Copse Lodge

The beautiful Ty Coed (woodland style) lodges, combining the simplicity of quality ecological design, natural materials and timeless ethos. With a distinct sense of place they are designed to maintain engagement with the ‘natural world’ ethos of naturesbase by locating dining and kitchen areas on the outside veranda sheltered underneath a turf roof.

Inside is all about comfort. You’ll find timber floor boards, beautiful bathrooms and hand made beds with fluffy duvets, soft pillows but with the living space spilling out onto the veranda and dining area. The fully equipped kitchen has 2 gas hobs, small fridge, sink and the luxury of hot and cold running water and large dining area.

Forest and Woodland both sleep 6, one double room and one room with 2 hand made bunk beds, a bathroom, sitting room and alfresco kitchen dining area under cover on the deck over looking the courtyard.

Come and enjoy a quality uncrowded family campsite with ten pitches divided between two large fields allowing ample space between tents. Each pitch is freshly mown and is divided by meadow flowers and sheltered with willows, rowan and hazel trees. Fire pits are dug on each pitch providing opportunities for evening fires.

Bring your own tent or if you are new to camping or want a different experience you can stay in one of our lovely fully furnished safari tents.

Beyond the immediate camping fields are two further fields for ball games, frisbee and family rounders. The stream and woodland beyond allow opportunities for letting the dog and children run free and play wild building camps and making dams.

A core feature is the promotion of environmentally responsible tourism which we strive to incorporate into all aspects of how we manage the site.

We only have two pitches suitable for trailer tents, so please contact us if you’re planning to bring one. Small trailers can be pushed to most pitches, but please let us know you are bringing one.

We have a beautiful shepherds hut which provides that added bit of luxury compared to traditional camping. The individually designed hut is luxurious and comes with a range of facilities to suit all your needs. Inside there is a double bunk bed, fluffy duvets, deep mattresses and wonderful feather pillows. The hut can be arranged to accommodate 2 adults or 2 adults and two children. There is also a wood burning stove, spacious seating / dining area and storage.

Outside yet under cover is the shower and compost toilet, a large undercover seating area with picnic table, and the bespoke spacious alfresco kitchen adjacent to the hut providing ample sheltered space to cook and dine yet surrounded by nature. There are additional fold out chairs a fire pit. The perfect place to relax and soak up the delights of luxury camping.

Additional toilets and showers are just a short walk away open during the summer months.


Shepherd's Hut

We are a little different here at Naturesbase, surrounded in total by 9 acres of flower rich meadows, farmland and woodland, with buzzards and kites overhead, a meandering stream and hedgerows ablaze with wildlife. This is a truly natural Welsh haven for you to experience nestled between the Cambrian mountains and Cardigan Bay. We exceed in nurturing wellbeing through nature and wilderness. Come and relax in the undisturbed beauty of Naturesbase with the mountain landscapes and coastal views close by.

During the summer holidays we offer 10 camping pitches or our creatively designed Ty Coed family lodges. At all other times of year you can book our large lodge exclusively for family gatherings, celebrations and reunions.

We genuinely enjoy sharing the uniqueness of Naturesbase with others, providing a quality experience for all our visitors where adults can relax and enjoy the open countryside whilst children enjoy the rugged excitement nature has to offer.

Owl Bell Tent

Slightly smaller than our other pitches, this is still a lovely pitch with plenty of space. South-facing, and right next to the water supply, this pitch has its own firepit. If you don't want to have to carry water too far, and like to have a chat, this is the pitch for you.

Poplar pitch

Awel yr Awen is a new campsite, located at Gelli, the country house and farm where poet Dylan Thomas sat under the great Cedar tree drinking fresh, warm milk from the dairy in the 1940s.

Owned by the Thorpe family sice 1980, the historic organic farm is now a thriving home to bees, chickens, geese, ducks and ponies, as well as providing organic grazing for Welsh Black bulls and sheep, and a vibrant and sustainable vegetable garden, Gelli's hushed atmosphere is a solace to all who come here. Where the 17th century farmhouse stands, there was once a monastic sanctuary with some connection to Strata Florida Abbey. It is likely that the cob walled-garden and the old stone walls marking the fields and farm track go back to those times. The name Awel yr Awen, or ‘Breeze of the Muse’ is apt because it really seems as though poetic inspiration can be found here: as well as Dylan Thomas’s fame, the place has been an inspiration to several other poets, artists and composers.

Home to a wide variety of wildlife, this special place deserves a special camping experience, and here you will find just eight secluded pitches, each with its own campfire not only permitted but encouraged, and its very own private area of wilderness.

