and 3 original gateways.  It is quite a sight.  If you don’t mind heights,  you can walk the length of the walls and will be treated to stunning views of the Castle and the estuary beyond.

Gwrych Castle, last year’s home to the celebs on “I’m a Celebrity Get me out of Here!” is a fifteen minute drive away; they are currently in the throes of a restoration project, but you can still visit and it is a spectacular building.  The coast and its attractions however are only half the story.  Bryn Ffanigl Ganol is close to the spectacular Snowdonia National Park, where you can hike, bike and climb to your heart’s content, with some of the most magnificent trails, mountains and lakes to be seen anywhere in the UK.  

Back at the campsite all is quiet.  The rural location means that your pitch is a welcome sanctuary at the end of a day exploring all north Wales has to offer.  And depending on how wild your adventures have been, you might be glad of a hot shower and an evening just putting your feet up and watching the sun go down.

**Parc Pen Y Bryn** is a lovely rural campsite in **North Wales**, not far from the border of the stunning **Snowdonia National Park** and right next door to one of North Wales’s best kept secrets - the **Clocaenog Forest**.  Pen Y Bryn is Welsh for ‘top of the hill’, and surely Clocaenog is Welsh for ‘magical place’….and if it’s not then it should be.  This glorious conifer forest covers an area of 100km2 and is pure Welsh Narnia, with towering trees, heather moorland, winding trails, hidden forest paths, waterfalls and good tracks for family cycling or horse riding. It is also home to one of the last remaining populations of red squirrels in Wales and an important area for the rare black grouse and many birds of prey.  Also look out for otters, green finches and woodpeckers.  Wildlife enthusiast or not, it’s all quite an incredible experience.

Back to the campsite itself.  Well, there are many things to love here, not least the wonderfully welcoming owners, who make it their business to ensure all campers have a fantastic time - and guest reviews very much reflect this.  Parc Pen Y Bryn is in a **secluded and quiet location,** with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside of grassy fields and wind turbines slowly turning in the distance.  Bags of space and only a small number of pitches mean that the campsite feels very spacious, with plenty of room for everyone - families, couples, dogs and all - to roam around freely, and the **smart hardstanding pitches** make it straightforward for all manor of campervans and motorhomes to park up easily.  

If you don’t have your own accommodation then never fear, the site also has a handful of very **pretty wooden cabins**, each with a double bed and a sofa bed, TV, kitchenette (with kettle, toaster, hob, fridge, pans) and an outdoor decking area with chairs and a firepit for al fresco cooking.  The modern facilities (a swish shower and toilet block) are very well kept indeed, and a communal kitchen is available to prepare food in and wash up.  There is a small wooded area and field to exercise the dog, and dotted around the site are picnic benches to sit and admire the gorgeous views. 

Although Parc Pen Y Bryn is rural, you are in a fantastic location to explore North Wales, with **Llyn Brenig reservoir** just a short drive away offering a whole variety of water based activities such as sailing, SUP hire, kayaking and fishing, as well as mountain biking and excellent walking trails.  The pretty village of **Betws-y-Coed** is less than half an hour away and a great base for visiting Snowdonia National Park and all the many attractions and activities there.  Also close by is the charming and lively town of **Ruthin**, with centuries of history and a veritable bevy of independent shops, fantastic restaurants and a great arts scene, and the town of **Corwen**, situated in the picturesque Dee Valley and a great place to explore.  Locally, you can visit the village of Clawddnewydd which has a shop for any supplies needed, and a great community run pub - The Glan Llyn Inn - with local ales and delicious home cooked food.  There is also The Crown Inn, which is just a couple of minutes drive away and a lovely traditional pub that sits just by the River Alwen in the village of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr.  Back at the campsite, light the firepit and relax in tranquil surroundings.  This is a truly lovely campsite - wild at heart but comfortably modern -  and perfect for exploring this gorgeous part of Wales.




