Just 4 miles away from Pickering with good shopping, restaurants and takeaways, leisure centre and swimming pool, and the famous North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. Goathland, renowned as Heartbeat’s ’Aidensfield’, is just 7 miles away, and Flamingo Land Theme Park and Eden Camp, a Second World War museum, are both within 10 miles. Castle Howard and Nunnington Hall are within 15 miles as is the coast at Whitby.

Bank Top Camping is a family owned and run camping and caravan-park with 30 grass pitches with electric hook-ups in beautiful North Yorkshire.  A spacious site with spectacular views over the Vale of Pickering, we are situated on the southern fringes of the North York Moors National Park. Rawcliffe Bank Top Farm sits in the heart of peaceful countryside surrounded by mature woodland and idyllic scenery; 5 miles north of the market town of Pickering and an hour from the historic city of York. A well established campsite with immaculate facilities offering peaceful surroundings and a plethora of flora and local wildlife, Bank Top Camping is a family run camping and caravan-park. We welcome families, groups of friends, bikers and walkers who seek a relaxing break in tranquil surroundings. We welcome your pets; we have a selection of our own pets and animals.

A luxury amenities block with under-floor heating, free showers and separate family and disabled facilities serves our immaculate park.  There is a laundry room with a washer, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer; a covered washing up area with plenty of hot water and washing up essentials and chemical disposal facility.  

With pitches around the periphery of the large camping field there is plenty of space for children’s games.  There is an additional smaller paddock that is well suited for larger groups; all pitches have electric hook up.  We welcome dogs but request that they are kept on a lead whilst on site; there is easy access from the park directly onto local woodland walks. There are several wooden picnic tables/benches available for your use.

We have arrive at tall Dalby with differing and varied backgrounds which are professional. Ian, one-time rugby player, is a chartered engineer, investing much of his career in construction including a period operating a sizable manufacturing business before establishing his or her own property and consultancy company. Linda taught English before becoming a head that is additional,then an education consultant, facilitator and mentor, before embarking upon research in practical theology and learning.Both of us had been ordained into the Anglican church later in life, finding our vocations as priests coming to fruition from serendipitous religious journeys. Ian ended up being a parish priest, Linda, initially his curate, working alongside him, and in addition training as a Director.Our that is religious own of faith separately and together, stay just that, journeys of faith. For train enthusiasts we are halfway between Levisham Station and Newtondale Halt on the North York Moors Railway (you can even see the steam trains from the paddock).

But to soak up the peace and quiet you need go no further than the barbecue area or the paddock outside the front door.

Kale Pot Cottage has downstairs a double bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom, plus a twin bedded room with separate wetroom. There is space for a third bed in this room if required.
The fully fitted kitchen, lounge and dining area are upstairs, with our very own spring water “on tap”. There is full central heating throughout – with a log stove in the lounge, together with HD television.

There is no mobile signal around Kale Pot but WiFi is available if you need to keep in touch.

Outside is ample fenced parking space with an electric vehicle (EV) fast charging point, a cycle store plus washing facilities and a beautiful walled patio area with its own barbecue.

Kale Pot Cottage is a converted 18th Century barn offering self-catering peace and tranquillity.  Standing alone in our 3 acre paddock it's secluded but just 100 yards from a forest road. Surrounded by woodland you will find neighbours:  badgers, foxes and deer are frequently seen  owls and woodpeckers heard. Our isolated location means that on a clear night you won*t believe just how many stars there are! Situated just 10 miles from the bustling market city of Pickering, Kale Pot Cottage is convenient for moors and coast, and just 45 minutes from the historic city of York. Right on the doorstep is breathtaking Newtondale,  in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

The  spacious accommodation  has a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom plus a twin bedroom (with space for third bed) and wetroom. The fully fitted kitchen area, lounge and dining area  are upstairs to give fabulous views over the dale. There is full central heating, double glazing and a log burner in the lounge - for year-round comfort. Outside there is ample parking, cycle store and  barbecue area.
