West Hall has been closed to visitors since the beginning of COVID lockdown. The District Executive  and West Hall Management Team have decided that all things considered it is best that this continues throughout the months of October, November and December. This will ensure that all aspects of the site, facilities, management and uses, can be made  COVID compliant by including the most up to date Scout HQ, Durham Scout County and Government advice into the West Hall Plan.


North Lizard is an approved and accredited BHS school that is riding providing total beginners to experienced riders superb days out in the countryside!  A range is offered by them of lessons, team lessons, and treks, on very carefully chosen horses and ponies to match you and your capability. These classes can be obtained 7 days a, including some evenings week! This is certainly a way that is excellent socialise with other horse enthusiasts and also to keep active. Additionally available are Pony Care times, where you can have a riding lesson, a hack out, receive a lecture, and also at the last end gather a rosette! Roker Park is a spot that is fantastic go and play or relax because of the children. There was a great amount of space and a lot of things for everyone doing. The park leads down to the beast so you also have some views which are great enjoy. The sailing lake is ideal for the younger young ones, with fishing nets and buckets, in addition to the ships that sail about it are superb to view. There are 2 play areas for the young kids, with one particularly for tots, and both are held lovely and clean. There clearly was a great amount of room to operate around, kick a football about or play frisbee. Dogs are welcome, but will need to be kept on the lead and solved after. The bandstand that is victorian sometimes useful for entertainment, but is also good as a shelter from rain! The miniature train trip is fun that is great with only a little contribution needed. There are some lovely flowery displays, plus water features to take pleasure from and throughout the Winter, there was a display that is wonderful of. A place that is lovely visit at any time of the year!