Pen y Bryn Glamping and Touring Site

Named for the Great Orme visible along the coast. And available to book for couples or young families.

Orme, named for Llandudno's famous landmark, the Great Orme which can be viewed from the coastal footpaths nearby the Coppice will be our 'Family' pod, due for completion in 2022. It's decor will have a "Countryside" twist with woolen throws draping the bed, farm animal inspired artwork, and a woodland to enjoy right outside the door.

Whilst the Coppice is not geared towards specific family holidays, what we are ideal for is those youngest families where you're not quite ready to give up on a quality "grown up" break, and your children aren't quite ready for kids clubs and mass entertainment. Have the campfire experience, toast some Marshmallows, and just enjoy the great outdoors, whilst the awesome indoors is always ready and waiting for you close by.

All our pods have an ensuite shower room as well as kitchen facilities, and underfloor heating. 

Please note that this accommodates only 2 adults. Additional 2 guests can either only be children or infants.

Orme Berth Pod

Ayr, named for the Point of Ayr lighthouse, on Talacre Beach, is our flagship 2 berth pod. It's decor has a "Coastal" twist in keeping with its namesake. With woollen throws, fresh & light beach inspired colour scheme, and local coastal artwork on the walls.

Ayr is further enhanced by being an extra metre longer than our standard pod, and with a side entrance. enables the addition of a much larger ensuite shower room, and a sumptuous snuggle chair to cuddle up in front of your wood burning stove (new 2022) on those cooler nights.

​Also new for 2022, Ayr will have a semi covered decking area to the front leading to your private and secluded Wood fired hot tub!​

Please note: for the rest of the 2021 season, Ayr remains available as our family pod with a 2 + 2 berth layout. But there are discounts for 2 person occupancy.

Conwy Valley Railway Museum is filled with classic railway information and artefacts however with young ones in tow it won't function as act that is main! Nonetheless kids will relish pushing the buttons to help make the 5 model railways inside the museum run across the track.a ride that is real (rather than model) miniature railway takes you on a 10 moment trip around the beautifully landscaped grounds. You may possibly see wild rabbits grazing, they're usually spotted close to the pond if you should be fortunate. There is also a dark tunnel that is little the train to go through which will thrill the smalls! Trains operate every day from 10:30 to 16:30.For the youngsters you will find dodgem automobiles and rides them to bring their pocket money along that they'll access for just 50p each so encourage! They are able to drive the Tomy tram along its very own track, too!Additionally there is a 66' scenic that is long railway in just one of the old standard gauge rolling stock vans that will be frequently a favourite of the kids', so it is far from a critical chuffhead ranch, there is a great amount of welcoming and entertaining elements created just for the little individuals too. Yay!there is also a cafe for refreshments and a gift shop to saunter about so in general it is a pleasingly well facilitated out that's ideal for small kids and grand-parents time!

Conwy Valley Railway Museum

Snowdonia National Park is a stunning area in northwest Wales, made up of mountains and glacial landscapes covering 823 square miles, with 14 peaks taller than 3000 feet and over 100 lakes.  The National Park is home to over 26,000 people and steeped in culture and tradition, with more than half the population speaking native Welsh.  Around 10 million people visit Snowdonia National Park every year to explore the many attractions, but don't let that put you off; there are miles of gorgeous Welsh hills for everyone.  If you don't want to hike or cycle, then a great way to see around is on one of the many small mountain train journeys - with jaw-dropping views aplenty - across Llyn Pada, Talyllyn, Bala Lake and the Welsh Highland railway, all taking you through the winding countryside.  The jewel in the crown, Mount Snowden is the largest peak in England and Wales and offers views across to Ireland on a clear day.  There is also a mountain train to the top if you aren't keen on the climb.  Hills aside, the beautiful Snowdonia landscape is packed with history; the evidence of which can be seen everywhere - ruins of hills forts, standing stones and medieval castles, meaning there is a huge amount to explore here, so leave yourself plenty of time.
