The Scottish Boarders lie just inside Scotland, north of Northumberland and south of Edinburgh. A lovely route to enter Scotland from the UK is by crossing the at Carter Bar and from here you will be rewarded with magnificent views across the Scottish Borders. The landscape varies across the Borders; in the west there are rolling hills and beautiful lochs whereas in the East, on the North Sea coast, you can find some stunning places such as the seaside village of St Abbs and the fishing village of Cove. The River Tweed crosses the whole of the Borders until it flows into the sea at Berwick upon Tweed and along the riverbanks you can find the pretty villages of Peebles, Innerleithen and Melrose.