Situated only six miles from the coast, there are many beautiful beaches within an easy drive; South of Aberystwyth and North of Cardigan, Awel yr Awen is ideally located for exploring any part of West Wales; alternatively, it is possible that you won’t want to explore at all but just stay put, let the children roam free, soak in the peace and quiet and bask in the rural idyll that Awel yr Awen provides.

This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10:00pm.

Awel yr Awen Campsite

The campsite is open April to October for tents only and provides a small, open fronted kitchen, made from sustainably sourced timber and complete with double gas burner, for food preparation and washing up.

To ensure your stay is relaxing we ask that all cars are left in the car park and you walk the level 150 metre tarmac path from the carpark, to the gentle sloping field were you can begin your peaceful stay in our camping area. We have provided large barrows / trolley to transport equipment and the toilets and showers are available 24hrs a day in the main Centre, close to the car park. There are also two compost toilets; one close to the campsite and the other near the car park and various hides and seating areas can be found around the 40 acre site for you to enjoy the tranquility and nature here at Denmark Farm.

Non-Electric Grass Pitch (Tents Only)

Exclusive use of the campsite with up to 24 people and 6 vehicles in the carpark.

The campsite is situated on a gently sloping meadow next to woodland and, with almost no light pollution, the stars are amazing. Campers have the unique opportunity to share this peaceful place with red kites circling overhead, hares hiding in the undergrowth, dragonflies darting over ponds, hedgerows and woods full of birdsong, and flower-filled meadows.

Exclusive use of whole Campsite

'There are dragons in there!' one young camper enthused as we made our way into the dark woodland adjoining the camping meadow at Denmark Farm. Fearing for our safety, the gallant squire grabbed his trusty sword (ok, so it was a long stick) and rushed past us with a chivalrous, 'And I'm going to get them'. Although we didn't encounter any dragons during the visit, their presence is eminently plausible at this Welsh conservation site, situated among the green humps and bumps of Celtic Ceredigion. You wouldn't blame the mystical creatures for slumbering off the effects of battling with medieval knights in a centuries-long hibernation somewhere within this 40-acre treasure trove of landscape. Encirling the camping meadow are woods and fields and ponds that have been slowly nursed back to life from the land owner's farming days. A commendable job has been carried out by Denmark Farm Conservation Centre in helping nature to restore the site, much to the joy of the local flora and fauna (dragonflies included).There is room in the gently sloping meadow for around 20 people at any one time, with only tents allowed, plus a yurt for non-campers. A small, open fronted kitchen, made from sustainably sourced timber, is available for all guests to use and, while there are two composting toilets in the camping meadow, flushing loos and showers are open 24-hours-a-day in the Conversvation Centre building. Pathways that lead through the woods beckon you towards fairy-tale adventures, one leading to a magical roundhouse, another to a spiky hide – is it a bird or a hedgehog? – by the long lake.

Denmark Farm

The Shepherd's Hut was the first addition to our Glamping accommodations. It's beautifully quaint and perfect for an understated escape from the hustle and bustle of city or town life. Complete with a double bed, bunk beds, a small kitchenette and a private outdoor area including your own bench, the only thing you'll need to bring on this holiday is an open mind and a sense of adventure!

Wild Meadow Camping is accessible via a quiet country lane in the west Wales countryside. The pitches are located around the meadow, our ongoing project! Each year we add native plants and trees to create a real haven for wildlife. Sit a while, and you will see red kites soar through the skies and swallows swoop over the field to their hatchlings. Or you can get your exercise chasing a dragonfly over the stream.

Wildlife and conservation are important to us here at The Three Spaniels and we are keen to encourage all manner of flora and fauna to thrive; to that end we are in the process of planting more native trees, restoring our hedgerows and planting patches of wildflowers wherever possible.

A warm welcome awaits you and your family at Camping on the Farm. We are a small, family run campsite. Located for an enjoyable and relaxing break on the beautiful West Wales coast right next to the sea and coastal path and just a 5 minute, pleasant, level walk away from the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron.

Our park has a good access, making it easy for tourers and trailers. We welcome boats (launch your kayak straight from the site, across the pebbles and into the sea). Your dog is welcome too. We have electric hook-up facilities and a modern, clean shower and toilet block.

Beside the harbour you will find Aberaeron South Beach, an expansive shingled beach with a sandy shore at low tide, welcoming sailors, windsurfers, and canoers. This is a popular fishing beach, equipped with parking, a yacht club and basic toilet facilities. The beach is suitable for swimming but caution is advised due to the passing boats. For those who enjoy watersports it is advisable to bring your own equipment as there is no hire available. For ice-cream lovers don’t miss the charming town of Aberaeron fabled for its honey ice cream; lovingly crafted for decades by the same families. In the town, you will also discover brightly painted Georgian houses and a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops and a short promenade for a peaceful seaside amble.
