On the fabulously located Riviere Towans holiday park near Hayle in West Cornwall, sits “Wee Cott”; a detached, privately owned, traditional style holiday chalet. The chalet has everything you need for your holiday, including sofas, flat screen TV, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with tassimo coffee maker fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine, pots and pans and crockery. There are three bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 single and one bunkbed room, so plenty of room for everyone - including the dog, they’re welcome too. Bedding - pillows and duvets - is provided (please bring your own linen) and the whole place is kept beautifully clean. There is also a toilet and shower room, parking, and free wifi available in the chalet. Outside, there is a lovely new decking area which is perfect for al fresco dining and admiring the spectacular views.
Riviere Towans is a peaceful and family friendly site with some fantastic amenities, wonderful views and lots of space. There is an excellent children's play park, and the site is perfectly placed for access to the amazing Cornish coastline; there are beautiful walks directly from Riviere Towans so there is no need to go far if you don’t want to. Further afield, there are many lovely day trips to nearby places; explore the delights of Land’s End, St Michaels Mount at Marazion, The Lizard Peninsula and the pretty Helford River. Several of the locations for the Poldark series are nearby, so fans (and non-fans!) can visit some of the dramatic settings used.
The nearby beaches (and they are very near!) are some of the best in Cornwall. Riviere Towans looks over St Ives Bay, a stunning, vast, crescent-shaped expanse of sand stretching for 6 miles along the coast and around to Godrevy Head and the renowned Godrevy lighthouse - made famous by Virginia Woolf in her novel - “To the Lighthouse”. And if you do find yourself at Godrevy, head to Mutton Cove and spot the colonies of seals that bask on the beach here; in October you might be lucky enough to see the fluffy white pups. Gwithian beach - backed by sand dunes and tufts of grass - is a gorgeous sandy stretch and at low tide, reveals a huge amount of rock pools to explore. It is also an excellent spot for surfing. Further along to the west of St Ives bay is Porthkidney Sands, a beautiful beach with crystal clear waters and a very tranquil spot. Porthminster Beach, Bamaluz Beach and Carbis Bay Beach are also all within walking distance and all boast clear waters, sandy shores and wonderful scenery.
While staying at Wee Cott there is no need to travel far to explore the area; there is so much to see and do right by the park itself, and if you are looking for a relaxing break in one of the most gloriously scenic spots in Cornwall, then this is the place. The views are delightful and there is no better place to watch the sun go down in the evening. For a family-friendly break to explore some of Cornwall’s prettiest beaches and coastline, this is the perfect spot.
