Anglers Country Park

Anglers Country Park, located 4 miles southeast of Wakefield, is a large country park and rural retreat, that is fantastic for walking and picnics, and contains a youngsters' adventure playground to burn up any energy that is excess! The park has also a Visitor Centre, a cafe, free airport parking, and it is liberated to go to: hooray!you will find paths and trails to follow along with, such as the 2 mile Lakeside Walk, additionally the Woodland walk, plus is it a good starting place to many other footpaths and trails, such as the Barnsley Canal Towpath, or the Waterton Trail. The park is dominated by a lake, that will be surrounded by woodland, grassland, and a wetland area know once the 'Pol'.There is definitely plenty of wildlife to see at this nature that is local, from Swifts and Swallows into the Spring, to waterfowl in the Autumn, and wildlife sightings are noted on a blackboard during the entrance to the park.
